First Elements 7... system memory

I used to get erorr messages saying: "WARNING: _ there is not enough system memory." Please save your project and proceed with caution. "That used to come after about 5 minutes of editing, but now it happens when I open my project. Immediately after clicking 'ok', it closes at the bottom saying, "* this * program has encountered a problem." Now I can't change my video and I have a deadline for this evening.

It seems to be a lot of discussion on this topic, but not conclusive answers.

I get an error 'almost discharged on system memory, proceed with caution', then it crashes generally (sometimes I can save (or save as that works better)).

    System information: Dell Studio XPS w / 64 bit i7-920, 6 GB, 450GB HD w / free 236 GB, ATI Radeon HD3650 w / 256 MB, Windows 7 (64-bit), the most recent drivers.

    Memory virtual-custom @ 5000 MB min and max 15000MB.

I just installed version 9 after using version 7 without problems for many years. At the moment, just trying to make a slideshow using JPEG files which were massaged using photoshop elements 7 (4.5 x 6 300 dpi). File size is 2MB generallyaround, but some go as high as 4.

I stopped everything I can in the start-up and operation (used enditall2) files. No additional program I see is open. PE9 looks just sucking the memory until I've exhausted, then I get the error. I took the pictures after each 4 additions (PITA!).

When I got the message, I uninstalled PE7 and PS7 and then uninstalled PE9 and PS9. I then reinstalled PE/PS9. No help there. Initially, I had the files on a portable USB HD, but moved everything by hand (C:\) drive in my video folder.  I use the PE9 project settings: DV-NTSC-Standard 48 kHz.

Appreciate any help what can I get on it. So I already lost too much time on it.

Your image files are too large. In your project preset, I guess you expect out of a NTSC DVD. Such a DVD has dimensions of 720 x 480.

If your slideshow is a chronology right ahead of the images, then you need to convert your photos to 720 x 480 before importing to PRE9. Your PSE7 (or any other photo editing software) can do that. If you want to use pan & zoom and resize to no more than 1000 x 750. You will find a lot more detail in that the resolution should be my pictures in Premiere Elements?

Note that, for video, the dpi is meaningless.

    See you soon,.

First elements acquires more than the 8 GB of RAM, I have in my computer, loading my project. Project contains 48 clips, the entire video has a length of about 6 min.

It is often possible to kill ss14 and avoid a reboot of the system, but sometimes only a reboot can solve the lock.

Sometimes the loading of the project does not exhaust the available RAM, and in these cases the continuation of the work with projects are possible without any RAM problems more (including rendering).

    What operating system is involved?

What are the properties of these 48 clips (still images and video, just one or the other)?

The complexity is the structure of the timeline, and what effects you apply for this clips - lots of reduction of stabilization?

  • First Elements 2 works more slowly on a better system?

    Hello

I recently bought a new computer and gave my dad my old system. It is using first Elements 2 on its old system, which had 1gig of RAM and a very bad processor. He ran great but it was usable.

So my question is, could help me or give me any information why 2 elements is incredibly slow and impossible to edit with a system with 4gig RAM and a dual core processor?

Should I just upgraded him? If so, what version because I heard number 8 is very buggy at the moment.

    Any information would be great.

    Thank you.

What operating system do you use?

First Elements 2 is designed to run on Windows XP. It may not work well on Vista, not to mention Win 7.

Perhaps you can find version 7 or even 4 available on Amazon.com or used on eBay. (Make sure that you buy a licensed copy, of course). Version 8 is much more stable in its version 8.01 patched - but it doesn't have its share of problems of resources, so you can avoid it during the upgrade.

  • First elements compatibility with the Windows operating system.

I have the first elements in environment Windows 8.1 11. I worked on the project.

Question 1: If I update Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 I'll be able to continue working on the project?

Question 2: If I update EP 11-14 PE and does not upgrade Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 will be be able to continue to work on an unfinished project created in EP 11?

Question 3: If I upgrade 11 PE PE 14 and 8.1 of Windows Update to Windows 10 I'll be able to continue to work on an unfinished project created in EP 11?

    Thank you. Lev.

First items 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 all will work perfectly on my Windows 10. Worst case, it's that you need to run it in XP compatibility mode.

It should not be necessary to upgrade.

  • First Elements 12 project

I want to give the details, first of all I see is what is needed to get help.

Brand new Lenovo laptop, app 5 weeks. -It has windows 7 Professional - 64-bit operating system, 146 GB of free - 8 GB memory - (Just added 4 started with 4)

First Elements 12 - got my first video on this system about 1/2 way done. (I edited once before on movie maker and he finished the first 12)  It is very large with lots of video clips and still images to about 9 different people, so I think that, 9 different cameras, Ipods and bands. (don't have not worked on that band yet, it's on the road, now when I play, it does not move, the sound made, but pictures do not change.) I've made a lot.

I know I probably should have done several small videos and put them together, but I got scared after doing some research I wouldn't be able to put it together. I am putting together a large number of our family experiences from Colorado flood 2013, and I put together the video clips and photos of friends, neighbors and family members.

I was not save it on an external drive, so my staff right feeling is now that I get up a mouthful of disc and I need to know exactly HOW to get the stuff transferred to an external, but I don't know where to start.

I see a lot of construction up as when he converters, saved and etc. I also heard on the first online class that I should delete the cacus, I think it was but I did not, I'm a little nervous about doing the wrong thing.

That all down, hope if you can set me straight on a few things.   Need more info just ask!

My question is what do I do now to get it to be moved again?

  • First Elements 11 - Renaissance of the PC or buy a new one?

I am tutoring a gentleman on how to use first elements 11 for a major project which includes 6 minutes slideshow narrated and 1 and a half hours of video high-definition 1920 x 1080.

It will come out his project on DVD, so I implemented a project of widescreen PAL 720 x 576. This will allow to zoom in the subjects and the interviewer for interest without losing quality.

I do not have the specifications of the computer in front of me at the moment, but from memory, they are fairly close to the plug according to the http://www.adobe.com/au/products/premiere-elements/tech-specs.html and the operating system is Windows XP.

It is on a very tight budget and the problem we have is that the preview is painfully trolling, jerky and even after an eternity made is still very inadequate. It is very difficult to get done editing.

I can recommend that he buy a newer and more powerful computer, but I know that money is very tight right now.

I'm just wondering, with all the experience you guys have, if you think he should get a satisfactory result on the machine there and it would be interesting my do a reinstall complete operating system and re - install only necessary programs on his machine.

If the basic specifications are not good enough, then I'll recommend a new computer, but if not, if he should get a better experience, I will rebuild the current for a nominal cost.

Would be very grateful for your opinions.

PS: The computer is about 5 years old and did not have a lot of hard use, but also has never been properly maintained, and I know I can improve its performance, just a question of who will be sufficient for the first elements 11.

I agree with Steve, it would be useful to know a little more about computer the gentleman.

For editing AVCHD material, here's my "minimum specs.', for the computer:

    1. Intel i5 CPU (faster, better)
    2. OS Win7-64
    3. Installed RAM 8GB min.
    4. 2 physical 7200 RPM HDD (hard disk drives) - one for the OS and programs (can be smaller) and the media and projects (must be big enough)
    5. nVidia or AMD/ATI GPU w / 1 GB of VRAM (this recommendation is more for support for the pilot and also provide VRAM dedicated, so that the video card does not need to share the system installed RAM)

While you can get with less, a computer of this type would allow more than an adequate return for editing.

I also know that a "regular" here, John T. Smith, built a computer for his wife and managed to get the right computer at a value price. I hope he can also comment.

    Good luck

  • Some projects won't load does not, first Elements 4

At first, my projects worked very well. I was in the middle of working on a particular project before decide me, ' Hey, we're going to upgrade the computer!

Now, some projects simply won't load. I click on the project, and all I get is a blackened by window with the text "user interface initialization" below left. It never initializes.

It is when I have the chance. Sometimes, all crashes with just a few "the first meeting with a serious error." It does not freeze, cause the program is able to create a backup before its closure, so I think that there is some kind of conflict. But for the life of me, I can't understand it.

The only thing that is changed from then to now is I now version 64-bit instead of 32-bit windows. Graphics card is the same, the memory is the same, everything is the same. That's all just a new installation of windows.

It cannot be just a general incompatibility, because some projects take very well. It's completely random those who, although they tend to be small. (a few small projects is loading)

I had to reinstall first but who usually solves problems not create.

    Some things I've tried:

    Clear cache

    Removal of the preferences

    Relocation of

    Disable hardware acceleration

programs to disable my anti virus (AVG and Spybot 2.0)

Compatibility mode for Windows XP service pack 2 AND 3

    Give administrator privileges

It is the only open application

This software has been my companion software edition for years. I need to understand what got so weird since the 64-bit update.

    Specifications of the computer:

    Radeon 6670

    8 GB memory

    Windows 7 64 bit

    Processor Intel i5 3401

    ASUS Micro-ATX Motherboard

All my drivers are up to date. Quick time is updated. Flash is up to date. The Cree program open when the draft takes over and works like a charm. So, what gives?

    Red truck inc.

I have the first Elements 4 in Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 64bits. No problems. In the properties/Compatibility tab, I leave "run this program in compatibility mode for" unchecked. I have to right click on the first Elements 4, select run as administrator, even though I have worked for a user with the privileges of the administrator account. Then, focus on the angle of permissions a little more.

With the thought of the possible remains of incomplete install or reinstall, you did just uninstall, ccleaner Cross (parts regular and register of vacuuming), reinstall?

Is this video card Radeon 6670 only video card that has the computer? Are you on any network? Do you run a system single or dual monitor on your Windows 7 64 bit?

    Just some thoughts for now.

If the installation of SmartSound is the only thing that gives you trouble, try to install manually. Use the plug-in for OS x first.

  • First Elements 10, installation of content themes, titles etc.

I'm under element first Adobe 10 and that you have installed the full content of the themes, titles etc.

I now have several times just after a project has been loaded, received the message, that only a small set of themes of instant film, titles etc are available despite all of the content is installed.

It does not matter what project I opened.

Departure to reinstall all the content ends with the message to uninstall the version already installed.

It seems that the InstallShield Wizard detects the already installed content, but first Element 10 does not work.

I have uninstall the content and install it again, and it works for awhile.

First of all, a few thoughts:

1.) have you updated your sound and video drivers later?

2.) you have updated Quick Time Player of Apple?

    3.) have you updated PrE8 8.0.1?

  • Adobe first Elements 7 files main errors

I have Adobe first Elements 7 and whenever I try to change some of my film I get significant errors. Here's what I did to try to resolve the problem:

    through some troubleshooting on adobe.com

    uninstalled and reinstalled PE7

a system has restored several days ago, when it was working fine

The film that I'm editing is more than an hour long and has a variety of clips video, photos, narration and music. When I press on play works well enough, but when I want to move the narrative or 'clear' a certain clip, he goes crazy! Here are some of the error boxes I've seen:

    Premiere Elements debug event

    [..-.. \Src\Sequence\TrackItemTrack.cpp-480]

    and also this

    [..-.. \Src\VideoSegment.cpp-55]

When those who come, I can just click 'continue' and then it appears again and again until finally he says that there is an error, it should close and he will try to save the project.

He has also developed until the file open:

Found the default catalog. Trying to open the default catalog.

And, when I did the system restore it came when I opened PE7:

The license subsystem has not catastrophic. You must reinstall or call customer service.

I have a deadline to meet with this film, but I can't even change it shut down on me so much! I tried opening other PE7 movie files and edit them and they seem to work very well from the little I did. If the file itself has something wrong with it? I had minor problems with PE7 before but nothing as bad as this! I have my video file saved on the hard drive of the computer and two separate external hard drives. I tried opening the file to all three places, but they are all the same.

I'm not a computer expert, but if you need more info, let me know, and please answer as soon as POSSIBLE!

    Thank you!

Well, the program can handle images of large size, up to 4096 x 4096, however, which can not handle those is your computer. Even on my NLE workstation, it does not have a lot of images pixel 4000 x 4000, and it will start to have problems.

In addition, the resizing in PrE (or PrPro) algorithms are not nearly as good as those of Photoshop. Remember, this is a video editor, not an image processor. This ARTICLE will give you some information and some advice. So if you resize in Photoshop, you will end up with the best images and also a much lower fee General on your computer. If you work with large images, you want to look in Adobe AfterEffects, because it allocates resources and memory differently and you will edit composite to about 40,000 x 40 000 pixels. Don't remember the exact pixel x pixel boundaries.

    Good luck

  • First Elements 8 Installation optimization?

After a few years of use Adobe Elements '3', I decided to switch to '8' and I'm willing to install it now. I read a lot of information on the forums on various improvements and have learned much about the causes of my frustrations over the years.

I'm also just starting to use (learn) photoshop CS2 (Yes... behind a little). I used some other photo editing programs and has recently decided to try Photoshop since I bought sometimes back.

I will install on a machine that I dedicated exclusively to media and production editing. I wanted to have the opinion of experts from there to ensure that my installation is optimized before you start. Here are the specs of the system for the machine I want to use:

Led Precision 690 Dual Core Xeon 5150 proc, 4 GB of SDRAM DDR2 memory at 667 MHz, nVidia Quadro FX 4500, 512 MB dual VGA or DVI graphics.

    Two hard drives, c: 250 GB SATA 3.0 Gb/s 7200 RPM w/8 MB DataBurst Cache and d: 500 GB SATA 3.0 Gb/s, 7200 RPM w/16 MB DataBurst Cache.

C1 - All hard drives no RAID for 1 or 2 hard drives SATA. The operating system is Windows XP Pro - Serv. PK 2

Currently the C: drive has 120 GB of space used and is has a few programs and a library of great music. D: drive is virtually empty with only 394 MB used.

Currently my virtual memory settings are: size of the file C: 2046-4092 D: has nothing put? I'm not sure whether or not should?

My goal would be to use what I have (hardware and software wise) currently and optimize the settings and installation for reliability and speed (if these two words can be used in the same sentence). What I can do before installing which could help overall I want to do now. Here are some of my questions:

    1. Should I install a first Elements 8 on the drive "C" or "D"?
    2. I all catches recorded and made made on the disk "D", because it is basically empty?
    3. From what I've read, the virtual for my system should be set at a maximum of 9092. Based on the 2 to 2.5 times the 4 GB of Ram. Is this correct?
    4. I leave the ' set the initial size to 2046.
    5. I should only ajdust these when I use this program and set them back in the case, or should I adjust them at the beginning and let them?
    6. I noticed that there is already an update for '8 '. I should download immediately or only if there is a problem?
    7. I install Photoshop CS2 on this machine at the same time. Y at - it no recommendation as to which one should be installed first?

Any comments will be greatly appreciated. I'm ready to be installed with both programs in a box sitting in front of me. I've removed all versions earlier and all cleaned up, it is all nice and sweet.

    Thank you

Overall, you seem to be in good shape. While you certainly want to XP to SP3 and access to Windows Update/Custom to ensure that you have even the non-critical updates. Also, make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime.

    1. Yes, you MUST install Premiere Elements on your C drive.

    2. use your D drive to store your project files and media. In fact, I recommend that, for each project, you open a new folder on the D drive to your project file. This is, among other things, keep your zero and make files in a place it need so that, when the time comes to remove the project from your computer, you can erase all files associated with the project while deleting the folder.

Also check that your drive D is formatted NTFS and FAT32 not.

As for the rest of your questions:

I let the system set up virtual memory. There is no reason to put it manually on XP.

You should have no problem installing both Photohsop CS2 and elements on the same computer programs.

Finally, please refer to the right of this forum. The first several address issues and updates for first Elements 8.
