First Elements 8 crash

I bought and downloaded first elements 8 on my computer, I have enough memory and hard drive. I created a small video and imported, but whenever I try to do anything, my system hangs crashes? Any suggestions?

Also, I do not work with the video that much, I'm looking for classes or consultation with this product, any suggestions?

Thank you

Anita

Anita,

First of all, a few thoughts:

1.) have you updated your sound and video drivers later?

2.) you have updated Quick Time Player of Apple?

3.) have you updated PrE8 8.0.1?

If you answered Yes to all the people, we would probably look a little deeper. This ARTICLE will give you some ideas as to what information would be helpful. More details, the better it is.

Good luck

  • First elements keep crashing with the rendering and editing environment!

    Hey

I used adobe first elements 10 a little over a month now. But recently pre began to plant, then I made a video!

I began searching on "Adobe premiere elements 10 crash supply", but has not found an answer. But, I have found that some people had the problem with crash made when the bar reached process 27%, I tried to make twice in a row and notice that my rendering where crashing to 31%!

I really have no idea what could be the problem!

    4g RAM

    3, 20ghz cpu intel

    64 bit

See also this article on PRE to crash, or suspended: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/792580?tstart=0

He begins with a checklist for the pre, then goes into details on the setting of the system and OS, and then goes in the resolution of problems, with links to other articles and also tools to help solve the problem (s). The first part is pretty easy, and then things take "degree of difficulty", as you progress, ending with the case of the unexplained.

  • First Elements 9 crashes on startup

Recently I had this problem with first Elements 9, where it will keep crashing whenever I have load or start a new project. I'll start first Adobe Elements 9 on my computer (Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit). I then select new project and create a new project or load an old. After the project loads, it no longer responds. No specific error message gets up, except the one that always comes up when a program is not responding. This message gives me the opportunity to close the program or wait for it to respond. He never responds, so I always close.

I had the program for almost a year now, I got to the end of June last year, and it came with Photoshop Elements 9 and first Elements 9. This problem came last Friday, and I tried a lot of different things to try to fix it. I've updated the program, I checked Quicktime, I updated my video card, I tried to run the program under a different user, I tried to run the program without other applications running, I cleaned and Defrag the drive, and I scanned for viruses. I have also reinstalled the program from my office and I also tried to remove everything related to the program on my computer and reinstall it and so far, nothing has worked.

Here are some details on my computer. I have a Windows 7 Home Premium with a 64-bit operating system. The manufacturer is Dell model Inspiron 580 I have 4 GB of RAM. The I have the processor is Intel (r) Core i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67 GHz. My system with Service Pack 1. There are currently 241 GB free on my hard drive, which has 455 GB.

I tried to recreate the preferences file, but the problem was still there. I decided to retrace my steps of what I did on Friday. I went back to the new user, I created yesterday and opened the first. I looked at all the files I used for the project, that day, and I suddenly realized that among the .mp4 was corrupt, and I don't notice it. I didn't really preview before I put it in the Friday project, so I guess I should have already done. I tried to put it on the project, and of course, it crashed the program. I had found my problem now. I went back on my user and delete the video file damaged, and all of a sudden, pre worked perfectly again. You were good John, the problem had to do with a corrupted .mp4 file. I guess something happened when I was filming or when I put the file on my computer that has corrupted the file, and I guess that I do not notice it. The .mp4 file came from my user, which I suppose is the reason the program has worked on other users, and not mine.

So, the problem is now resolved. Guys thank you very much for helping me with this problem. I'm so relieved now that I can continue to use the program without any problem.

  • First elements 4 crashes on taking title

Hi everyone, hope to find some help here.

I have a Sony Vaio with Win Vista (kept up-to-date at all times).

I just finished a video project of 1 hour and 5 minutes with PRel 4.0, but I can't export the animation.

Reason? Titles of cause outages of continuos.

In video editing, every 3-5 uses first titles went on the crash.

It was hard to finish as the titles are subtitles (the original film is in English and I had to translate in Italian).

But some tests I've done have always been successful it I won't be notified.

I know for sure, the titles are the "bad guys" because troubleshooting sessions, I made a full version of the film

After the removal of all the texts and the process went smoothly and without warnings/problems.

Now, I think it might be a lot of opportunities, but I have found no solution on the web.

I think the most effective solution might be the following:

I can rasterize text? in order to have bitmaps simple foreground instead of vectors could get around the accident.

hypotetic alternatives are more exotic to me (or I guess they are, )

Here are the details of the warning messages, I got Vista after accidents.

(it's in Italian, but it might be easy to understand) If necssary I can translate.

    Thanks in advance

Toshiba have a graphics driver 'closed '. But a Toshiba user has recently released a fix recommended by Toshiba to install a generic driver. He has worked for several owners of Tosh.

    • Get the latest ATI driver on the ATI site. Download the driver, not the detection utility.
    • Create a system restore point
    • IS this the STEP IMPORTANT ---> in Manager device remove the graphics card and restart the machine.
    • When restarting decline all prompts to install a driver.
    • Install the generic driver from ATI.
    • Reset.
    • If it is worked, hooray. If this isn't the case, you can return to your system restore point.

  • Preset corrupted causing the first Elements 10 Crash

I recently upgraded from Premiere Elements 4.0 to 10.0 PE. I was in the middle of several projects, all that I was able to successfully open/edit/etc in PE 10. However, a stabilizing effect that I had applied to clips in PE 4 has been appearing as "Offline (unavailable filter)" in the properties of the effect of the clip. This was not too much of a problem; I was just remove this effect and its replacement by a few tens of stabilizer, which seems to work in all cases better.

I went to record all of the clip effects as preset for one of my projects (my custom presets don't transfer via 10) and included the "Offline (filter unavaible)" effect on the accident. After that I saved as a custom preset, whenever I try to go in the section "My presets" in 'Effects' first 10 breaks down.

Does anyone know where the "My Presets" are stored on my computer so that I can go and delete this one?

I looked through it and found the effects created for cutom location.

You should before all PrE close and then go to the following location:

    %AppData%\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Elements\10.0

You will see a file named 'Effect Presets and Custom Items.prfpset', delete this file and then restart pre again.

This should remove your custom created preset and will not affect the installed presets.

  • First Elements 4 crash dies error abend

Last year, we got first items for my children edit vacation videos. They do not have to change them because they said it crashed.

This week, I uninstalled it go to their computer and installed on my own so that I can change the holiday. They were right. It crashes regularly.

(Off topic, but we only had v4 last year and he is already 7?) At 4, 5 and 6 that bad?)

I'm under Windows XP Home edition on a Dell Inspiron 6400 with an external 1 TB on a link eSATA storage enclosure - in other words, there is plenty of space for files and records of work. The box has a processor Core 2 Duo 1.66 GHz and 2 GB of memory and asked to Service Pack 3.

There also the suite CS2 Pro out there (first shot bridge installation ).

The files that I am importing come from a JVC Everio and are in 16:9 format. I've read elsewhere various issues with the MOD format, but yesterday's strength by using "film" and "respond to the D1/DV PAL screen 16:9 (1.422)", I managed to get an output of first... Finally. It took me 2 days to 10 seconds of test images!

Now, after reaching, I want to treat the vacation photos.

The thing is that I can not believe how unstable first is. It hangs at the slightest thing. Earlier I was drag the files down to the timeline - crash without a message. Then I re - start, repeat... repeat... repeat... I was striking this place and saw that he had finished "consistent" a file (whatever that means) and went to "file/save". It crashed. "Sorry for the inconvenience". I went when it first opened, organizer, sorting by "oldest first" and takes the scroll bar to slide down and see the files to get where I was. It crashed.

While typing this message, that it crashed at no less than 8 times. Incredible. Adobe ship a product which was this unstable?

In any case, I have not here intend to moan about how unstable it is (it's just a product ). In fact, I want to know if there are any known issues that cause this kind of behavior so that I can fix and use it for what it is designed to do.

At this moment I think it's less fine than a chocolate tea pot. At least you can admire that and eat!

So... anyone? How do you get first to... Well well... to do something without crashing?

    MarkitVision,

I think you have very close. DV - AVI Type II is the new version, but it is very similar to the Type DV - AVI I. I have exact standard, but not very practical differences. The majority of the NLE (Non Linear Editors) works well with the variation of Type II. The most common complaint, when you use the Type I herein is Audio sync is often out (seems to be about 6 pictures in most cases), but this OOS (Out Of Sync) questions is usually constant. It can be "fixed" with a little tweaking in the timeline panel. Usually, it does not derive, or if this is the case, the drift is that you wouldn't notice with a typical duration (say 20 min.). Why Windows Movie Maker (WMM) always exporting to DV - AVI Type I is a mystery to me, especially when almost all other programs use the Type II, and the CODEC so that it comes out of Microsoft (MS), after all. I guess it's a case of 'this is the way it has always been', and no to MS wants to change a program that is essentially free with the operating system or by download from the MS. site [just guessing here.]

Even if we could have any type of file listed as an AVI, including WMV and MPEG file, it is more common to find other CODEC inside, like Xvid and DivX, you mention. Note: you can see the. Extension of the files using an of various of the DivX CODEC DIVX too.  For the WMV (many flavors), it is more often. WMV, or. ASF. For MPEG variants, the extension (wrapper) is most often. MPEG /. MI/GAL. For the Apple CODEC, including H-263 & H - 264, we see more often. MOV or MP4 (MPEG-4). Some people and programs, play fast-n-loose with file extensions. I see all kinds of files listed as a type and Windows Media Player (WMP) will often throw the message, "the listed file type is not correct... You want to read the file anyway? "[Or similar syntax.] Usually, other players like VLC and Media Player Classic, don't bother with any error message, and just go on reading of the file, regardless of how the file extension matches the CODEC and the actual content. These players just to read the file header information and use it. The extension is only for show all files of AV, you navigate from one of these two players - it's ONLY the header information, that they care. Now, we left a bunch of other CODEC that we often encounter, but most is old, rarely used nowadays and are more often in one. AVI. MPEG or. MOV wrapper. While it's not dead, we'll concern ourselves not with any of them, until the day when a customer walks with one and then just run us it through G-Spot to find the CODEC and get on with the job with Google trying to find. Note that the Motion JPEG (MJPEG) appears more often now (think Nikon D-90) and is often in one. Wrapper MPEG.

The main difference between DV - AVI (or other type), it's that it's an I-Frame format, which means that each 'frame' is described in detail - where the file size difference. Most of the other formats that use a single I-Frame at the beginning of a group of pictures (GOP) and then only contain data are different for the next, say 15 images. This gives smaller files, as only every 15, or so, executives is described entirely - good compression, when the CODEC does a good job of it. However, you cannot change effectively in most programs. Think for a minute. You have a 15 GOP chassis. Only the first (i-Frame) is described, and the next 14 executives connect with him for most of their information, indicating only the difference. You cut out the i-Frame, and there is nothing to set out a framework which is now at the head of your Clip. This detail exists only in the i-Frame and he's gone. Convert to DV - AVI (or any I-Frame format) converts all difference frames in I-Frames. Now you can cut. Different lossy CODECS do this I-Frame/difference-Frame compression (several different systems and also different names for non I-Frames) differently and with different numbers of frames in the GOP. Some are better than others. Their compression allows to adapt 1.5 hrs. video on a 4.7 GB DVD.

It's like opening a JPEG in Photoshop (PS). The program rebulds the image to the best of its ability. Note that the size of the file reported in PS is much larger that the JPEG format appears in Windows Explorer. If we make a backup now, in TIFF or PSD, the size will be much larger than the original JPEG.

Using our less-than-perfect JPEG analogy, what we have with any which HDD camera is: RAW (can not get, or see, the camera performs the conversion inside) in JPEG format. We then convert (inside the NLE, or through a 3rd party program) to TIFF. If we go to DVD-Video (or any streaming format) as a JPEG again. If we use a SD material, which is as good as it gets, which is no longer tolerable. If we start with HD material, it's a little better, but only slightly, until we released BD for delivery. If we the out that HD DVD-Video material, we still use our old friend, MPEG-2. To distill, = JPG, DV - AVI MPEG = TIFF. In almost all video cameras, we never get to see the RAW, as a form of compression is usually held before the data are laid on a tape or other media.

With output MPEG of the camera, we start with JPEG, go to TIFF and then back to JPEG format. There will be hits of quality at first, and when we released (unless we plan to look at only the DV - AVI). Usually, it will always be great on TV, although if watch us on a high resolution computer screen, we will see the loss of quality.

I also use CyberLink PowerDirector, when I need two conversion and edition of light. Same for Magix and a few others. They are just tools in my toolbox. There is never too much. We can do a lot of work with a key wrench. However, it is better to have a complete set of tools. You can plant a nail with this key, but a hammer works so much better.

I have obscured a lot and omitted some more, like NLE that works in native MPEG-2 and don't need to transcode (for everything) to get a DVD-Video.

Thank you for taking the time to list your workaround solutions. These others with happiness. MOD files.

  • I installed McAfee access two days ago, and now the first elements 13 crashes whenever I open it.

    I'm on a Dell XPS-8100 Windows 7-64 bits, 10 GB of RAM.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated!

    Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion. Since I posted the problem, I have solved it, but I'm not sure what step done. I have tried disabling McAfee, both real time analysis and the firewall, but that had no effect. Then I tried in safe mode, which also don't make any difference to come. I started, I was wondering if McAfee was the culprit, after all, because then I remembered that I had added three pieces of the software after installing the new McAfee. One was a free video screen grabber, and the other two being free video conversion programs. Unfortunately, I uninstalled all the front I retried EP 13. When I did, I found things were back to normal. If my guess is that one or more of them were to blame.

    Thanks again for your contribution.

  • First Elements 8: Crash when scrolling to the bottom of the effects list.

I use the trial version, and if I scroll down in the box of effects (window at the top right-> Edit-> effects) the program hangs and must be completed. It happens randomly (at a time), but WHEN it happens I lose all my work.

Is there a solution to this?

    Here's my hardware configuration:

    -Athlon 7850 CPU (basically a Phenom X 2)

    -4 GB of DDR2-800 RAM

-Radeon HD 4850 512 MB video card

    -Audigy 2 ZS sound card

    -Windows 7 Professional

Also, how can I disable the Welcome screen and go directly to the Publisher? I know the "Publisher of launch always behind the Welcome screen", but it is useless since the Welcome screen is loaded without worrying. I want to start completely.

Yes, you will need the latest version of Quicktime and the latest drivers for your video card.

However, as I said, this program may have problems on the 64 bit version of Windows 7 because drivers are not always compatible with the 32-bit program.

  • A specific point in the video gives first element crash

    Hey

I have a problem that is PISSING ME OFF!

I have a video file recorded with Dxtory, minecraft, and most of the video is very good. Does with errors or crashes in Windows media player.

BUT then I took the video and play, at one point in the video, it blocks first elements, no error message, no point of freezing, just "Adobe premiere has stopped working".

This bug or what ever it is, is a deal with the video file, because I can through the video what ever I want to first elements, and if he doesn't have a Xvid codec, its fine. (Yes I checked if the video file is Xvid and it's not)

I tried to convert the file to mp4 = new show = just audio

I tried to compress the file = problem = elements like Xvid

I tried to run a booster mode, reduce half of the edited video, make the first part without problem = always crashing to the point of 'crash' (if this isn't a memory issue)

Y at - it no great beautiful man with the answer to everything, who can help me please?

    Thank you

Yes the links didn't directly help me with my problem, but they helped with something that could prevent this problem.

The codec-links gave some good information about the weird codec using the Dxtory and also some alternative codecs. I for example will use codecs without loss as an alternative clean "Lagarith lossless codec" or Dxtory´s, called "PackBit codec" and hopfully not having this problem again.

Now, what I did, was like John T Smith said, using another program to change. But what I have, I found the drop point which was in my video, is 00:13:41:26 gone 11sec back up 00:13:30:00 and make a cut, went from 19 sec before the drop point and makes another cut. I then removed the video clip that I did, so I was left with a g 30 sec.

Then I went to Windows Live Moviemaker and made an exact replica of the clip I just removed, rendered the clip moviemaker and placed in the ATM in my project to create items.

It worked fine with no crash! The only down side is these 30 seconds, there is a small decline in quality and a little switch in the sound, but who better than nothing

Thank you both very much for helping me! With the new codec I got of hunts to the links, I will hopefully not encounter this problem again, and if I do, John T Smith helped me with the solution of movie maker.

    Thank you!
