First, keeping the creation of media to the HARD Drive Cache files if it is full
Hello
I use the latest version of first. The problem is the same with the previous version 2015.3.
I have a complete project of mp4 files. I edit a huge project with over 4000 hours of footages, but I only import footages that I am cut, so it should be no problem for first. Maybe the problem comes from those mp4 files, but I'm not sure.
I tried many different types of settings but first always creates and re-creation of media cache files.
You can see on the picture. It does exactly the same thing if I put media files in external drives.
I tried to do a new project and re - import the files, but it does the same thing.
My assistants working on different computers have the same problem.
For now, the only way I found to remove the media Cache files when the disk got full, but recently, I have to do more than once day and my external HDD, SSD is 1 TB.
Thus, it creates 1 TB of file cache in half a day.
If someone has an idea to fix that, it would be really appreciated.
Best,
Matthew Laclau.
In first preferences, according to the media section, you have a check mark next to "write XMP IDS to files? If this setting is not enabled, enable it. Usually helps in this scenario, especially if working with double media on different drives.

the hard drive of my computer is purchased full.i a drive.how external hard change outside the primary disk so I can download music easily.right now my external backup just my computer that isn't doing me good
original title: external hard drivesYou don't want to change your external drive to your main drive.
You can move your music files on the external drive - or you can move other data on the disk to make room for your music on the internal drive.
What applications do you use to play music?
As described in the first link below, you can move your full "My Documents" folder on the external drive. Alternatively, you can simply move your music files. If such an arrangement would give you a satisfactory performance, however, depends on how your external drive is connected (for example, USB 1.1, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA, Firewire, network) and other hardware features of your computer.
Not all of the following conditions will be applied to you, but some of the tips can be useful.
There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space. The only real solution, however, is to get a bigger internal hard drive. You can move the data to your external drive, but if it's the data that you use frequently, slower access times may annoy you. Therefore, I do not recommend that you move your My Documents folder in its entirety on the external drive, but you can certainly do this by following the related instructions.
- You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
- You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
- You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
- You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
- You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)
- You can remove most of the $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx files $ following the directions here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm (read the warnings in the gray box first)
- See also:
" How to recover disk space on Windows Server 2008 and Windows XP computers? ."
" Forty ways to free disk space ."
But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long. The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.
In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files you must move it to your external drive. If you want to move an application, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall it specifying your external drive as the installation location. You can not simply move the files.

Satellite C670-11 q clicking loud noise the HARD drive
Hello!
I helped my neighbor to find a new laptop and the entire installation and start-up.
We ordered a C670-11 q and it works very well, theres just a nuisance.
The drive made strong rattling noises, not as a dying or working drive. It's the same sound when you turn a disc, just a lot stronger. I guess that's the "arm of disc" that goes into its safe position.I don't know if this laptop has a shock sensor to do this? The laptop was flat on the table, and there where NO vibrations while she does. There are no clicks under load, but they occur randomly when walking to the idle or surf/write normal.
I checked also save energy options and disabled to turn the disk, without help.
Also, this seemed odd, because the clicks occur often several times in a row. But there is no doubt it more when running on the battery.I am running the BIOS and latest drivers in the area of support (as of yesterday).
The disk is configured in performance mode, I'm testing battery economy - should I?And no, the drive took a beating. I was the first person to turn it on.
The drive is Hitachi, I don't run their analysis - no error.
Any help is greatly appreciated: o)
> The drive makes some noises clicking on, not as a dying drive or work. It's the same sound when you turn a disc, just a lot stronger. I guess that's the "arm of disc" that goes into its safe position.
One of my computer portable HARD drive makes such noise too.
I m not exactly why, but I also think that it is at the head of discs moving record position.
However, I think that this is not really a malfunction since the laptop works pretty well and I didn't notice any problems with the HARD drive or files but I have created a backup of my files, just to be sure that you know
I think you should save the date just to be sure -
Should media be copied on the hard drive first?
Came today houses a few complaints of my wife on the problems with PE8 and discovered that, on my proposal, she took the card from the camera flash, put it in our reader of USB and any media files directly from there (rather than through the USB cable to the camera, as we have done for years).
She used the command get the media, but it seems that get the media does not copy the original hard disk first, as I try to do to get the media. Can't blame him or any other user; Get sounds of media as it is the right think to click, and the images come right into the system...
She began to make a nice slideshow with music and did a great job, until the preview window has stopped changing with the audio - I can rub, but as soon as I try playback the picture in the right preview window freezes but the sound continues to play.
I unplugged the USB media player and, of course, the project could not find the media. It is disappointing that 'Get media' did not get the media out of the map at all. If we had taken the lead and erased and re-used the map, the media would be gone forever!
More disappointing, now there is no reading on ALL the projects that we have, even those that have been conducted successfully with completely different media that is on the hard drive.
Then, media must be copied manually on the hard disk before you use the command get the media to align with the project and/or the Organizer?
And if so, is that not stupid enough? I've gotta be something missing here...
Transfer of files to a card, or the camera HDD (hard drive) and get the media are two completely separate operations. Let me explain:
When you transfer the files from the source to your system, you make a copy of these files on your system HARD drive. THEN, when get you the media, you are linking only the editing program (NLE) to your project. If they are still on the disk HARD of the camera or flash card, or similar, and you unplug the appliance or remove the Middle, these links are broken.
It's exactly the same thing, when using an external HARD disk. Files are not automatically copied to the internal HARD drive, but are related to the external HARD drive. Unplug the external and pre cannot locate files. It would be the same if we put onto a DVD and then linked to files on this disc. Remove the disc, and the links will be broken. Copy these files on and THEN link to them, and as long as you do not move or delete these files, the links work.
This ARTICLE will give you some information about what is in the project file (.) PREL). There is NO media inside those, only links.
Hope this helps and also explains the differences between first copy and then by linking and just a link to the files.
Good luck

Satellite U205-S5002: cannot retrieve the Express Media Player after upgrading the HARD drive
So I bought just a new Toshiba Satellite U205-S5002 I love it. One of the great features that interest me was the Express Media Player feature.
My first step was to upgrade the hard disk and 160 GB and 2 GB ram.
I placed the disk and ram in my old laptop and sold it.Before that I did, I made a copy ghosts and ghost of the hard drive to the new drive. Well come to find out...
Toshiba is not provided with this software preinstalled, so I followed the instructions to burn my recovery disk Express Media Player and the boot on the new disk.
So this is where the saga begins...After 15-20 seconds, I get a soothing blue screen (NOT of blue BSOD you mind) who says:
/!\
An error occurred during the recovery of "Express Media Player".
-------------------------------------------------------
Please pick up the image again from the beginning.
Press any key to exit.It is typed exactly as it is on the screen. So, I see some other forums saying: you must have the free space of the disk so I resize the partition that allows 200 MB of space. Always the same... then try 2 GB even... then the 50 GB, same problem...
OK, so obviously not a question of space. I read while I might need to erase the drive... so I delete the partition, this same error... then I run the recovery disk and tell him to wipe the drive, wait 1 1/2 hour, it ends. No dice! So I decide... ok... Well lets try another disk... I have restored my ghost image... and burned the image again... same question... so I decide to the recovery disk and I'll try to reinstall windows in the factory and make a record...
Well, it does not work as well as you think... the image is incomplete... windows works fine... but the c:\Toshiba\ExpressMediaPlayer folder is empty!
I'm happy that I have ghosts my original directory. But I decide allows to Express Media Player a shot more now that I have restored to factory... always the same error... I then decide a trial more... I'll erase drive 1.5 hours, I'll restore from toshiba dvd provided but leaving plenty of space at the end 2 GB (I have a lot about people who tell you to base just around 200 MB)
5 hours later... moment of truth... Well Yes you guessed it... I don't know anything else to try... I have a bad image?
You need one that I can download what has worked for them for sure? Or have - I have completely found myself by replacing the HDD with after market and which is originally a kind of compatibility issue?Thank you in advance.
Gabe at supergeekz dot comHello
It s a great story!
I put t know how to start so maybe first some info on the Express media player. As you said, and has already proposed the Express media player has been preinstalled on the second partition.
If you want to install this media Express on the HARD disk drive, 150-200 MB of free space must be available. This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated.
To get these free space on the HARD disk, 3 third-party products should be used as for example the Partitions Magic 8!I'm not going to write a story how to recover the Express media player because Toshiba has already created useful documents, which described complete installation!
I found these documents in the knowledge base of computer Toshiba:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/generic_content.jsp?service=EU&ID=TIC2* Check this box: *.

Keep the dng or CR2 files when switching from Lightroom and Photoshop.
From Lightroom and Photoshop, how can I keep the dng or CR2 files. Now it changes the psd and when I return to Lightroom it removes options in the section of Calibration of the camera, so that while I have a choice (Adobe Standard/camera faithful), after returning from Photoshop file I have "Embedded." How can I keep the dng or CR2 files
Adding to the good advice of Alfred - a raw file cannot be registered as the other files.
Its only use is the basis for the creation of new files, which must be regular files, such as tiff, psd or jpg.
When you edit a raw file in Lightroom, it does not change the file, the changes are written to the catalog.
Optionally, save the changes in the form of metadata (xmp) sidecar files, or in the case of DNG in the file itself.

I'm talking about my legal copy of Indesign CS2 adobe, but told me that the serial number is already active. I know that I did at the time, but the computer is dead and the hard drive is GONE. Under license, I could put on my laptop and keep a copy on my PC at home as long as I don't have use both at the same time. None of these computers no longer exists. And why adobe cannot say that it was me who did the first activation?
It won't matter because your copy of CS2 and serial number no longer works. You need to acquire a special version because of the Adobe stop the activation for CS2 server and other products of this period. The links below will explain more and also drive you to the download version, you must get and the serial number, you can use for this.

C55 - A satellite - keep Windows after changing the HARD drive?
Hello
I want to buy Toshiba Satellite C55 - A, which is pre-installed Windows 8.1 and the recovery on the HARD drive Partition.
I also want to buy 256 GB SSD and put it in Toshiba (and use the external as hard drive from Toshiba HARD drive). Can I install Windows 8.1 that I bought (preinstalled) on the SSD?
If so, how?Of course, you can swap the HARD drive with an SSD.
The key is the recovery media (USB key or drive).
You must create a recovery disk to replace the HARD drive.Laptop Toshiba computers are preinstalled with software called Toshiba Recovery Media creator.
This allows you to create a recovery media that you can use to reinstall the system on the new SSD installed! -
Replaced the hard drive - now screen Intel Rapid Storage Tech comes first?
A couple of weeks ago, I replaced the hard drive in my laptop Pavilion dm4-3090se with a 240 GB Samsung SSD (the laptop came with a 500 GB Hybrid HDD which is now my backup).
Everything works fine, except when I first put it in, I get the screen shown in the image below and it takes a good 5 or 6 seconds before it closes and opens Windows. How can I make this screen go away?
You are running Windows 7 or Windows 8? I see that you still have the installed cache acceleration mSATA 32 gig drive and it has the Intel Rapid Storage, just off acceleration partition. Can you find the control panel Intel Rapid Storage and reformatting the drive to 32 gig Accelerator? It will look something like this:
I suggest also just remove acceleration 32 gig of hard drive. You have really no more. You can not acclerate a SSD and shouldn't do anyway since having a main SSD is still faster than having the accelerator. See page 44 of the Manual:
If it's 'the Answer' please click on 'Accept as Solution' to help others find it.

With iCloud library enabled, you cannot delete a photo on a device (or iCloud.com) without deleting each device which uses iCloud photo library (iCloud.com). In order to save space on your mobile devices (and indeed your Mac if you want to) turn on the optimization of the pictures on these devices (settings > photos & camera > optimize storage on your mobile device and Photo preferences > optimize storage on your Mac)
Dynamic optimization, it reduces the resolution of your photos, if necessary, so that you don't notice it occurring initially. However, when necessary, it is very effective, and users have reported libraries being optimized for much less than 10% of their original size in some cases. My own library is about 9% of its original on my phone size.

HP personal media drive hp0000: remove the hard drive from the external area.
My external hard drive does not work and I would like to remove the drive from the external hard drive case. How to open the short cut through the plastic box? I have other cases of emjpty for the hard drive.
Access to the internal hard drive: methods and variants
(1) open the support HP Pocket Drive is as simple as peel back label hardened plastic on the end of usb connection and to extract both little phillip screws hidden. Once the removed screws the drive carrier will slide on the front of the case and the hard drive can be easily replaced.
(2) the same video
(3) it is very easy to detach. With a small flat screwdriver take the label on the back cover. This will reveal the 2 small Phillips head screw. Remove them and gently pull the back cover. Then gently push all inside the well hard drive that forward into the aluminum housing. Careful not to push the reader through the case and on the floor.
