    Regrettable that the problem exists.

Seems like a problem in the BIOS settings, it would be good to check with the manufacturer of the PC.

They might have more insight on this.

If you used the power switch, you can inadvertently damage your file system, so before wasting time to try a bunch of things, I could do this (or you may be wasting a lot of time to try things too):

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes the plug pulling, buttons power and removing the battery).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

There is zero logic to begin to try to begin to try to modify or copy files to a hard drive that has a corrupted file system, so this must first be fixed using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk on your hard drives may solve your problem completely.

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • Help invisible fixing file trash should be removed, the file has grown exponentially and hard disk space.

A few days ago, I deleted a file .mkv of the trash using CCleaner, as I usually do (this is my first problem with CCleaner). Although it seems as if the file was not successfully removed. Whenever I start Defraggler or CCleaner, I am aware of the file in question still exist on my hard drive, and as time has passed in the last days, the file has increased to exponenentially to the point that he can't because he filled my hard drive. Remember that this file, before I deleted it, was about 4 GB. It's somewhere in the region of 80 GB, I think. CCleaner can not delete it (although it is trying very hard), I tried to defrag it several times and I don't know what to do.

According to Defraggler, the file is located in C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-21-1458822887-3216967547-306807193-1000\

If anyone knows how I can remove this file from my hard drive, please let me know. Otherwise, I'll have to buy a new hard drive and move all the important data on it to the new.

actually just fixed. solution was to allow C:\$Recycle.Bin be seen (with options of folders in the control panel), then went in, deleted the trash (excluding all files desktop.ini and other important files, windows prompts me not not to remove). Voila, basket rest, excluding the massive file that was found to have taken more than 170 GB in the end.

    very happy right now.

  • Trying to fix Chkdsk from freezing to step 5 of 5 during a scan and trying to recover bad sectors and fixing file system errors

On this afternoon, I ran chkdsk to check and recover bad sectors and solve the system files and then frozen at 43% on step 5 of 5. I left it on through the night and I went to school and came back, she was still at 43%. Then manually shut my computer and since I tried to solve the problem. It was the second time I ran chkdsk on this pc having windows 7 generally run chkdsk every month or so to make sure that everything works well. After that my problem is that I tried so many things that I ran spinrite, I reinstalled windows, I tried to run chkdsk on safe mode, I tried sfc/scannow, and chkdsk/p and all these things has not fixed the problem. CHKDSK/p was the only thing that does not even tried to fix anything because it says invalid parameter. Also when I reinstalled windows 7 on my pc then chkdksk froze to 49% on step 5 of 5.  I even ran diagnostics from the bios and I use Seagate Seatools and two diagnostics says my hard drive is perfectly fine. I also tried running chkdsk in windows 7 cd and for some reason any he completed in less than 2 hours. I then ran chkdsk from the pc and then it froze again it made me think that there must be something wrong with my pc. So I was wondering how can I get chkdsk to complete my PC again once instead of using the windows 7 cd every time.

  • Problem with ODI 11 g and width fixed files

    Hi all,

I have a problem with a flat file with fixed length fields. I have reported all the correctly (it seems) and in the data preview, I see the correct data, unfortunately when I lounch my execution interface I get an error message saying that the size of the last filed is more than the declared. Looks like he is not able to understand the end of the recording is normal '0D0A '.

And I also have another question, anyone knows why inside my ODI Desiner I see always the same file also if I try to change the data inside? What is a clearance problem or a bug? I forgot to set something up in a certain place?

    Thank you in advance.

  • [SOLVED] Help fixing 'file two systems with the same uuid were detected.

I have a Setup ESXi embedded (installed on a USB key connected to the internal USB port) on a Dell T710 with few of the SAS drives.  I tried the upgrade to 4.0 - 294855 to 4.1 - 348481 by following the instructions here via:

    esxupdate--bundle=/vmfs/volumes/datastore_name/path/to/upgrade-from-esxi4.0-to-4.1-update01-348481.zip update

Even if it is done correctly, when I restarted I got a purple screen with this message on this subject:

The system has found a problem on your machine and cannot continue.

Two systems with the same UUID files have been detected.  Make sure that you do not have two installations of ESXi.

So, he tried to update one of the SAS drives internal versus inside USB key...?

I studied this time before & found a threadwhere posted to help, but it wasn't enough to get me going.  Tonight, I found KB1035107 which details how to fix this, but I have a few concerns:

    • How can I identify the drive that has the invalid ESXi installation?
    • Better yet: How can I identify who / disc is the one with the ESXi installation I want to keep?
      • I know that I can use esxcfg-mpath-l., esxcfg-mpath-band esxcfg-scsidevs-l to collect the disk & LUN information.  But what happens if it wasn't a built-in installation?  If ESXi was installed on one of the SAS drives, how could I confirm which drive it actually installed on?
    • What is the worst that could happen with the performance he commands in the KB above?
      • Do I need to worry about migration whatever data is stored elsewhere there until I can get through this?

Finally, and perhaps more important than these other issues:

It is for me a way to specify which disk/drive/device to target when executing upgrades, more precisely from 4.0 to 4.1?

How can I perform upgrades in the future without having to worry about this nonsense?  I don't want to have to disconnect from the LUN/warehouses of data whenever there is an upgrade (major or minor).

    Tao

    Tao,

Your problem is not LKM(External Table). You will need to set the interface diagram. Select each column in the pane "DataStore target" of the "Diagram" tab when you open the interface.
Mark "run" for each column to be on the "staging area".
Currently, you have all the columns marked in 'Source '.

    This will fix the problem.

    Hope that helps.
PS Don't forget to mark as good/useful solutions if you feel they were.
