"Flash cannot parse this document" - CS5 question

Help! I have a FLA that CS5 has apparently damaged on a backup... (When you load the FLA in CS5, it now fails and sends "Flash cannot parse this document" in the output window.)

Unfortunately I found the corrupt nature of the file once I had made my regular routine of backing up my files - which means that the saved file is ALSO corrupt. I'm shooting in the dark here, but is it possible that the FLA can be recovered? Desperate, because this is a project I did last month.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

See you soon,.

Ben.

Hello

We discovered that the file is damaged because of the empty structure in good following:

1. open the FLA in Flash CS4

2. open the library panel.

3. navigate to _movieclips & _gui/bitmap/_menu wheel/Gui_Wheel_ButtonOverlay_On and open it for editing in symbol mode.

4. Insert a keyframe in layer 2 of this movieclip.

5. save the FLA

Please send us your FLA so that we can narrow the problem.

You may have a corrupt fla.  try to create a new directory that has no subdirectory.  move the fla to the new directory.  Try and open the fla in the new directory.  If it fails, you have a corrupt fla, and in this situation, I think the best you can do is take your last working swf and decompile to create a fla work.

  • Flash cannot parse this document

    Hello

I use CS5 and received the error message on a file, I have worked on, stating that "flash can not analyze this document."  Searching the Internet I'm assuming that all my working hours are now lost.  Any help please to recover my document would be appreciated.  I don't see anyway to publish the document on the site for debugging.

    Wes

    You can

1 rename the fla in rar and use winrar to repair.  Rename the rar repaired a fla and see if flash pro can open

2 unrar the FLA renamed and recover a portion of the assets

    3. If you have a working swf, decompile (for example, using sothink decompiler).

I do not work on a network, but have been save the file to my desktop and it back to my network file when I am done Edit. But now its happening even with the local files on my desk. Did anyone else encounter this problem or found a fix?

    Hey mediachic,

We did a lot of troubleshooting for this issue, and WITHOUT help from Adobe, which support so that never. They just repeat what they don't support networks and advise to do not open or modify files on a network because he may / will cause corrupted files and not allow you to save. Try to save the file to a local drive or a flash drive and work on the project from there. So far, it is the only work around that we found for this but it isn't bulletproof. We have still a few users who are breaking in flash but not as often. In addition, make sure that there are no updates waiting for Flash if it is updated to Flash and reboot. Hope that helps. Good luck!

  • photo gallary cannot open this document

On my Vista 32 machine, when I receive a word document as an attachment in windows mail, it tries to open it in photo gallary rather than Word.  Why?

She did this because the file to .doc file association is with the photo gallery program and no word.  You have installed Word?  If so, try this: press the Windows key + R and type in the Open box:

    Winword.exe/r

Don't forget the space.  Press ENTER.  This should ask Word to rewrite its registry settings, including the file type associations.

  • There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and cannot be repaired.

    Greetings,

I searched the forums, and this mistake has been examined in the context of how to treat a damaged PDF file.

My question is a little different. The company that I am working has a tool to create what we call "knowledge base articles", i.e. product XML authoring with us help topics. They used this tool from 2008. Files can be attached to a topic. The XML files and attached PDF files is stored in a SQL database. Using the TOC Panel or the search function, relevant topics are retrieved.

When there is an attached PDF, users can view the PDF in the browser or download the file and open it locally.

The knowledge base has been moved from an environment of database SQL 2005 in Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6 for an environment database of SQL 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2008 R2, IIS 7.

Now that we have the following problem: in some subjects the downloaded PDF can't be opened and one error

"There is an error opening this document. The file is damaged and cannot be repaired. "is displayed. The curious is that some PDF files published this error, while others open without a problem. Source file all PDF files open without a hitch before they are downloaded.

Any advice or pointers would be very appreciated.

    TIA, Donna

    Donna,.

as you have probably read in a lot of discussions on this matter, this error message is usually correct, and the PDF file is damaged. As for how it gets damaged, it's something you need to know by poking around in your system. Here are a few general things that always apply when working with corrupt files:

The first thing I would do is open such a file corrupted in a text editor such as NotePad to see what it actually contains. Any valid PDF file must begin with '% PDF -' followed by a version number. If you don't see that in the first line, then you are not dealing with a PDF file and you know why you do not get the file saved in your knowledge base.

If this string is there, then you know that there a PDF file and the issue is somewhere in this file, and is where it gets much more complex. You will need a good understanding of the PDF specification to parse the file to see what is wrong with him.

If you're lucky, you'll actually have a file of length zero (which means also no PDF header). No valid PDF file cannot be zero bytes long. Your second chance case would you find in fact an HTML error in this file (instead of PDF content), that tells you the reason for the problem (but again, this depends on your system).

  • Flash the disk errors "cannot find this point, located more in the computer.

OK, I'm trying to copy a file to a flash drive.  It crashes when you try to copy and then gives me the error message "cannot find this point, located more in the computer.

I tried to drag and drop several different files and file types, and I get the same error message.

I tried several different flash drives and I get the same message. All flash drives that I tried on this computer work on other computers and I can drag and drop files on the flash drive.

I've tried several different USB ports on my computer and I still get this message.

Thus, the issue is not with my flash drive or the files I'm trying to copy because I tried several types of files and several different flash drives. I deleted the USB driver and reinstalled with no resolution.

    I use Windows 7 premium x 64

    Hello

History was working fine yesterday. Today, whenever I try to open one of my scripts, I get this error: "this document could not be parsed properly." I tried logging in and out in different browsers and get the same error message.

  • You cannot change the security on this document because the document is signed or certified.

I just downloaded the trial version of Adobe Acrobat DC Pro. Now he says all my pdf files are (SECURE), but I have not (knowingly) implemented a security on the files. My goal is to edit and save the documents.

I can fill in the forms, but when I go to save the document, an error message: "the document could not be saved. There was a problem reading this document (105). »

When I click on edit pdf in the right-hand sidebar one another error message "this form cannot be changed in Adobe Acrobat DC.» Please use Adobe LiveCycle Designer to modify this form. »

I don't want to download another program to have this work programme. I looked at the possible solutions on the internet, but nothing has been useful. I used Adobe Pro XI in the past and it worked fine. I was told to use it for work. I have a laptop Windows 8.

    Please advice.

If the form has been completed in LiveCycle Designer (assuming that the message is just), LiveCycle Designer is the only application that can be used to change these forms. This isn't a security problem and not a change to DC. (However, Acrobat X and below included a bundled copy of LiveCycle Designer - is no longer).

However, you can use Acrobat to fill OUT these forms, but not EDIT.
