Windows XP offline files won't let me uncheck a directory for synchronization

Hey all,.

Got a user I am trying to configure offline files for on our network, but to market it brands among its network grows as being sync had (make available offline is checked), but it won't let me uncheck (is dimmed).

When I look in some of the settings for offline files, I see an entry for our reader network basis as being a location that it syncs, but it won't let me see/deselect.  How I get this cleared out of there so I can choose the real one or two subdirectories needed?

OK, so with the help of an another TI Tech here, we finally managed to severe the link for all offline files.  Took forever to do.  Combination of several reboots with turn the offline files and deleting the stored files offline as well as disconnect and reconnect... readers network has been a huge pain in the...

I don't know if I would say technically that a 'response', but at least the problem has been solved...

  • Had to reinstall Windows and now Skype won't let me open a session.

So the SSD, I had 10 installed windows on seems to be dead (the PC crashed and then wouldn't start on the correct hard drive. The hard drive also would not put in evidence in the BIOS any SATA port I used), then I reinstalled since on a backup drive (after cleaning it of course). Everything else works fine, 0 connection problems, got all my main programs installed and works again. But it seems that no matter what I try, the Skype app won't let me log on.

This is the latest version, and I'm running IE11. I tried to reinstall, turn off the firewall, remove the file "shared.xml", removal of temporary internet files on IE... None of this fixed it. I also tried to create a new account from microsoft and it still wouldn't let me connect.

Thanks for your reply, but it turns out that all I had to do was to reset my router. I feel so stupid, it's usually one of the first things I do when troubleshooting connection problems - it just crossed your mind for any reason any. • In Windows 7 offline files will not activate

I have a very frustrating issue with one of our laptops, for which I can't find a solution anywhere:
This is a brand new laptop, and the last thing I want to do it after construction, it is to offer the user's network share offline.  I did it before on several other Windows 7 machines on our network with no problems.
However, when I try to activate offline files (from Sync Center, manage offline files), I get the message "offline files is enabled, but not yet active."  Rstart this computer to activate offline files. "I rebooted several times, but the same message every time.
I tried to disable, restart then the reactivation and reboot.  Same result.
I tried to look at the GPO settings to check that it doesn't stop there, what is not.
I've changed a registry key that forces a rebuild of database synchronization.  No change.
Someone at - it clues about where to look next?

Had already read these documents, but they do not address the issue, I had.  However, I found this answer worked:

    1. disable Offline Files (Panel\All Control Panel Items\Sync control center), click on 'manage offline files' then click on disable.
    2. restart the computer
    3. delete the folder (C:/Windows/CSC) CSC.  NOTE: you may need to change the permissions on the folder of the CCS to do this, and once this is done, you must delete all the folders in the first CSC folder (beginning with the farthest in and work your way), because the system, you cannot delete a folder that still has nothing on the inside.  Once you have all the files in the CSC folder deleted, delete the folder CSC itself.
    4 enable offline files.
5 restart the computer.  The CSC folder - with its parameters by default, etc., will be rebuilt now and when right click on a network folder, the 'always available offline' option should appear.

  • Windows Media Player 11 won't let Me add or remove music

As the title WMP11 says doesn't let me add music to the library or delete everything. Of course, I tried to 'Add to library' under 'file', but nothing comes and nothing sticks. Also, when I make a playlist and try to save it, it disappears. Please help, I do not understand why it doesn't work. I have Windows Vista Premium. :(

This occurs usually when playing your media library is corrupted.  See to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base Article:

You cannot view, add, or delete items in the library of Windows Media Player 11
To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:
    Exit Windows Media Player.
    For Windows XP:

Click Start, run, type %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

    For Windows Vista:

Click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
Select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
    Restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:
    Exit Windows Media Player.
If you are running Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft and then click OK.

If you are running Windows Vista, click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.

  • Ask Windows Update to install the Vista SP2, which was installed years ago and won't let me install Live Essentials for the same reason.

Windows Update is now always ask to install the Vista SP2, which was installed years ago. When you try to install through Windows Update, it concludes the installation like ok, then once again it shows in Windows Update. When I try via stand-alone, it is said that SP1 is not installed. Of course, it is. In any case tried to reinstall and he wrote is already installed. I'm sure I installed both SPS long ago, but none of them show in the updates installed. It's probably something in the registry. Properties system shows SP1. Ah, I use Vista Home Premium 32-bit.

  • Windows 7 offline files don't sync not completely

    Hello

We have one user who takes his laptop in Africa to do work and I had problems with the use of offline on his computer files.  It should be noted that it worked perfectly well on a laptop Windows XP but was nothing else than to problems with the computer laptop win 7 pro 64.

Here's the breakdown.  Each user has its own network folder (H:\) where they can store documents and everything else while it is supported by our server.  His H:\ is very large and a H:\Documents file I have hard right clicking on make available offline.

Sync center starts and they sync is in progress, no error message, but when I check back the next day (about 70 GB in synchronize) I see that everything is not always available when I check availability offline.

I don't know what I'm missing here... It even does not show the file if I go in Sync Center and he discovers synchronization partnerships...

Many worked for another computer... any help would be appreciated!

  • 6520 everything in a single analysis won't let me check the box for the preview or scan as a separate file

I would like to analyze more than 1 photo at a time, but the preview or scan separate file box is there but will not let me check this function so it will separate the photos when they scan... Thanks for any help.

The feature you're talking about is not what you think it does. This feature just ensures that every scanned image is separated from the others. The ability to place multiple images on glass and have them scanned in the form of different images, which is what I think that you are looking for, was removed in the software. I'm sorry.

I have users who use the offline files feature so that they can work on files of network when the network.  After using my credential and working on a user's computer yesterday, copies of my files from home drive now appears in the user drive home.  Of course, this is not acceptable.  It could reveal sensitive or confidential information to the wrong person.

Can someone tell me how this can happen?  The offline files cache should not be shared between different users of the same machine, right?  I connect in machines of so many people while ensuring support and cannot have copied my personal files in the home directories of others.  FYI, remap us the My Documents shortcut to the user's home or the H: drive.

What can I do to prevent that from happening again?

    Hello

Create a bootable USB drive or DVD from the .iso in Windows 8:

    http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2227-create-bootable-USB-DVD-Windows-8-release-preview-ISO.html

Then start under it and install.

If you do not format anything during installation, all your old files will be placed in folder C:\Windows.old.

You can then copy what you want to keep, get out of here.

After that, you can use the disk cleanup utility to remove this folder if you check the box to do this.

    Enjoy.
