  Director MX2004 will not work with a .swf Flash CS3/AS3 file. With the help of an external css file should be no problem. You need connect the .swf and import not directly in the Director movie.

  Works for me in Director 11.0.3.466 on Windows XP Pro SP3, but you did not provide all the information, so it is difficult to know why it wouldn't work for you.

  You don't make it easy to download the SWF (like, place it in a zip archive) and you explain that "[t] works" - If you want others to help you, you should be much more useful.

• Flash Volume to the Director

  I have a number of flash files in .swf format I need to integrate into a film by Director. I would want the user is able to adjust the voume of them through Director but cannot find a way to adjust the volume of files flash via Lingo. I understand that if I had the original .fla files so I could assign the volume to a variable and manipulate through Lingo, but I did not.
  
  sound (1) .volume does not work, probably locks the sound of flash files is not performed by the ways of its Director. I'm pretty new to Flash but comfortable with Lingo so is there anything opbvious that I'm missing?

• Flash getURL links work when SWF is embedded to the Director?

  I have a simple test platform that said no, the links no longer work. All this works?
  
  My test bench includes two buttons in Flash, you get a PDF from a remote server, the other opens a PDF locally on my hard drive.
  
  When played from the Flash drive, the local link works fine, the remote link looks like it would work if I was willing to change my security settings and restart.
  
  When they are incorporated into the Director both links are inactive.
  
  And, even if it is not terribly relevant, when the SWF file is read remotely via a browser, the remote link works
  

  Your Flash .swf is expected to be housed in a HTML doc, and so a getURL function is tried to reach out to the browser. When you import your .swf in a film by the Director, the film's Director takes the place of the browser window. If your function does not in a browser. This is compounded if you play the .swf from a Director projector because there is no immediately available browser.

  There is a simple solution. You can use the getURL me, string function in Director to intercept the url.

  So if your Flash animation has something like this:

• See the directories but no files after downloading

  Installed my Media Hub and install a 2nd drive successfully.  When I insert the USB stick and 32 GB sandisk flash drive data, the device announcement download is finished.  But when I look at the directory structure, the new directories are in place, but I don't see any file.  Do not understand what is happening.

  I think that mediahub will alone importing media (avi, wmv, mp3, etc.), it will not import any multimedia files (txt, doc, ppt.exe, etc...). You will need to copy and paste no media files manually. I find the files it can import the same types of files located on the list below.

  I work with Flash CS5.5 and I need to send data to the Director. I used this command before getURL ("lingo: sprite (15) .visible = TRUE'");

  but now does not work.

  If you try to use AS3, navigateToURL is the substitute of AS2 getURL.  Find it in the help documentation to see how to use it.

  I'm fighting to get started on a project. There are several ways to go about this, but I want to make it more realistic and more epic as possible. In other words, using Director rather than Flash.

  On a basic level, I have a series of short animations 3D 50-60, I don't want the user to select and display with a complete mastery of the position of the camera around the scene.

  I use Autodesk Maya to the scene, but I have no idea how to get an object or animation in Director, then start to work. What types of files should I be using and stuff?

  I'm still in the design and planning for the moment so more interested to know if this is possible. But assistance would also be useful to me.

  the animations are imported, your 3d program. in your Mayan case. When I say its good animation. I mean its good to import and play back exactly as it appears in your 3d software. Director channels similar to flash layers are really not so different. remember your dealing with 3d. You can scale or move the entire scene / member through code or keyframes.

  Director not to make normal or bump mapping. you will have to do what you can with medium low-poly characters. I created techniques to deal with this. Here is one. you will need to enter your mental ray scene in a texture so that it appears in the Director

  I've been hitting my head against the wall trying to figure out how I would do the equivalent to the Director:
  In Flash, I have a movie with 2 clips of film. 1 clamp is a book of questions and depending on how you answer an animation runs in the other clip. For the end user, it looks like a single screen on the same background.

  could easily use sequential images. You can still use single sprite
  channels for each item.

  Hi Janetc69,

  I had the same problem, after having informed me with a few mags of PC online, I simply uninstalled Adobe flash player in my laptop.
  Since then, I got no problem with playback of videos with firefox browser. What more, it seems to work better than before.
  Anyway most of the browsers are slowly remove Adobe flash player on their systems.
  If this does not work you can always reinstall Adobe, try it.

• Why my Firefox flashed to all the time?

  I installed the latest version of Firefox on the official site, I'm also re install the flash player for it but who do not have a lot.
  Because of flash player, I can see the videos, images GIF etc in Firefox but can't stop flashing Firefox. It is consistently flashing and it flashes most during navigation, especially, when he opened in the background also flashing all over the screen.

  Looks like this could be linked to the graphic acceleration and hardware. Please consider the following:

  Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

  You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

  Then perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Firefox Options (Preferences on Mac or Linux) as follows:
     • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

       

       then select Options Preferences on Mac or Linux, or Windows.

     • In 28.0 Firefox and earlier versions, click on the Firefox orange upper-left button, then select the 'Options' button or, if there is no button up Firefox, go to tools > Options.
  2. In the window of Firefox Options (or preferences), click on the Advanced tab, and then select general.
  3. You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
  4. Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

• Flash Player on the transition to Windows 7

  I've just updated my operating system from Windows XP to Windows 7 Pro (SP1). I can't install Adobe Flash plugin for fire Fox and Seamonkey on Windows 7. I managed to install Flash internal Explorer, and Chrome.

  I have tried many remedies offered on your web site and various blogs - all without success. They included uninstalling Ad-blocking, suspending the firewalls and Antivirus systems, uninstall and reinstall Flash etc. I am currently on version 16 of Flash.

  With Windows XP Flash worked on all browsers without any problems. I use the same Dell 9200PC without modification.

  Is there any fix that I missed this annoying problem?

  The problem is now resolved, do not know how...

  I think it was the force gross, just kept asking read movies and returned to Adobe error report. Think I must have upset them enough!

• Button in the grid of the Mall in the upper right corner of the page that enables / disables images on and outside, in a new tab is missing how I get it back?

  I had a problem with some malware/adware software at the moment where I removed it, it had amended much of Firefox.

  I managed to fix everything except the thumbnails of the sites frequently used on a new tab. I know that there should be a 3 x 3 grid in the upper right corner, but it does not show. How can I get this back, please?

  You can reset the browser.newtab.url through the context menu on the default (subject: newtab) to get the new page of tabs with thumbnails.
