• How to get started with Obj oriented AS3? (Flash help seems broken)

  OK, I won't be the noob who does not read the manual and ask stupid questions, but I'm stuck here. It's been long since I had no experience real flash (Flash 5 in depth) and a small Flash 8. But now, my work has led me in some flash work & I'm basically from scratch. I am trying to get just a simple SWF to load an external class and have the class retrun value of a method.

  Under most of the cases I would have been skeptical of the passage of an argument when nothing is defined, but I thought I had heard (way back to AS 2) AS being based on some sort of JavaScript rules so I thought maybe that didn't matter. And unfortunately, this error was not my fault for typing, its actually printed this way in the Flash help (see: getting started with ActionScript > example: creating a basic application).

• New Flash - help please!

  Hello community, I'm very new to using the flash (approx. 1 week) and have a few questions.

  1. I was the creation of symbols to my library, but how to create a symbol WITH an animation in the annex? I create movie clip symbols and animate, but the symbol in the library is not animation, just graphics.

  2. my second question is what is the workflow when creating a flash animation? Make you every asset separately and animate separately, then put them all together? Or well, you create all the assets in a single project and animate as you move forward?

  I would appreciate if you guys can help me.

  1. If you create a movieclip symbol you can change its calendar (or code) comes alive as an autonomous object that lives in the library.  Just create a new MovieClip symbol and build the animation in the timeline and you should find it is what you have in the library.   If that is not clear to you... Create a movieclip symbol and then double click it in the library of... to open it for editing where you can see his chronology is waiting for you to build in.

  2. There is no fixed forumla for the design of animations in a Flash file.  Just learn to create and you will you will hopefully, see how you can use different approaches for different effects.

• large probems weird flash, help?

  I installed and re installed flash player.  It shows as installed on my pc (hp pavilion dv7-6 c-95dx intel Windows 7), but when I go online tells me it is not installed and I am often directed to a site called biz-coaching, who wants to download a flash player to me.  I ran malware and virus scans many times and no worries there.  Help. Please?

• Import buttons, then changing in Flash help

  Howdy,

  I'm a noob in Flash and watched some basic tutorials to help me get started on the basics. I bought a Flash button that when more wriggle a an expolsion of fireworks. This source is reliable as I bought here from the store of MMFILES.com and is a production of Patrick Jansen Design.

  I give myself 6 buttons of each with different types of explosion. All I'm doing is change the text to fit a menu bar that I've created in Dreamweaver.

  For the life of me I can't understand these basic instructions.

  1. unzip the .zip file.

  2. open flash CS3 or higher

  3. open fireworks_button.fla

  Firworks component 4. drag"button"library of .fla fireworks_.fla to the new .fla library you want to use it in.

  5.Drag component 'Fireworks button' at the new library of .fla with fireworks on the new scene/canvas of the new .fla

  6. Select the component button with fireworks on stage and the open Component Inspector

  7. choose "setting"Button text"text button should display.

  8 set the other to love you.

  OK, I'm confused is in steps 4 to 6.

  I have 1 window open in flash above my scene that I have 2 HTML documents to pass. firework_button and the one I created without title-1

  Here is where I have my problem. I can go to the library of fireworks and made button drag to a new created library in Untitles-1, but when I drag on stage can't find any inspector comoponent. I go to the window and open component of the inspect "Shift + F7" and he is not there and said to select instance to change its settings. "

  from here, I've tinkered autour dominating in the property for example window name, but it just keep opening up more choices when I click something like change the text. I don't know I've spent hours on it, and all I want to do is change the text of the buttons.

  Once you open the Inspector, click on your button component to select it.  now, check the Inspector panel.  It should give options as described by the author of the component.

  If it's not, and you will see that "check the properties panel, open the control panel (window/properties) properties, click the component to select it and check the properties panel."  You may need to scroll down the properties panel, and you may need to open sub-panels.

• Flash help! get rid of the stage

  I have my flash doc and I used a mask to give angles rounded TI, but you can still see the color of the scene. I'm new to Flash so I can use the help. How can I get rid of this or you can even do this?

  If it's for display on the Web, AND you have not created a certain kind of massive rectangle object as a background drawing... you have only the background color of doc as a background, you use a wmode to make the background transparent when displayed on a Web page:

  Window mode (wmode) - what is it for?
  There are three modes of window.
  Window
  Opaque
  Transparent
  By default, Flash Player gets its own hWnd in Windows. This means that the Flash animation actually exist in an instance of display in Windows who lives above the basic browser display window. So if it seems to be in the window of the browser, technically, it's not. It is more efficient for Flash in this way to draw and it is faster and more efficient rendering mode. However, it is drawing regardless of the browser HTML rendering surface. This is why this default mode (which equals wmode = "window") does not good composition with DHTML layers. That is why your drop-down JavaScript menus happen behind your Flash animation.
  (As opaque) window mode, Flash Player is not an hWnd. This means that the browser tells the Flash Player, when and where to draw on the surface of the own browser rendering. The Flash animation is no longer are made at a higher level if you want to. It's right there in the page with the rest of the elements on the page. Flash buffer is simply drawn in the rectangle of the said browser, with any scene space Flash not occupied by objects with the background color of the movie no matter what.

  So setting the 'transparent' in the publication settings or add it manually in the embed code.

• Need Flash help.

  Hey guys this is my first post on these forums, but I hope you guys can help me learn.
  Okay, so my problem at the moment, I do a roll over flash file, it contains 3 roll over buttons on the left panel, and each brings a piece of unique text. I have problems with becomes one of the buttons to stay in place when the webpage loads but then changes if you choose another roll button. Also, I want the text for each button to stay up if I let the roll button on box, but it turns into the other if is hit the button a different reversal.

  Here is an example of the coding, where you give your movieclips mcBtn1 instance names, mcBtn2, etc...

  I recommend that you use Google for a tutorial to explain the approach using movieclips as buttons so that you have a better idea of what you need to prepare.  Use the search terms such as "AS3 movieclip button tutorial.

  1009 error indicates that one of the objects targeted by your code are out of reach.  This may mean that the object...
   
  n ' is not in the display list
  n ' is not have an instance name (or the name of the instance is misspelled)
  n ' is not in the frame where this code tries to talk to her
  -is animated in place, but is not assigned the name of the instances of each keyframe for her
  -is one of the two or more consecutive keyframes of the same objects without a name assigned in the image previous (s).
   
  If you go to your section to publish the Flash settings and select permit debugging option, your error message should have a suite of line number the number of the frame that will help you to isolate the object that is involved.

  Since you say that you move things in, I suspect the 4th listed element could relate to your problem, but it could be one of them.

• Beginner Flash help, with the combination of files / Tween

  First of all, I'm new here so please don't beat me so bad!  And again to Flash, so I don't quite know the best way to do things and have probably taken a long journey around this project!  in any case, here's what I have.

  I have developed a track of portable tanks in a single .fla file.  This file has a basic structure and a bunch of pieces of rail using a tween on a track all about trajectory to make them look like the tank will be moving when you are finished.

  

  I have it the way I like it at the moment, but my question is.  I want to take advantage of this and place it in another file and resize it and rotate and move as one piece.

  I don't know how to do this, and at this point, I can't even across the entire piece down (track motion tweens and frame).

  Any help would be greatly appreciated and sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

  Hello and welcome. (I'm fairly new as well.)

  All you have to do is select all the songs you've created and go to modify > convert to symbol and make a video. If you are not familiar with clips, you should really check the help and tutorial files because they are the heart and soul of Flash (in my mind).

  The page loads, but no action.  Please tell me what I'm missing or doing wrong.

  No matter how you get variables - text file using URLLoader or FlashVars - you need to present them as a url query string. In the query, string equal - not colon - is used to separate pares them.

  Flash cannot directly read the PHP script variables. Again, you must return the text.

  In PHP, your index file should be something like:

• CFFORM. Flash helps positioning

  I want to create a form with 3 vertical columns beside. All labels/controls are aligned in a column.
  I can't get the form to look right.
  
  The following gives me all the < cfinput > s in a vertical column Although everything is aligned. I though that's what the documentation told to do.

  Thanks for the help. I finally got the correct page layout using hbox and vbox. Go through the docs it says you need to use horizontal and vertical for hbox/vbox for containers and controls. Well. This works.

• I think I messed up my flash help! =(

  OK, when I create a new document and I select something like the rectangle tool and create a shape, the fill is separated from the race, so when I want to move the shape around the stage I drag my mouse around it, and I can't seem to send a form behind or in front of another, please! can anyone help, I've had this problem for a while now and I can't find a solution to this

  You seem to be describing a normal behavior for the "gross" in flash forms. I have
  assume that you have become accustomed to use (a little drawing objects
  introduced in flash 8) and accidentally turned off. The object drawn
  Auto-Groupes essentially of the shapes/features... You will find the drawn object
  button under options in the tools Panel when the drawing tools are selected, and
  of course, it is documented in the help of flash. -Tom Unger

  Hello. I'm new Flash action script is not so simple. I have an action script that does not prevent my clip to the last image and when it starts the clip, it begins with the last image. Please let me know where should I place a STOP() or you can refer me to someone or somewhere where I can get immediate help.

  In Flash CS3, I created a film of splash for my Web site. At the end of the timeline, I have a single image with an AS3 script block. The problem is when the flash animation reached governing, it exerts a strange behavior. Here is my code:

  Hello

  On the chart of your graph settings page, set use Custom XML to Yes. Then in the XML custom setting, scroll to the column_chart tag and there you will see the block_space attribute - change this value according to your needs and apply the changes.
