FN keys do not work on Satellite L10 - 103

Hello

I have a problem whit my fn keys.
the problem is.
My fn keys are not working properly, some work, some don't. and those who are not against hepatitis has the little sign on the screen.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L10 103

Sorry for my bad English
I hope you can help me
see you david

Hello

In my opinion your FN buttons do not work properly because of missing drivers.
Do you agree with me?

So the only solution may be to visit European driver of Toshiba and reinstall the software.
Drivers and tools are in the area of the Archive of the European driver page.

I recommend to install first the common Modules and then follow the installation instructions in install Instructions txt file.

By the way; These themes have been discussed here several times. So search first.

Good bye

  • Some keys do not work in Satellite C850-B374 bought in April 2013

[I noticed that the BACKSPACE key and] support key and + = equal to the key, enter key does not work. It did not work when I bought the pc.

These keys were not working from the moment that I bought the computer. This is a drawback that I can't use the BACKSPACE key.
How to activate these keys in this laptop?

    > It did not work when I bought the pc.
Why do you keep cell phone if there is a problem? In this case, you must ask for the replacement and exchange it.
In any case, contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They must check the functionality of the keyboard and in the worst cases swap the keyboard.

To be honest, I can't imagine that there is a software related problem. All you can do is check if the new BIOS update is available or reinstall OS to see if this will help. In my opinion you should not do this. Laptop is new with warranty for Toshiba service should fix this for free of course.

    Hello

The FN keys to install the package of added value and utility to Support Flash Cards. They control the FN keys combination.

According to your image of installed applications you have added already installed package but I can t see Flash Cards Support utility. I guess you forgot to install then you should check the Toshiba Web site again for this tool. Download and install the FN keys and it should work again.

Regarding HWsetup: you have a new mainboard? Has something changed about the hardware on your computer?

    I have a satellite Pro R50 - B preloaded with Win 7 Pro.
On the bottom row of the keyboard the second key to the left is a FN key.
Press and hold the FN button active the function keys on the top row.
I think that's how its supposed to work.
If you cannot use the function keys, it could be linked to the FN key.

    Hello

FN feature cannot stop working without any reason. Can you please what you did with your laptop last? The quickest option is to roll back OS to an earlier time using System Restore tool.

Otherwise, you can try to install TOSHIBA common Modules again. To download check the Toshiba download page.

  • After replacemant keyboard keys do not work on Satellite Pro L100

    Hello

I have problems replacing my laptop to a Toshiba Satellite Pro L100 keyboard. I adapted my laptop with a keyboard replacement brand new, it is detected by windows. But when I press any button, nothing happens.

It was the same problem with my previous keyboard. There is nothing broken inside the laptop or the clip that I can tell. But I can't understand why it does not work since I installed the keyboard properly.

My computer detects only external keyboards (when I connect it to a USB keyboard). I checked the BIOS and the keyboard is turned on.

Did someone knows what I could or should do? Please help me, thank you.

    Hello

Sorry, he says, but it's not easy to say why the keyboard does not especially the dysfunction of the keyboard is related to the hardware problem laptop

But I wonder why you did not contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba?
To my knowledge, the satellite Pro L100 is not an oldie and security must be still valid and each replacement repair or part of the laptop should be done for free.
Then why have you tried to replace the keyboard by yourself?

I recommend to ask the guy to service to help immediately

    Hello

There are only two cards possible Wlan you may have; Intel or Atheros WLan card.

    In my opinion you have a _Intel_ WLan card;

    You know Toshiba WLan Portal?
You will find all WLan drivers and some useful documents in the FAQ:
    http://APS.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

It s worth to take a look on this portal.

  • DEL key does not work on Satellite A200-1AX

I have a problem with the key "DELETE" on A200.1AX. It has just stopped working.

I had not hit anything or touch anything below the button. I didn't even move the laptop to the table. The laptop is 4 months old. I have Windows XP Professional installed, with all the appropriate drivers and bios update for this OS. At the beginning of this problem the button sometimes works sometimes not, and then at the end it just stopped. Please help me if you can because I really need this key to my work.

    Hello

Is that it of not possible to replace the single keyboard buttons.
In most cases, the entire keyboard needs to be replaced.

It seems that the guarantee is valid and the replacement must be done for free.
If I were you, I would contact the ASP in your country and ask for help.

  • FN keys do not work on Satellite A205-SP5816 XP

How can I install hotkey in a205-s5816? All are working fine but the keyboard Fn shortcut does.
I installed the common module, a utility control but does not...

    Why?

    Hi Daniel

It seems that it s American notebook series designed for the American market.
I'm not sure how it works on an American machine, but on the European models of Toshiba (i.e. Sat A200) an update of the version of the BIOS XP would be required for the FN keys work!

I think you should visit the Toshiba page we should check if a BIOS XP is available.

Here is the link to the Toshiba page we:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_modSel.jsp

If you can find the BIOS XP then download and update in order to get the functionality of the FN button.

  • The function key does not work on Satellite A300 (PSAG4E)

    Hello!

    I have laptop Satellite A300-PSAG4E
I had installed sp3 WinXPPro on it. All great, but some problems with keys appeared.
    First - 6 functional keys above main keyboard (1 - light (?), 2 - multimedia player (?), 3 - play/pause, 4 - stop, 5 - prev, 6 - then) just change light when they pressed, but in OS, there is no action.
Second - by pressing the Fn key and, e.g. F2 cause no action

All drivers and programs has been downloaded and installed from toshiba support center. Should what information I provide to solve this problem?

    Hey,.

What you mean exactly if you write about the replacement of the lamp if you press the buttons of enlightenment? Change the color or what's happening exactly on the laptop?
Normally the buttons of the illumination and the XP to Toshiba control controls pilot, utilities, etc.

Using the FN + F2 key combination you can change between the profiles of different powers. Therefore, you need Toshiba Power Saver that can be downloaded on the page of Toshiba. It s really a tool where you can adjust the power and cooling settings.

  • Shortcut keys does not work on Satellite L755-18Z - Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello world

I'm trying to start an application by pressing a combination of shortcut keys assigned, but nothing happens.

Sorry, but I think that no one here can help you. If you have problems with Toshiba related things, we can chat about it, but the use of some custom applications can not be supported.

    Thank you
    Marco

    Hello

Please check if you can change the settings on the special function key mode in the BIOS.
Usually this option allows you to use the function keys without pressing the FN key.

Play with this setting and don t forget to save the changes to the BIOS.

Also ensure that the BIOS is already up-to-date and the VAP has been properly installed.
