Font used in Flash Player

Hi people,

Need a bit of help here. I'm running OS X 10.6.6 on a MacBook Pro newish. I got some problems with Flash months there are experiences, but don't think much. He always plays the video very well, so no real problems here. However, the text is the big problem. For example, there is a video player with different links on many local news sites, video reports. While I can see the image of the video and watch the video, I can't see any text that describes the video. In many cases, I don't see even the words Play or Pause. I know that something should be there, but it never really bothered me until now.

I signed up for Weight Watchers and they use Flash quite strongly to their site to save points, followed by food, weigh, etc.. The Flash page that appears for me does not amount of text at all. It seems that there are also a few layout problems. It is as if a large part of the Flash application is missing. I tried to uninstall Flash Player and reinstall after rebooting. No dice. Not only that, but now Safari wouldn't recognize the plug-in. I finally gave up and decided that it must be something in my system. So I restored OS X over the existing installation (not remove and install) and did all the updates of software and yet once installed Flash. No dice. Nothing has changed. Untouched places where the text should be. Even the global settings and the settings box were all screwed up.

So I headed over here and saw that there is a version 10.2 beta available. I thought that maybe it would be useful. I installed it and now there seems to be more text where there were none before. Presentation problems seem to have disappeared too. However, it is not yet all there. So, while I see most of the Flash page, I still don't see any of this, only some places where I know the text should be. I can fly over some of this invisible text and a window pops up (apparently with invisible text also), so I know that something should be there. Still can not get the settings either box. I was about to give up and thought I would try it on another account on the same computer.

And, it works fine on the other account. No problems. The entire Flash page load and looks great. It works without problem. Any missing text of the video players are there. The settings box has all its text as well.

I'm pretty convinced now that the issue should be a matter of police in my folder on my account. This leads to the question: what font is used mainly in Flash? Specifically, what font is used mainly in the settings area, since it is the police that does not appear in my user account. It is a sans serif font. I can see the police serif. I would like to know what I can help out my Fonts folder and try to solve this problem. Someone has an idea, or you can offer me a different suggestion to solve the problem?

Thank you!!

Joe

Hi, I can direct you to this thread and look at the answer in Post #4. It worked for someone else and the person who started the thread.

There was another long post later, but not sure about that. I'd go with the one that has worked and has been marked as answered.

Hope that works for you,

    1. If it doesn't happen on a movie that you look at, it could be as simple as the fact that it is a poor quality clip

    2. If the sound is out of sync on everything that you look at first try the simple fixes.

Check your pc resources... If you have many pages open for a period of time, your free memory

  • Opening files using Adobe Flash Player 10.3.181.23 FLV

    Hello

I have with me some YouTube FLV files - so I was searching for Flash players could open these files.

I would like to ask if this version of Flash Player 10.3.181.23 does work? Are there other steps should I take before opening these FLV files?

My computer is Windows XP; and complies with the requirements of system for the use of Flash drives.

Looking forward to your new directions in this forum.

    Kind regards.

    You mean local FLV files?

No, Flash Player is unable to play, even the standalone player.  You need Adobe Media Player to read these.

AMP is no more available for download on the Adobe site; you will need to download it from some sites to download 3rd - party.

I run Windows XP and have updated it quite regularly.  Since the September update Adobe Flash Player, I was not able to play Youtube videos.  I can get on YouTube but when I click on a video to my computer crashes.  I tried updates of Adobe since then and they are no better.  Wondered if Microsoft has a flash drive that works.

Could be a toolbar or an addon that is the cause of the crash. I would like to scan your system with a virus scanner. See if you have malware. If it bluescreens, what say? It shows the name of a file or a driver?

  • Can Mozilla to improve the compatibility of Firefox with Adobe through the pepper based Flash Player Chrome uses

I noticed recently that when using Firefox I can't (yet) to watch videos of Australian Broadcasting Corporation by using their site ABC Iview (www.abc.net.au/iview). I think it's because my current version of Mozilla Firefox on Ubuntu 12.04 (Linux) uses Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.400 (according to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) but Adobe says it's the latest version, they will produce for the Linux operating system, and they won't even publish versions for Linux. However, the ABC said on their website that I need Adobe Flash Player 11.7 + for their video streaming - see http://iview.abc.net.au/support/faqs.

So, my desire to use Firefox, because I support their principles is stuck by Adobe and ABC set (ie. by anti-competitive acts by Adobe and the stupidity of the ABC!)

My only option is to use Google Chrome, but I largely prefer to use Firefox. I wonder if Mozilla Firefox will see if they can use "pepper based Flash player" that uses chrome, or is this something that Google has the copyright for.

I might post screenshots of errors I get trying to watch ABC iview attached, but they seem particularly relevant and in any case, I don't see how to add images to this issue.

    Yours,

If Windows object to save the changes because of permissions, try this way:

    (1) in a window of my computer or Windows Explorer, open this folder:

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

If this folder does not exist, then you are using 32-bit Windows, and you can open the following folder instead:

    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash

(Note: this folder exists on Windows 32-bit and 64-bit, but on 64-bit Windows Firefox use the Flash player in the place SysWOW64 folder.)

    (2) check a file named mms.cfg:

    (A) If mms.cfg exists, drag it in your Documents folder , where you can change it without being bothered on administrator privileges

    (B) If there is no such thing as mms.cfg open your Documents folder, right click > new > text file and the name of the new file mms.cfg

    (3) mms.cfg Documents opened in a text editor such as Notepad. Add this on its own line (I have the latter):

    ProtectedMode=0

Save the file and close Notepad.

    (4) press and hold the Ctrl and the mms.cfg file reglisser to the Flash folder to make a copy, keep the original documents

This change should take effect the next time you restart Firefox (allow a few minutes for all the Flash of the processes in memory to terminate right out of Firefox).

  • Flash Player Plugin tries to access internet arriving on account login pages

    Firefox 24.0
Adobe Flash Player Plugin 11.8 r800
    Software firewall: ZoneAlarm

My firewall is set to "Manual control" and I get warnings for all attempts to access from the Internet.
Firefox is already granted outbound access to the Internet, so I surfed without additional warnings. So if I go on YouTube, I can watch videos without receiving a prompt from my firewall.

However when I visit a secure account login page (where I have to enter my username and PW) the firewall warns me that 'Firefox tries to use Adobe Flash Player 11.8 r800 to access the Internet.

A prompt like this is provided by the firewall when a program uses another Internet access. If for example I click on a link in MS Excel, the firewall will tell me that Excel tries to use Firefox to access the Internet.

    Makes me concerned is:
    (1) Firefox already has access privileges. It should not "use Flash to access the internet.
    (2) this happens when I am about to use the keyboard to enter sensitive data in a secure page
    (3) there is no [apparent] Flash elements on the login pages.

Could I have acquired a malicious Flash software that tries to collect the keystrokes and transmit somewhere? Is there a way to show (in Firefox) which Flash file works at some point? (This would let me distinguish what is what makes the access attempt)

I am completely protected with Antivirus, anti-spam and breach prevention software. I also run Norton Power Eraser to see if there was anything at the root level. Nothing found.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Pages can use Flash, even when there is no video is displayed. For example some sites use Flash for menus, some for audio and some may load Flash in their Google Analytics scripts so that they know as much as possible on your system.

In most cases, the Flash Player will try to load a. SWF file, even if maybe it's not always easy. You might look for it in the Firefox Web Console.

When viewing the page, press Ctrl + Shift + k, the reload of the page. If there is a request to support Flash on the page, it should appear in the console (if the request is blocked by a firewall, it must nevertheless appear as pending a request). There is a search/filter box where you could try to enter .swf to reduce the time needed to go through the list. You can find the URL of the requested file? That might or might not make you comfortable on demand.

  • HO to prevent blocking of Flash player firefox

    Dear all,

I can't get Firefox to use Adobe Flash Player 5.0. When I run http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ I still see the message "for your security, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please install the latest version. "The thing is, I have the latest version of the Flash (10.3.181.34) plugin installed. I tried to uninstall the Flash plug-in (including using uninstaller form Adobe's Web site) and install it again (there is no error reported during installation) without effect.

Here is some more information in case it is necessary:
+ Installed Firefox 5.0 after a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The computer is on a Windows domain.
+ I copied some files manually (bookmarks, etc.) in the newly created profile
+ I did it when you are prompted to install Flash player. The facility had no effect that Firefox guard asks me to install the plugin.
+ Other plugins work well (I have a limited set of standard plugins).
+ I tried reinstalling Firefox (still an old version 3.6.18) and the problem persists.
+ I manually added the entry "dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll" in about: config, no effect
+ There is no mention of Flash in everything: plugins

I've exhausted the solutions I've seen suggested in various places on the web. I would be very happy if someone could help me with this problem - I love Firefox, but it is impossible to switch to another browser whenever I need to display Flash content.

    Best,
    S.

I had what I believe to be the same problem, but with Windows XP. I always seem to have problems with Flash, but has actually been able to solve this one, so I created an account just to pass along what I've done.

It's pretty simple in the end. I copied NPSWF32. DLL (which was in C:\windows\system32\macromed\flash) in C:\program files\mozilla plugins.

Restarted Firefox and there he was, even that was updated in the plugincheck.

I think that there is a problem with Firefox 5.0.1 and the Adobe installer from the Adobe installer seems to reference the Plugin registry key in HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Firefox\extensions (and, in addition, HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla extensions). Since Firefox 5.0.1 creates a new location, HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Firefox 5.0.1 Setup Adobe never puts the DLL file in the right place, because it does not find the key to the plugin to tell him where to put the DLL file.

You can see this in the Flashinstall.log in the windows system folder. Here was mine:

    0001 [W] 00001037 SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins\@adobe.com/FlashPlayer/ 2
    0002 [W] 00001036 Software\Mozilla\Firefox\extensions/Plugins 2
    0003 [W] 00001036 Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Firefox\extensions/Plugins 2
    0008 [I] 00000014 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32.dll
    0009 [I] 00000015 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil10u_Plugin.exe
    0010 [I] 00000017 C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
    0011 [I] 00000019 C:\WINDOWS\system32\FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl
    0012 [I] 00000020 C:\WINDOWS\system32\FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl
    0013 [W] 00001024 C:\WINDOWS\system32\FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl 183
    0014 [W] 00001035 SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins\@adobe.com/FlashPlayer/Path 2

Note the references to the extensions/Plugins 2. Those are the registry keys saying the installer where to put the DLL. Adobe should add a 'Firefox Software\Mozilla\Mozilla 5.0.1\extensions/Plugins 2' line to their installation script, or Mozilla must go back to the old registry key.
