  Thanks for letting me know that you have always problems with the status bar. The plateau is probably out of the track. You may be able to reverse the printer in order to get a better look, to see what is happening with the status bar.

  If the printer is under warranty, call to inquire about a replacement and if the printer is out of warranty, you can still have fix the printer.

  You cannot select a specific tray for the printer do not have multiple standard drawers.

  I see that you are having problems with the 2nd set, this can be confusing. You will need to go into the actual printer settings and change TRAY 2 as default. On the touch screen, select:

  1. click on the configuration Menu
  2. click on Preferences
  3. default tray
  4. Select tray 2

  After selecting this option, and then try to print and see how it goes. Don't forget with the 2nd plateau, its not installed with printer drivers, so you have to put all the letter paper in TRAY 2 (as you already have). Any other type of paper (legal, envelopes, etc.) will still go into Tray 1.

  Sorry to hear that you are missing that part. This really should be included and you should not have to buy the piece. I recommend to go back to your point of sale and they must replace it for you.

  Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that when I try to print from your iPad using Apple's AirPrint feature that you have found an error output of paper for the printer Photosmart 6520.

  I suspect that you are right and the AirPrint feature is that the document is printed as an image file, so it's like a photo manipulation. I have included document Basics AirPrint from Apple. For any additional consultation, I've also included HP How to use Apple AirPrint on a wireless network.

  If you want more that what is available with Apple's AirPrint printing options, you can use the application Mobile HP ePrint. I've included the HP ePrint Mobile App FAQ document.

  I'm sorry to hear that the diagnosis was not much help at all. There could be more than a hardware problem in the printer and I suggest to call the HP Technical Support at this stage. They may have a replacement or a trade in option for you.

  In my printer, when you remove the paper tray, it seems to be a black object/lever hanging down in the status bar. I have attached two images, where the object is marked with a red circle. I would like to know if it's supposed to be there or not.

  Currently, no problem with the A4 paper format, but the errors with the other formats.

  Yes - which is supposed to be there. It's the flag sensor that allows the printer to paper in the tray lift at the right height so that it can be picked up and powered by the rolls.

  The default settings on the devices apple AirPrint is printing photos from the photo tray. Hp Eprint app offeres a lot more in terms of print optins and will you choose the dimensions of the various media and allow you to specify a particular bin also.

  When I try and print the first sheet of paper starts to feed into the printer, then it stops and the printer starts to print, then I get an error message saying paper jam. The book pulls easily.

  It seems that the rollers do not work for the paper in.

  Updated - more research stumbled upon the suggestion to hold the printer upside down and shake hard. I did it-, then managed to force feeding a thick sheet of paper through and here came out of a paperclip (how did that get in there?!) and now it works again.
