Forgotten how to save websites on new tabs - help!

I have just updated my PC and forgot how I saved my favorite sites on new tabs (I don't mean the ability to "pin" a frequently used Web site). I had 3 rows of 4, or 4 rows of 5, fixed places, which appears each time I clicked on the + to a new tab. I could save it by left-clicking on a favorite site, then choosing the "add to hot sites" (or something similar) option. I want to get that back - if possible. Ran from the old PC Windows XP, a new is running Windows7, I don't know if that will make a difference.

I just found it! FoxTab called, ought to remember that!

When I click to open some sites (not all) a new tab is generated. The new tab is often to respond to a survey or simply an advertisement related to the site, I selected initially. Example - click on Wells Fargo and an additional tab opens that announces mortgage rates OR on a retail online store URL and the additional tab offers me to participate in an inquiry. This problem started when Windows 8.0 has been installed. The 8.1 update has not solved the problem. My Firefox is version 25. How can I stop these new tabs open in Firefox?

This could be caused by an add-on, by malware external or a pirated connection. Let's start with modules. Try this:

Disable all non-essential or unrecognized extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > Add ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, when in doubt, turn off.

Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

  • How can I reset the new tab page? (Browser hijacking)

My browser has been hijacked recently by Trovi search engine, and it changed the home page and the new tab page. I was able to restore the home page, but the new tab page was more complicated. I tried to go to about: config and replacing 'browser.newtab.url' 'about.newtab' (because I want the page with websites frequent return), but it just resets the site you'll find once I clicked OK. I tried editing that it again, this time with a URL, but it resets again. This continued even after restarting Firefox. Finally, I tried the add-on "SearchReset." He wiped my regular home page, but the new site of the tab is always you'll find... Whatever I do, it will not change. It keeps resetting to Trovi.

You must remove the malware that Trovi hijacker.
