Forgotten password - no disc reset

I have Windows XP Home Edition and I forgot my password of the administrator account.  I have no other admin account set up.  Will my password be reset if I do a system restore?  I hate to do anything that shuts down the computer because I'm afraid of not being able to get on it again.  Terribly afraid to try to start the system in safe mode as suggested someone... Help, please!

To do a system restore, you must be logged in as an administrator.  When you do so, it will restore password to the State they were when the backup is restored.  If you arrive to be currently logged in as an administrator and have forgotten the password, you can reset it as shown here:
