Formatting hard drive using Vista Home Premium

I am a 1.5 TB hard drive formatting and it seems to be suspended at around 73% is - this normal and how many hours must this process normally take. I had to cancel the formatting process, once for lack of time, but he had run for about 12 hours. There was a quick format option, but I decided not to take this option. Still, the process seems running and says in disk management that the hard drive is formatted. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Pendockman,

Most users use the quick format option. 1.5 TB of hard disk is a lot of space for formatting. It also depends on whether the player is connected or connected via USB internally. USB, of course, will be the slowest. A quick Google, I saw 1.5 hours for well over 12 hours. If fully shaped many users start the process in the night and then go to bed and hope that the process is complete the next morning.

If it is a new drive, then it would have been formatted by the manufacturer.

Unfortunately, you have only two options. 1 / a quick format or 2 / launch a full format and just leave until she finishes.

I use Vista Home Premium on a laptop Dell 1545 Inspiron and Dell 968AIO wireless printer. I can't print the attachments of email but I can print several pages on the internet. I updated drivers and tried everything that other people have told me to try on other forums to the best of my abilities. I'm not otherwise qualified in computer science. Also, I will mention this all started when I restored my computer laptop back to factory settings. I did it because that's all I could think about. As far as coming back on my laptop, he did do the trick. Thus, suggestions, thoughts will be appreciated.

I have a multimedia keyboard 1.1 microsoft wireless on my desktop using Vista Home premium, and the keys are all coming up badly, when I type 'k' for example I get 'a' or if I type 'p' I get 'v' and give me space '9' someone can tell me how to solve this problem?

    Hi Winchesterdream,

Welcome to the Microsoft answers community site.

I suggest you try the following steps

Step 1: Connect the keyboard to a different computer. If the keyboard works correctly on another computer, the port to which the keyboard was connected on the original computer may be damaged. If this is the case, contact your computer manufacturer to find out how to repair or replace the damaged port.

Step 2: Download and install the latest keyboard software

To download the latest drivers for the keyboard that you use, see the following Microsoft hardware Web site:

Step 3: Press the SHIFT key to turn five times keys Stick On or Off and check if the problem persists.

  • Re use Vista Home Premium Upgrade disc

    Hello

I bought and Vista Home Premium Upgrade disc and upgraded to Windows XP.  Unfortunately my PC has not enough graphics to run Aero and DVD Maker (915 chipset), and I had tried unsuccessfully to introduce a new videocard (power problem).  So I gave up with this PC and will probably go back to XP or get a copy of Vista Home Basic which will be OK on this PC.

I did the clean installation thing with the upgrade disk if my old XP system is not affected and can be restored without problem.

    My question is:

If I buy a latest PC who has the necessary graphics to run the Home Premium edition, can I re reuse the upgrade disc, or the activation process will fail because of "improved" after having already.

    Thanks for your help

    Evereti

    Hi Evereti,

You can try installing upgrade of Windows Vista on another PC as if you removed completely from Windows Vista to Windows XP PC. You will not be able to use the same copy on two different computers at the same time. It will affect the Product Activation.

  • Equium A210 - Question on two 2 hard drives using Vista

I'm looking for some portable refurbished Toshiba and see that some of them (including the title template) have 2 hard drive bays. An individual has a specified 80 GB drive and I am puzzled as to how, if the 80 GB is divided, it can run Vista.

I intend to use the built-in hard drive to run the programs and the OS and use an external drive to store all my data, that's why I go for a laptop with a hard drive relatively low and hopefully get a good quality for less money machine.

But I would like to know what size are these 2 drives and you would be grateful for information about the ins and outs of the 2 hard drives.

Thanks in advance if you can enlighten me :)

    clemenzina

    Hello

    > An individual has a specified 80 GB drive and I am puzzled as to how, if the 80 GB is divided, it can run Vista.
Your question confuses me, I wonder what's not clear for you
You are right. Some series are equipped with two bays for HARD drives, but this does not mean that you can use 2 hard disks because not all models with 2 bays for HARD drives supports 2 HARD disk controllers. So before use 2 HARD drive, you will need to check first if the second span would contain HARD drive connectors.

In addition, the installation of Vista OS always create 2 partitions on the HARD disk.
A small partition is hidden and it contains the necessary vista backup files that are needed to repair the Vista operating system (in critical situations).
The second partition contains the common files system.

This is the whole secret of Vista

This just started about 2 weeks ago and it starts as soon as I opened my browser and it does matter not what browser I use. We recommend that you use that you use a registry or a program of cleaning/TuneUP/utilities, because they can do more harm to your any good operating system that they claim to be able to do.

  • CORRUPT IMAGES USING VISTA HOME PREMIUM

Why is corruption of J ankles always a problem in windows 7? and the custom of whay Microsoft recognize that there is a problem?
I've read about it all over the internet and had it happen to me. If you want to reproduce the problem, use a pc using windows vista (and I don't think it matters which version you are using) an AMD processor and an invidia video card.

    Hi fitter562,

Please provide the following information, in order to better understand the issue:

    (a) what exactly happens when you view photos? How do you know that the pictures are corrupt?

    (b) what software or applications do you use to see all the photos?

Try to display the same image using Microsoft Paint and Microsoft Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, you encounter the same problem?

Note: Microsoft Paint and Microsoft Windows Picture and Fax Viewer do not color profiles to manage the parameters of color for the images.

When you view an image in the photo gallery Windows on a Windows Vista-based computer, the image and the background of the image are yellow.

This problem can occur because an incorrect color profile is used for the monitor in the color management device. When the Windows Photo Gallery uses the incorrect color profile to manage the parameters of color for the images, you experience the problem this question.

When you view an image in the photo gallery Windows on a Windows Vista-based computer, the image is yellow
