Formatting of Chinese characters

Thus, for some reason, there is no option under 'character' to set the language Chinese (or any other Asian language), and I guess that there will be problems with line breaks formatting and whatnot. Is there a way to fix this?

I just tested and it works even if they are grey. Just select it and you will see.

  • For some sites, all the contents of the page are completely replaced with strings not formatted of Chinese characters

I recently visited a Chinese social media Web site. Since then, many sites does appear as pages very, very long time Chinese characters. If I look at the page source, it's just a string of characters some very, very long time. It is not all sites, but it's a lot and apparently randomly. This problem only affects Firefox – the sites load properly in Chrome.

I tried to empty the cache, but has not made a difference. I deleted all cookies, but no luck. This seems to be different from all other 'random Chinese characters' problems, but I wonder if anyone has come across this before. Seriously, I don't know what is happening. As I said - only affects Firefox, although I visited the Chinese site with Firefox and Chrome.

Please read this article to see if it helps. The Chinese site might have changed somehow your character encoding settings and it didn't come back to your original one:

  • OCR training on Chinese characters

    Hi all

I want to recognize the Chinese characters via OCR toolkit

In regard to English characters and numbers, I could train chacters several at once, say "abc123".

When I, however, form several Chinese characters, it will come out of bad character number warning popup.

In additional, it may appoint one character to several Chinese characters.

This means that I have to form Chinese characters one by one, never all of the characters?

Chinese characters are not 'effective' for the toolkit characters LabVIEW OCR to process individual and may not treat them together to deal with.

Could someone give me some suggestions? Thank you very much.

I think that Chinese characters are represented in the operating system by several characters, probably a sequence of two characters.  Even if it is displayed as a single character, for LabVIEW, it seems that you type two characters.  It might be interesting to verify this by checking the length of the string in LabVIEW.

I think that the formation of character both would work well.  If you do a lot of training, you could write a quick utility that loop over each unknown character and ask the correct character, resulting in the formation of a single character at a time by a long sequence of characters.

  • How to make windows XP SP3 display Chinese characters correctly in the programs?

I am running Windows XP SP3 and I need Chinese language to view a program. (in Windows 2000 it displays very well) I installed East Asian language packs and the Chinese buttons now display gibberish. Y at - it installation work best for the language to Chinese? I went in the section advanced and made sure everything I checked options Chinese had it but still the same... I followed the links to "install files for East Asian without CD-ROM.
http://forums.techarena.in/Windows-XP-support/873146.htm"but that doesn't give me what I have on XP SP3 ORIGINAL CD. Y at - it a fix for this or is the police by default for windows is not compatible with the Chinese language?

Please help and if you could not mark as 'responded' unless you actually answer my question.

Just in case where U ignored my above features:
    Windows XP with SP3.
Already installed the files for East Asian CD and download.
At the default font on the desktop.

Ok... I thought about it, you must set your "format" in the regional settings in the option "Chinese (simplified, PRC) ' for the installed language pack to work for Chinese characters. My programs now display the correct characters. I imagine that by selecting the right 'Format' to use will help out with all the other languages also.

FYI: I had to do that very thing on a machine Windows 7 has not been posted by the correct characters. I fixed it the same way :-)

  • Chinese characters Datamerging

    Heyo everyone,.

So I try to merge some sheets of an excel file which is a combination of Chinese characters and English characters. Problem is then that InDesign has no problem pulling in English, the Chinese comes in either as a question mark or as a strange Roman character. I checked that I export in the correct format (I can open it up in other programs and it spits back characters), but... I can't find any option to make sure that it is important properly.

    Any suggestions?

Huh, weird. I tried with CS3, and it works... partially. I am now getting Chinese characters, but they're wrong those Hehe, now I'm wishing that I had done so that InDesign could do this before I made my spreadsheet.

Well, I would have assumed it was absence of Excel (I don't think that his output .csv can do Unicode, much less Big5 or GB2312 - is your Chinese simplified or traditional?) but it made me think otherwise:

With the same csv file that contains English and Chinese characters, it works with InDesign CS2 but not CS4 or CS5.

However, I just did a merger successful Trad Chinese data in CS4. I did the CSV by hand - I caught a Chinese text of a translation, made a Unicode CSV (when recording in Notepad, there is a drop-down list to choose the encoding), identified as a source of data in the ID, and ran a merger. It worked perfectly. It is interesting to note that there is a 'Import Options' button when you select a data source and allows you to select an encoding and a platform - both are important! I had only three options - ASCII, ShiftJIS (Japanese) and Unicode. So, get your CSV in Unicode encoding, use the Import Options button when you select a data source, and you should be good to go.

I don't know what happened to you, eboda, but I'm talking about you were encoding ShiftJIS. I'll try that on other platforms, but in general you should always tell InDesign what encoding you work with when you manage files in plain text.

I also tried to change my lock screen and the same characters are still there.

    Thank you

SSounds as a possible coding glitch, msg is read as instead of UTF8 UTF16 may be.  Probably caused by the carrier.

  • I have Chinese characters, appears at the top of my Firefox page.

Chinese characters have been present for a few months. I tried to use various programs of detection of viruses such as MalewareBites, but they do not seem to solve the problem. I see that it is the McAfee SiteAdvisor program that creates the problem.

  • Firefox cannot display Chinese characters correctly. How to fix?

I have portable firefox with the add-on Chinese language pack, but whenever I open any website in Chinese, the characters are not correct this so I couldn't recognize them.

Firefox cannot display CJK characters unless East Asian language support and CJC fonts are installed.

XP this is not the case by default because two support East Asian languages and languages (C.i.) complex script must be installed separately.

If you will not be able to see the Chinese characters, unless you install far East support.

Otherwise, you will need to use another computer.
