Forms and Java 7
Hi Forum. I know that there is no version of forms with Java 7 certified, Michael Ferrant last message in this thread is very clear: Forms 10 g and Java 7 (1.7) problems (unfortunately the thread is locked)On the other side, the Roadmap to support Oracle Java SE (updated 19 September 2012) says that the end of the Public updates of Java 6 is February 2013... but the Oracle now owns Java, is not really 'the other side '.
My point is that the gap is adjusted and closing... If we use forms, we cannot upgrade to Java 7. but in three months, maybe, we SHOULD go to Java 7, because it will be the only way to be implementation of security updates
Anyone know what is the official position of the Oracle in this case?
Thanks in advance
Alfonso
Like Francis mentioned, forms 11.1.1.6 is now supported with Java 7. We also hope that a next version of 11.1.2.x will also support Java 7. I hope that details will be published soon.
Regarding the support of Java 6, as long as you use an Oracle product that has a dependency on any particular java version and the product always has the right to support, the version of java to load will remain also supported in this case. In other words, because FMw (PFRD) 11.1.1 will be supported until 2014, we will continue to support the use of Java 6 if and only if it is used in conjunction with this specific version of FMw for as long that the liberation of FMw remains in support.
The dates for support of Java apply to end users do not use in conjunction with other Oracle products.
See these MyOracleSupport notes for more details: 952075.1 & 1470123.1
Because the date and the policies mentioned in this and other forums or articles are subject to change at any time, it is always a good idea to refer to the official product documentation or contact the Oracle Support if you have any questions or. They can provide you with the latest information.

I want to know what is the difference between Oracle Forms, JDeveloper, Java SE and EE
Oracle Forms is a tool of Rapid Application Development (RAD) used to create an Application that interacts with an Oracle database.
JDeveloper is an integrated development (IDE) environment to create applications based on Java.
Java is a programming language. The SE (Standard Edition) and EE (Enterprise Edition) are just different editions of Java (very basic definition).2. is it true that Oracle Forms can produce only a desktop application. To create the web application, we have JDeveloper?
The latest version of Oracle Forms No. only supports the web deployment. Old version (6.0 and lower) were traditional Client/Server.
3 Java SE can only make application office. EE only can make web applications?
Wrong again. To see the difference between the two, visit www.java.com.
4. to make custom forms and paste it to the E-Business Suite R12, what tool do we use? Oracle Forms, JDeveloper, or Java SE or EE?
Above all, Oracle Forms, but you can also develop extensions customized by using JDeveloper and the EBS Self Service Framwork. As indicated above, Java SE and EE are not tools, but a language.
Can someone help me with this? I intend to make a custom process externally because there are some processes that cannot be addressed by E-Business Suite R12. I want to know what tool to develop this custom application and whether to integrate the custom for existing E-Business Suite application. Thank you
Before starting to build custom to the Enterprise Oracle Business Suite (EBS) extensions I highly suggest that find you a job working firstly with EBS so you can learn the framework of EBS and how the various parts work together. Also, I recommend that consult the library of Documentation of Oracle Applications . Oracle is very clear on how to add customizations to the EBS.

Forgive me if the answer is obvious to you guys, but the person who deals with the questions of forms is normally away so I was entangled with discover the details and I passed the age through the documents and the material online, but it doesn't seem to be a concise answer.
We have forms 10.1.2.0.2, and the automatic update to Java 7 has been applied by the Windows team is obviously incompatible with the version of forms, we have, so I try to find;
(1) what version of forms is compatible with Java 7?
(2) If none came out still have Oracle gave a release date for one?
(3) our version of forms is still supported?
(4) if so when the support end?
Thanks for any help or pointers you can give.Hello
A small correction to what Francis said:
The latest version of forms 11 GR 1 material (11.1.1.6) is certified with java 1.7.Regarding your last 2 questions:
(3) our version of forms is still supported?
N °
(4) if so when the support end?
Check metalink Note:
Oracle Forms/Reports (Doc ID 1050790.1) Certification referencesRight now, the only versions supported are:
11 GR 1 material (11.1.1.4 and 11.1.1.6 versions)
11 GR 2Kind regards

I have installed 11.1.2.1 forms and you want to use the latest Java 7 plugin for IE and Firefox. Can someone tell me what formsweb.cfg parameters should be for Java 7 update 45?
Before using Java 7 with 11.1.2.1.0 forms, I'll make sure that you use Oracle WebLogic Server (WLS) 10.3.6 because this is the only version supported with Java 7 WLS. For more information, refer to the Oracle Certification Matrix for forms 11.1.2.1.0 to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/oracle-forms-111210certmatrix-1886127.xls.
If you use WLS 10.3.6, these are the parameters for formsweb.cfg use for Java 7 update 45:
jpi_download_page =http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/7u45/index.html
jpi_classid = clsid:CAFEEFAC-0017-0000-0045-ABCDEFFEDCBA
jpi_codebase =http://java.sun.com/update/1.7.0/jinstall-7-windows-i586.cab#Version=1, 7,0,45
jpi_mimetype = application/x-Java-applet; YPI-version = 1.7.0_45
The settings above will require the end-user to install Java 7 update 45.
If you only want so that end users to use Java 7 update 45 for a single application, put these settings in your configuration in formsweb.cfg section. If you have any applications use Java 7 update 45, place them in the [default] section of formsweb.cfg. If you place them in the [default] section, do not forget to comment parameters four already present YPI pointing to Java 6 Update 12.
The following article is also helpful with information regarding the use of Java 7 update 45 with forms 11.1.2.1.0: http://pitss.com/us/2013/02/20/how-to-use-java-7-with-oracle-forms-11g-in-an-oracle-supported-environment/

Monitor virtual machine JAVA on Oracle ACE form and reports
Dear experts,
I'm in the form of Oracle on AIX 6.1 10.1.2.3 and report on AIX 5.3.
Can I monitor the JVM use on these two platform for forms and report service as it is sufficient for the opmn.xml file distribution n (Xmx 512 M.)?These jvm settings work for java, due components the webcache is not a java component, we cannot use these parameters to check the
use of memory. However, if another applications deployed in OC4J container, you can set the parameters for this container.

Hi all
EBS R12.2.4
11 GR 2
OL6.5
I've been using a lot of laptops and desktops with Win7 64 bit OS and with Firefox40 & later and IE11, and I have no problem in launching java forms EBS.
But now I have a new laptop of the show, I installed Win7 64 bit and also IE11 and Firefox44, but he could not launch java forms EBS.
I've used my setting up browser skills in troubleshooting, to no avail.
My browsers Firefox just jammed up on this page and no form of java that appears when I click on administrator > Security > user > define:
While my IE11 is also stuck on this page, if I click Security > user > set no java page is displayed.
Help, please
Kind regards
JC
If the proxy of your java plugin settings are not the same as your browser, then it might be bad. Try using these settings in your browser, and if you can not connect to anything, then most likely the java plugin proxy is bad. Usually what makes the same browser resolves most of the connectivity issues. Often, when forms applet does not load, it's because the plugin is trying to check if this is the latest version and failing to connect to internet to check or unable to download the latest version because of the power of Attorney is misconfigured.

Oracle Forms and reports 12 c (12.2.1.0) Installation
Hello
I had downloaded a file of
Oracle Forms and reports 12 c (12.2.1.0)
Published on 23 October 2015
http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/forms/downloads/index.html .
Now, I am trying to install, but its not install on the computer. can guide you how to install it.
Sandy
Two things:
1. you didn't did not read carefully my last update. I said that you need to install JDK 8 (more precisely 8U51 or newer). Which suggests that you installed and that he tried to use Java 7 with that statement that you answered:
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_79\bin>java-jar fmw_12.2.1.0.0_infrastructure.jar
You must UNINSTALL 7U79 (which you cited above) and install the last v8, which is 8U66.
http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/Java/javase/downloads/index-JSP-138363.html
2. you have not share of details necessary to understand what could happen. For example:
- On what platform and the version you install?
- Have you reviewed the matrix of product Certification to ensure that this platform is certified for use?
- Is your Windows user, a member of the Windows Administrators group?
- The machine has at least 6 GB of RAM?
- Is the installer staged locally or are access you it from a network share?
- Did you review the Setup logs? If this is not the case, do, as they will probably tell you what is happening. They are located in:
C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs
I highly recommend that go you through the documentation (Setup Guide, Sys requirements, etc.) before you install or use the product:

I am able to create a normal adminserver domain without any problem. I can't simply create a field for the development of forms and reports.
What Miss me? Thank you!
I have it. It wasn't for lack of loopback adapter or the path. I need to install the full version of wls, not the quick developer version.

Setup error 12.2.1.0.0 forms and reports in windows 7 64 bit
I try to install 12.2.1 forms and reports, but get the following error message when you select an Oracle Home.
INST-07548: distribution selected only has not any type of compatible installation for the selected Oracle home.
- INST-07548: distribution selected only has not any type of compatible installation for the selected Oracle home.
- INST-07551: not all sets of dependent features to install type "Deployment of forms and reports" could be found. The following prerequisites proved to be missing: em_fmc - 12.2.1.0.0
I installed 12.2.1 WLS production and the development of versions on a windows 7 64 bit machine and get the same error message against each Oracle home.
Java 1.8.60 is the version of java installed.
Ideas?
It seems that you have downloaded and installed the maldistribution of WLS. You must use the 'Infrastructure' distribution, which can be downloaded here:

Forms let java.exe suspended at the time of the closure of forms
I am slot that Forms 11 g, IE9, Java 7 update 21
I have problems with java.exe process remains suspended after that closing form. If I have a an IE browser window open with two tabs, and then open two forms sessions, which creates two process java.exe. I then close the two sessions of forms, and it leaves a java.exe suspended. If I then close the two windows in IE browser, it removes the process java.exe. I can reproduce this constantly. It does not correctly as long as I don't have any other browser Windows Internet Explorer open to the time I open forms.
I opened a SR with Oracle Forms, but since it works fine if I don't have IE open before opening the forms, they won't help indicating that it is a question of Java. Tried to open an SR with Java, but they will not help because we do not pay support for Java.
http://forums.Oracle.com/Forums/Forum.jspa?forumid=82
It is a problem of browser/java plugin and has nothing to do with Oracle Forms. If you open an applet in a browser, as long as the browser remains open the plugin will remain charged and the java.exe process will remain in Manager tasks. Because the tabs in the browser are in the same browser session, it won't matter whether or not you close the tab. The parent browser session is responsible for the java process. Here are two of the many discussions on this subject which began in IE8 and continue today.

I'm not a java programmer, in fact, my knowledge of java is a java course intro, I took about 8 years ago.
On my application for cf on the other hand, there is a tiny section where the previous programmer created a feature using the java programming.
When user download a file from our CF interface, the form action can point to a location of java servlet, a server of tomkat (?), who treats the file downloading and checking this file in java programming on this server.
We are trying to get rid of this server of tomkat and instead of re-writing the functionality of exact same in CF, I think to integrate these java codes and classes. I understand that CF is based on java, so this idea should be possible.
The question is whether this task will be hard for me who has no experience knowing only very tiny who died mostly of java programming.
Should I forget about this integration plan and all re - write the functionality in CF instead? or
How easy it is to integrate CF and java to avoid the re-writing of the code, are there examples or instructions somewhere that is more to the point, or step by step?

Not difficult at all. In the majority of cases, it is would we to apply the Java functionality in Coldfusion.

N ° it might be that it is better to do with some Java.

Pretty easy. Most of the time. Java is not a big deal in Coldfusion today. Using createobject(), for example, will give you direct access to a Java class. I hope that this forum could help you solve any problems you may encounter.
