FrameMaker 9 Distiller 9 plus failure PDF

Hello! I'll have a chance to solve this on my own, so I hope that people here can lend a hand.

I had FM 9 for a while (upgrade to 7.1). I was building docs fortunately and generating PDF files and have no major problems.

Then I have CS4. I installed everything, including the latest Acrobat and Distiller.

Now when I generate a PDF somehow (print in Adobe PDF format, save them as PDF, generate a Postscript file and THAT transform into PDF format), there are major problems. These problems include:

-missing table cells text

-lack of entries in table of contents (empty lines instead of topics)

-table header lines repeated when a table takes several pages, but the header cells no text inside

All the missing stuff is present in image files, but it disappears when switching to the PDF format. The same things are still missing, but it seems that periodically, there will be new things, missing, and they continue to miss in the future attempts to generate the PDF file.

It is a SERIOUS problem because I am producing a document for my job and I'm facing a deadline of an outside vendor. I really don't want to have to redo this doc in Word or something. Please advise!

Info on my setup:

OS: Windows XP, all service packs and updates

FM: 9.0p237 (just got it download the last update, still having the same issue)

Distiller: 9.2.0124

Thanks in advance!

  • FrameMaker 2015 Embedded XLS problem when PDF

Hi, I have a problem with frame 2015 with embedded XLS tables and output PDF.

I work with a new client who was using v11 with simple structured and incorporated documents XLS tables.  We have now purchased both Framemaker 2015 so that I can work on their documents.

The problem I have is when I open the V11 docs in 2015 TI loses the link to the source XLS.  Billboards OK but when attaching to open the data source I get:

"Cannot locate the source of the link" even if the path appears correct.  At this point if I save to PDF output is OK.

So I can re - insert the tables by using 'Edit - Paste Special - integrate Microsoft Office Excel 2003 worksheet' and it appears correctly on the screen.  However when I then save them in PDF format (as desired by the customer) the picture becomes a big black box.  If I print normally the output is OK its only saving in PDF format.

I also tried to print to Adobe PDF with the same result, tables appear as black boxes.  Any ideas on a solution would be very appreciated!

OLE has a history of being a bit dodgy with FM. Have you tried to import, reference, the Excel worksheet? FM hasExcel import filters and "by reference" made sure if the content is updated, then FM uses the most recent.

In addition, when you create the PDF file, you use the option CMYK or RGB?

  • OBA InDesign CC includes a version of Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Distiller (print/export to PDF files)?

I wonder, if an Abo of InDesign CC (only Abo of InDesign CC, not all CC - Abo) includes a version of Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Distiller - anyones knows?

    What is an ABO?

InDesign includes a comprehensive library of PDF to PDF export.

  • Acrobat Distiller error: does not PDF / a compliance tests.

I got the error above when generating a pdf of a Framemaker book. I optimized the files on an old book and generated a PDF a couple of times before the same day. Can someone tell me what to do to fix this error? I use FrameMaker 11 and 11 distill.

In what consists the complete log (copy and paste) say?

Do you really specifically of the PDF/A?

  • FrameMaker favorites are lost in the PDF

    I use FrameMaker 9.0p237

When I create a PDF file from a FrameMaker book, bookmarks are misplaced in the PDF file. For example, in my image file, I have:

    Title of the chapter

    . Heading 1a

    .. Section 2A

    Title of chapter B

    . Heading 1 b

    .. Section 2B

But when I create the PDF file, some of the Favorites of the chapters appear as:

    Chat title A

    Title of chapter B

    . Heading 1a

    .. Title2 one

    . Heading 1 b

    .. Section 2B

This happens for each chapter, but it always happens for the same chapters each time I have create a pdf file.

What is the problem with my FrameMaker file it would cause?

Brian, are one of the positions and subheadings of cells in a table or text blocks or even a different text stream?

All these can cause bad ordered bookmarks because FM creates bookmarks by looking at the content stream has, first then turning and entering content in other streams and in the tables.

  • Problems printing with HP Photosmart Plus 209 PDF documents has

Sometimes, when I try to print PDF documents, one or two sheets will print then the printer will just stop.  It turns on and the message window says something like "to avoid damage, use the button 'on' close ' my husband has this same printer and the same thing happens.  I am running Windows 7, Vista, he is a candidate.  Is there a solution?

Note that this does not occur with each PDF, some.  I was not able to find a common denominator between those who print correctly without any problem and those who are not.

  • Failure PDF in the 98, page 14 page document seems to be the problem

    ProbleemPag14.jpg

Please take a look at the screenshot above. It seems that there is something wrong with a page, that makes PDF export fail. I narrowed down it to page 14. The rest of the pages, export to PDF. When I try to remove the object from this page, Indesign crashes. I also created 2 new pages and pasted all of the objects in these new pages, then deleted the 'old', and there it was again, this empty space on the left. There is no object on the left side of this page, though you might think there are, looking at the print screen.

Does anyone have a solution? I'm really out of options...

Are you able to open and work with it? John's suggestion seems to be a good tactic. I would also select this page, open the layers panel and expand all the layers to see if you spot something that does not belong. I have the feeling, there is, indeed, something in space there that should be deleted.

  • OCSP verification failure PDF document

    Hello!

Can you please help me with signing of PDF using OCSP revocation.

Reading Acrobat quick check revocation key noted, as fist of Acrobat Reader to check all the integral part of the revocation data

    1 OCSP

    2 CRL.

If they are incorporated in the revocation data is not present local cache of the acrobat check. If the local cache is empty Acrobat tries to get revocation online data

    1 OCSP

    2 CRL.

My problem is that Acrobat Reader 9.2.3 ignore OCSP responses online and view the data of revocation of CRL to revacation for the signatory certificate tab.

    There are my test steps:

    1.      Sign the PDF with iText

    2.      Cache directory of claire Adobe 9.3.2 under C:\Documents and Settings\ < user > \Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\9.0\Security\CRLCache

    3.      Open the PDF with Adobe Reader 9.3.2 (configured for verification of the SRDP)

    4.      After verification of CRL signer tab is not OCSP CRL revocation data

Document PDF signed, which you can download here http://www.dsistemas.lv/files/Ocsp_CHECK.PDF . Can you please try check this document and tell me why its ignore revocation. OCSP data

    Hi Gatis,

You are right, that the new signing certificate does not have the extension of the model of certificate. Acrobat tries to do an OCSP check and sends the request, the problem now is that the answer is incorrect, causing a BER decoding error.

  • I imported an EPS layered file in FrameMaker, but ONLY the EPS image appears in the PDF file. How to do everything to appear?

I imported a file .eps (a barcode) in FrameMaker and found that the omitted PDF everyting but the .eps image.  How can I get FrameMaker to recognize the text and images in the file FM, as well as the image of layered .eps file in the output PDF file? To test this, I also converted the .eps file (in PhotoShop) for a TIFF, JPG and GIF, PSD and imported of each in the doc of FrameMaker and created a PDF file.

When I imported the FM and PDFd .psd file, all of the text and images of the file FM appeared, but the bar code has low resolution.

When I imported the TIFF records in FM and PDFd, nothing appears in the PDF file except the barcode image and the text block, to which it is linked. The bar code has low resolution.

With a JPG image, everything appears in the PDF but the barcode has low resolution.

With a GIF image, it appears in the PDF, but t barcode a low-resolution.

First thing you should try is to create a PDF file of the EPS file using Acrobat only. If it does not come out as expected (in the PDF file), then you know exactly where the problem is. Create a PDF file of the EPS in Photoshop is not a good test.

You also need to update your version of FM12 - you have a patch behind.

  • Is it possible to reuse the mapping file which was produced to match the FrameMaker styles to RoboHelp when you create a PDF file in RoboHelp?

I use RoboHelp 11 to produce WebHelp. The documentation has been previously written in FrameMaker and published in PDF format, but he suffered many outings since then. I am now prompted to create the help PDF and WebHelp. Not really a problem except that the help format doesn't look particularly good in PDF format (not designed for two).

Ideally, I would just use the mapping file to the original frame to the RoboHelp conversion in sense (with some editing) reverse - to convert RoboHelp styles in original FrameMaker formats when I create the PDF, however, A) there doesn't seem to be an option for that and B) originally FrameMaker in RoboHelp map file does not seem have been kept after this conversion.  He's here and I'm just not see it?

If necessary I can just create a different CSS to redefine the styles, but if I don't, I rather not.

I think that even if you can't find mapping information (pass to know where) it would just tell you A Style on the Fm band has been mapped to the B Style in HR but gives you no information on how Style has been set on the Fm band.

I think your only options are to create a CSS that suggest you or, as I would create, redefine the model of mapping of the Word Style on. By going to the first word, you can change the output for page breaks better and other tweaking you may want.

  • Cannot open PDF files in Distiller 8

Last week I was able to open a PDF with Distiller 8.  Now, when I try to open a PDF file, this is the warning he gives: warning: Distiller is not treated. Newspaper. PDF or. The JDF file extensions

I do not understand why I was able to open the file one day and not the other.  I was able to select a PDF file and select 'Open with' and Distiller 8 was in the list and the file would open as it would if I had opened in Reader or Acrobat.  I need to open the file in Distiller to make the necessary changes.  You cannot make the same changes to the files in Reader or Acrobat, as you can the Distiller.  Please help me if you can!

Same answer three years ago, but I will state as simply as possible.

Acrobat Distiller does not open PDF files in some way, shape, or form. The only purpose of Acrobat Distiller is to convert PostScript to PDF files, nothing more and nothing less.

If you need to change aspects of a PDF file, including properties, image compression, file size, etc., you open a PDF in Acrobat Pro and use the native PDF that are appropriate.

  • Difference in size of the PDF file generated between distiller 6.0 and 10.0

    Hello

We are currently using Distiller server 6.0.1 on Windows server 2003 to convert PS to PDF, we want to improve our operating system to Windows server 2008 R2 but Distiller server is not supported on this point.

so we evaluate Acrobat distiller 10 which comes with Acrobat x pro, but we have noticed a slight difference in the size of the generated PDF, for even the server PS distiller 6.0 generated PDF

file size of 55KO so that Acrobat distiller generated 10 PDF file is 53 KB. The output looks like even, but I was wondering is it safe to continue further with the difference in file size, it would be good

If you could provide any idea why the file sizes are different between these two versions.

    Thank you

    Anand

    Note:

You may not use Adobe Acrobat on a server.

  • Cannot save to PDF 7.2 after upgrade to 9.0

    Hello once again, editors.

7.2, we used systematically save to PDF without problem. Now that we also have FM 9 on our systems, however, it appears that the latest Distiller has replaced the old (one that has worked well with 7.2) because now trying to save to PDF (in FM 7.2), we often have problems. It all seems very random, and we are at a loss on the understand.what that happens, why, or how to fix.

The symptom is a FrameMaker error saying "failed to start Acrobat Distiller to create a PDF file."

    • A double click of acro.exe does not distill - nothing happens. (Cannot open acrodist.exe or acrotray.exe under any circumstances.)
    • Printing .ps and double-clicking the .ps file sometimes works, sometimes not.
    • Delete the files .tps and other backups sometimes works, sometimes not.
    • Save to PDF the retry several times sometimes works, sometimes not.

We have three tech writers have similar configurations: we use XP, have all the latest patches of FM, plenty of RAM, etc..

I hope that the answer is not "get rid of 7.2 and use only 9.0" - our deadlines are such that it is difficult to work only in the new version. The user interface is different and some features are different, so the learning curve will be at least a little time.

Is it so simple that took to re - install the 7.2 version of Distiller? Even though we specifically asked that they leave FrameMaker 7.2 when installing 9.0, we didn't talk to distill, which was apparently crushed.

If anyone has any experience with this issue, your opinion is welcome.

    TIA,

    Gay Alston

If you have problems to save it as a PDF, you can always go to the reliable, print to Adobe PDF. This works.

I don't know what goes wrong, but there is a simpler way to convert Excel to PDF. See here for more information, more a Vbscript example:

  • I can't resize the pdf file using acrobat CC, any help please?

Hi guys, I am trying to download a pdf file in an application for visa online, but it consists in asking me to use distiller adobe instead of pdf online sites from resizing. I have Acrobat DC, but it doesn't do anything when I click in the resizing option in Save as.

OK, you can try to reduce the size of the file to save as options of Acrobat (file size reduced to simple, optimized PDF for more control).

Of course. It cannot succeed sometimes, for example if there are photos that have too much detail, for example.

What happens when you try? And what kind of discount Miss do you?
