Free transform creates a thin white line

With the help of 2015.0.1.  When I turn a picture to extend the other edge of the selection moves slightly creating a line white or clear.  This selection border has not moved in the previous version of photoshop (just not checked no line).  Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you

    any ideas?

Well Yes, there is an easy solution. First of all, check and make sure that your document units are pixels, not picas/points. Then check and make sure that the frame has no part for X, Y, width, or height of a value in pixels. If he changes a complete pixel value and the problem will go away.

If you publish a v24 or folio of later that this problem should not happen at all, we have a fix to automatically adjust partial pixels.

  • Photomerge produces white lines when using RAW (PEF) but not TIFF

I just started using PS CC (Mac, v14.1.2) and tried Photomerge with a set of 40 (4 lines, 10 passes) raw (Pentax PEF format) images, with the result picture 0.3 gigapixels.

When I sewed them by Photomerge, I see thin white lines in the melting points.

I had activated all 3 options (mix together tile images, deletion, geometric distortion correction), using cylindrical available.

When I have everything first to convert the PEF at TIFF and use Photomerge with the same options, there is no white lines.

An example of the wrong exit:

    Screen Shot 2013-11-30 at 17.49.29.PNG

These unwanted lines are, of course, on the edges where the images are meet.

    In addition, when you use only a few images (2 x 2 or 3 x 3 or even 4 x 5), I don't get this effect.

I noticed that when you use fewer images, edges of the layer masks are not straight - but they are when I see this problem. This suggests that, at some point, the merge operation gets overwhelmed and going on to a simple algorithm, which in turn has this 'bug' with RAW images, apparently.

Is this a known problem, and is there a way to get this working right with that, many images RAW/PEF?

    Trevor,

The options that I have used with PhotoMerge are mentioned in my first post.

'Automatic merging of layers' with the option 'Seemless '.... "necessary checked much more disk space (scratch) than the PhotoMerge operation (PhotoMerge became as well as about 35 GB, while the automatic layer merging was not yet satisfied with 60 GB of free disk space).

And your proposal was right! With the operation of auto-merge layers, lines appear no more!

This result, as well as the greatest need of memory, gives to think that the operation of PhotoMerge does not use the option "smooth", but it should offer this option, or even automatically use when there RAW files as input.

In any case, thanks for solving this.

  • Unexplained white lines in formats EPS and HAVE

Thanks for taking a peek. I'm at my limit with this one.

I have a book in InDesign CS4 with overall imported EPS pictures. The EPS files created with Illustrator CS1/CS4 (we have updated recently - ago, big jump!). When you test the exported PDF book we noticed that several images have what seems to be random white lines framing the areas of the work. I searched through the knowledge base on the seam, sought in Illustrator/InDesign forums on 'white lines' and various other key words, but so far I have not found a honest solution. I tested these corrections starting with settings display "Line Art/Smooth Image" PDF, InDesign "Aplatissements predefined transparencies Transarency" smooth, all the way back to the work of the Illustrator files.

I must emphasize that these lines are only visible on the screen after a series of expansions in Acrobat or InDesign. The lines are not visible on the screen in the EPS formats / HAVE, however, when you print directly from Illustrator, they find themselves on the hard copy. There is at least a starting point?

In one of the most obvious examples, we noticed framing around objects with drop shadow effects. The background of this image is a gradient. The foreground object has a shadow effect. We tested the removal of the shadow effect and the lines disappear. We then reapplied the shadow but removed the gradient of the background. Again, the lines are left. All this is fine I guess, if we need to go through each drawing and eliminate any shadow scope and/or degraded (rather annoying though and disappointing that some effects may be inevitable to represent a series of illustrations). But honestly, is it normal that these two effects of situations of conflict in this way? The biggest problem is that there are designs with these ghosts lines that have no background gradient shadow or drop. I have no idea where to solve this!

From what I read and what I've seen with tests, there is a problem of transparency, supported by our experiences with shadows - possibly in the original format of EPS designs are created in. ' save under... ". ». I does not solve it. Backup to a flattened. TIFF or even. JPG is really not an option.

With the help of shadows with gradients is a no-no? Maybe something in the transition from CS1 to CS4? I'm a clueless fool who just needs to stick with Photoshop? Laughing out loud. I do not know!! Someone please enlighten us on this one. I try to understand these things on my own, but Illustrator is my weaker demand. In any case, all tips are very much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

I use Illustrator CS3 and had the same problem.  I finally got the white lines if go by saving my file .ai, flattening of the work (go to the layers palette, the pitcher, then "Flatten the work"), print to a .pdf file (or I guess you could save as), and then close the .ai file without saving (because I didn't want the flattened .ai file).

    It worked!  Woohoo!

It is a good idea and makes me think that my reference to flattening is misleading. Flattening in the layers panel work can definitely have an effect on transparency, but this isn't a flattening of transparency in the strict sense of the term. Julie mentions printing in PDF format, or save as PDF. These are two totally different things. In the case of printing to PDF, the output is post script, which does not support transparency. The PostScript is converted to PDF. So it could be transparency in the document of the monolayer, but transparency has been flattened at the printing stage.

This method can be effective, but only if the PDF output does not need to be placed in another application. In any case, Julie was correct does not back up after flattening the layers.

I spent hours trying to solve this problem.  I did as stated in this thread, and passed under the eps to AI file, but would really like to know why this is happening with this particular eps file.

Maybe we can find a solution to this problem.

Kristeejo you should display your illustrations drawn mode and see if you have pictures divided into sections. If Yes, then this is perhaps the result of some with object: flatten transparency. It's very embarrassing when someone does this. Sometimes, you can select the pieces of the image (see the links Panel, they are all integrated links), then use object: pixelation. Do not do this to vector elements. After rasterization is completed, the pieces become an entire image, and I hope that the seam lines will disappear.

The other possibility - and the solution because it is much easier - is that someone has placed a Photoshop EPS, and it is interacting with transparency. You can re - register the Photoshop EPS as a native file to Photoshop and re - link. I've seen it eliminate the thin white lines in output.

  • White lines *. SVG-images

When I'm placing a *. SVG-image of Muse, I get a thick white line in the background and a thin white line to the right in the picture. These lines kan not deleted in Muse. Do I did wrong?

For now the only solution is to this choice:

    1. register for the Adobe beta program, sign a NDA and then see if the beta version of Muse corrects problems of SVG.

    2. wait for the next version of official point of Muse.

Muse 2014.2 was released early October. I wonder when "2014.3" will be released. Previously a lot of one-off releases came every 2 or maybe 3 months. We are now four months and counting between one-off releases. It's kind of a long waiting period to get a pretty obvious bug been fixed, for example the problem as outlined white in SVG images. I thought that the Adobe engineers have solved that one pretty quickly.

    Divert:

I can only imagine what is happening behind the scenes at Adobe. They may be doing some fairly big changes, fundamental to Muse to make the application much better. I hope that Adobe engineers are not be distracted by quarter Chair nonsense coming from stock investors. Creative Cloud subscription numbers are up, but Adobe margins have been declining, in part because of a lot of research & development (good for us users). So many stock buyers tell Adobe what they need to do, and some suggest they put much more of their resources in support of sales and marketing tools. Adobe has announced a program to buy back $2 billion in January (after previous finishing). Investors are very excited. They complain on the blow to income during the transition from the software perpetual license in a single subscription model box. Do not include creative professional investors will literally be forced on cloud creative as they get rid of older and slower computers. They don't seem as common Adobe growth in some other niches, like the video. Premiere Pro has been surging in popularity at the expense of Final Cut and Avid. It reminds me how InDesign rises to dominate Quark Xpress.

I don't like having to pay a subscription for Adobe applications, but for my work, I'm stuck with it. Adobe is not enough credible competition to change this. And competitors of Adobe are trying to jump on the subscription model too.

  • White lines fixed with optimization of the art - is - it possible to copy with this setting?

I have seen discussions on the white lines, you get on the edges of the objects due to anti-aliasing in Illustrator, and I found that when exporting, you can remove them by setting 'optimized art' in one of the options there.

For those who do not know the issue of the white line:

Sometimes, when the Illustrator blend the pixels around an object, it puts a thin white line around it that always appears 1 thick px any zoom level.

Not really there and when it printed disappears. Trouble is, even when you export the document, or a copy of objects in other software for the use of the screen, it's still there.

Many people think that white line is a tiny space, but it is not.

People also tend to tell you that it is because you have two objects butted against another. Also, this is not true. The white line persists even on overlapping forms.

People will also say it is when two shapes on top of the other follow the same path. Yet once, is not true. White lines appear even when you have only 1 object following a particular path.

My problem is that I rarely export an entire document at once, but tend to copy items to it in Photoshop. When I do, the white lines traveling with her and becomes permanent. Even on a .jpg, .png, or .gif image file, the lines are still visible.

What I want to know is, is it possible to copy objects in Illustrator using optimization of art?

Or y at - it another way to copy them without taking these white lines with me?

I know that I can get rid of them by turning anti-aliasing off the coast, but everything really looks pixelated, so it is not much better.

In addition, anti-aliasing is not actually solve the problem, it just hides it. Even with the power off, when I copy the affected objects to Photoshop, the white lines reappear in Photoshop.

And please don't bother the answer for me, explaining what the white lines are, or how to get rid of them or how to lose them in the export. I know all that.

    Notes:

    I'm under Illustrator CS6

    And Photoshop CS6

    Helmer,

I wonder if this may be useful, or is simply ridiculous. I apologize if this last.

If you can use a Raster object to copy into Photoshop, you try to use the object > rasterize and set Anti-Aliasing for Art Optimized, can see.

  • How to create a vector from an image with a white line

I need help as soon as possible.

I have a design that I made in Photoshop CC 2014 and I need to make a vector. I was told the best way to proceed was to file in Illustrator CC 2014, which is what I have, but every guide I followed takes off the white line that goes around the text and extends beyond the tree. I need this white one to be there and it's so frustrating that I can't find a guide that will help me keep it there!

Please, if anyone has the solution, please describe in DETAIL. , I have included the image, I work for example. I put a background black on it so you can see the white line which must remain outside the vehicle. The black background will not be outside the final vector.SYH_3kx3k.jpg

    Matt,

According to me, you can do the following:

Come back to Photoshop and create black background like a rectangle, then the raster work is separated into two:

The one with the red/white text on black background and the other with the tree on black background.

Image then trace each and expand each track and then line them up by the outermost paths (tracing the outside shape of the black rectangles that must be identical).

Then take it from there, with full marks.

  • How to get rid of lines of free transform

I reworked an object by using the free transform tool. But now I have unwanted pencil - like lines around the part of the subject, I can't get rid of them. Anyway, I tried out on a background layer lines, then a layer via copy and clone tool doesn, t cloning work. I have reset tools. When I taste with alt-click (Mac) and then go make the clone, the miniature passes of the photo thumbnail to where I can see a transparent layer or checkerboard below as I'm not supposed to be able to do this function. So, I can't get rid of these free transform the lines and I have a problem of clone stamp.

Save your PSD if you want to keep the layers for future editing. Then click on the menu on the top layer > Flatten Image

You should now be able to clone.

  • I created a black and white line drawing and then filled with black and white patterns. How do I trace the image so I can color in every room in the background and an image?

I traced a line drawing, then live painted models who are also black and white line drawings.

I can't paint directly because parts of the background are not drawn parts.

Not sure if this makes sense?

I did a black and white coloring made in illustrator that I need to trace and color.

The model split into vectors when you go to object > break down.

  • Layers with black and white line drawings.

I am trying to create a black and white line drawing illustration. I did my drawings on paper and scanned them. Can I PLACE each part of the drawing in its own layer to photoshop. How can I better get the top layer to have a transparent background, so that it is 'visible' to the other layer?

(For example, I have a little girl brushing his teeth.) I also drew the washbasin and the mirror and wardrobe that will see behind the girl. When I put them in two of these pictures I've drawn and scanned, the white background of the girl covers the background picture of the sink and the Cabinet. I tried to use the magnetic tool to trace around the girl and then I copy and paste on another layer and get rid of the original opaque. My lines out as clean and clear as I'd like. Is there a better way?)

Another question: on one of my layers, I want to adjust the size, cut it down and possibly do a spin. How this transformation of size on a single layer and not the entire file?

    Hi redpenpenny,

C.pfaffenbichler said, "multiply" blending mode is your friend here.

To illustrate this, take a look at this composite that I made using my Wacom tablet:

    1. I drew two coats, one with a face and a with a bubble, they are located on separate layers and both have a white background (like your digital images)

    Fig 1:

    Fig 2:

    2. then, I selected the top layer (which is being the bubble) and changed the blend mode 'multiply '.

    Fig. 3:

    3. the white background fades and the two designs are now visible.

    Fig. 4:

    4. just for fun, I placed a texture of paper, I found online on the bottom layer and put my face "Multiply" layer that actually seems as if it was drawn on paper.

  • Printer AIO 922, Solution of white lines

I have a printer Dell AIO 922 a 3 or 4 years. It has been a very solid performer like a use inkjet housekeeping and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Dell printer based on this one.

Recently, it started showing the white lines, or more precisely, the horizontal white gaps. As the snapshot on the right. I searched everywhere but not found a solution. Available notice usually includes nozzles cleaning or using the alignment. A proposed post to wipe coding transparent plastic strip. These things did not help. Being an engineer and a professional problem solver, I decided to understand it. I hope that it is beneficial for someone else, as I often took advantage of other messages.

First note is that it is a paper feeding issue, nozzles ink jet not blocked because there is no ink "missing." If you close the gap, the letters would be properly trained. The gap that has happened on each 37 mm (1.4 inches) to the bottom of the page. I was thinking one of the plastic gears in the drive of the paper feed system is broken or clogged with impurities, etc. With that, I decided to open it up and look at the bowels of the printer. I realize that many people prefer to go out and buy a new printer that do this, but it's for the rest of us. Because it is unusable, and there is no alternative available, I had little to lose.

I unplugged all the cables power and carefully removed the top of the hinge scanner, being careful not to damage the cables sheet fragile 3 or 4. So I removed the 3 screws in the lid of the lower unit (printing). Carefully open and removed the lid of the snap-in using a knife and a flat blade. ATTENTION: you may need a second set of hands very patient to avoid damaging the hinges and cables that connect the top scanner at the base of the Ribbon. All cables can be removed gently from their connectors, but it's a little tricky. Tip: tape the scanner to scanner bed cover and the support arm to scan at the base of the scanner so that they are not flop around as you work on this.

Now, you are looking in the Open box. On the right side of the friction of the main axis of power (the tree is approximately 1/2 "in diameter and has a rough surface to pull the paper into the printer) is a thin, transparent plastic disc. There are thin black lines around its outside edge that pass through an opening with an optical sensor that the shaft turns, driven by the engine. This provides a precise location feedback paper power control.  The disc is difficult to achieve, so I took a Q-Tip with alcohol to friction and wiped two sides that I shot it through the white plastic gear. Make sure you do not damage it. I repeated until the Q-Tip has come back clean. It looks like a small jet of ink mist gets type everywhere inside the printer, judging by other surfaces. So, after a few years of use, he had finally started do the misread encoder and cause the power issue of paper resulting. I have put together and he has beautifully reprinted.

In this printer and I suspect in many other inkjet printers, there are 2 sets of engine controls, mechanisms and encoders. One for the race the printhead horizontally and one for paper feeding. In my research, I have never seen this mentioned. I've seen many, many messages asking for solutions to the "horizontal"white lines "-much of which doesn't seem to find solutions.  So, here's my karmic contribution to those who are willing to delve a bit inside the box. Good luck.

Awesome! Thanks a lot for posting this solution. I just followed your procedure for my Dell 922 AIO printer works again.
