Frequency of change to txt file.

Hi all

I have a question about save text files. I'm using LabVIEW to automate a test bench and the oven that is used to run cyclic tests with up to 500 cycles at 1 hour each. I read and display of temperatures on my user interface in real rhyme (which was part of the specification of the interface) However, I would also like to record my readings in a .txt file.  I have been using the function "write to the file of the measurement.

Now my problem is that for the time being, I save a lot of readings and my file size very quickly becomes very intense. I tried multi-object wait 1 second in my whole loop but it would give me again readings 1.8 million after 500 hours. Also, the wait function slows down the rest of my code and display in real time which is a bit annoying (especially if I want to get it down to save a reading every 30 seconds or more).

Is it possible that I can change the frequency of the intervals during which I record the temperature without slowing down my real time display?

Kind regards

Daniel

Use VI out of time. If a certain time elapsed, open a session.

Of course, it will simply change the question of when to connect to how the newspaper (e.g., size of log files). If the test bench works for a long time, that the log file will simply to get more and more wide. You will probably need to check the size when you try to open a session, and if it is greater than a certain number (your choice, or set via a configuration file), you start a new.

    Hello! Please help me in my problem. I'm setting up an AIR application that connects to a server. This application must be installed on several computers and connect to a single server. My problem is how can I specify the server domain name or IP address because I used HTTPService to get data from the database. My idea was to get the domain name of the server or IP address from an external text file. I used the

    [Embed (source = "serverIP.txt", mimeType is"application/octet-stream")]

    private static serverAdd: Class const;

    but then I realized that I can not change the serverIP.txt more that it will be converted or something. = ((plz help I need another method.

    Here is my code

    constant package

    {

    public class ConstantVariables {}

    [Embed (source = "serverIP.zion", mimeType is"application/octet-stream")]

    private static serverAdd: Class const;

    var v: String = "http://'+ svrAdd.toString () +'/ Zion/php /'; "

    return v;

    }

    }

    }

    the serverIP.txt contains the domain name.

    Hello

    You can use two approaches:

    (1) simply register the domain name in a variable within your AIR application and access this variable.

    (2) place the file serverIP.txt on your domain server and your AIR application must download this txt file by using the UrlLoader class and read the name of domain from this file. In this way it will be very useful because you can change the name of domain at any time on your server and it will automatically appear in your AIR application.

    Instead of a txt file you can use the xml file which may have other data that you need so that you can easily load and use the xml file in your AIR application.

    Please mark as answer if it helped you.

    You can use the use wizard (Navigator > file > use wizard) to define a new filter to import file for your data. It will take only a minute.

    Please find the uri of the file that I create for you. Copy the attached file in your disk, unzip it and double-click the file uri.

  • READ TXT FILE IN STEPS

    Hello friends,

    In the past, you have helped me a lot!

    Please, I'm reading the variables in a txt file attached. Variables appear between the lines 5187 to 5236 (49 lines). Below the threshold of 5241 to 5290 (49 lines). After the same variables of the line to line 8342 8293 (49 lines) and line 8347 8396 (49 lines). Among the variables, there is a 3106 line spacing. And so on!

    The Knight of OR helped me a lot to solve part of the problem. His tips were very helpful!

    I would like some advice to unify the txt file variables in just a chart. Is this possible?

    Could change the attached vi.vi?

  • How constantly write data in a txt file

    Hello
    first of all, sorry for the bad English, but I have a problem to write data continuously to the txt file... I have a chart 2D with values based 2 sliders (sliders values) and some functions I want to interpolate the value by using the bilinear method... and after that the value of the sliders, interpolated value and the value of the closest points, I want to write to a file txt... for every 2-3 seconds perhaps, it would be ideal to be formatted as ::
    x y f f1 f2 f3 f4
    ..   ..  .. . .. .   ..   ...  . ..
    ... ...  ..    ...   ...   ...   ...

    but... first of all I have a problem with writing data, because every time he deletes old data and simply write a new and it is not horizontal... I am very very new to this (it's obvious) and any help will be very grateful
    Thank you

    Diane beat me to it, I made a few changes to your code, so I'll post it anyway.

    As proposed, please go through the tutorials.

    I added an entry to the worksheet at the end node just to show it can be done at the end so. Table of building on a while loop is not very efficient memory, but it's just to show you what can be done. If you plan to go this route, initialize an array and use the subset to the table replace.

    All the best.

  • reading the timestamp column in the txt file

    Hi pros labview

    I work with labview 8.6 for about 1 week and I need help in reading txt files.

    the textfiles that I read have 2-11 columns.

    the first column shows the time and others show different channels where I measured the voltages.

    It is therefore no problem with reading of the voltage-columns and put it on the y - axis to a chart of the vi but I can't the time on the x-axis column.

    I took the basic "read file.vi" and it has changed a little according to my needs.

    hope you can help me, getting time on the x-axis column. (perhaps with a xy chart?)

    the vi and I have to read txt file are attached...

    Here is an example. The formatting of the x axis relative time will now do something.

  • Match two columns in a random txt file

    Hi guys!

    I have an entry like this txt file (the columns are separated with tabs):

    A: B:

    I need a VI that corresponds randomly to pairs, a section of 'A' with an element of 'B '. It must match all the pairs (in example 3 pairs), and only one element can be used only once. Of course that I didn't need the first line to be mapped (the letters 'A' and 'B'). The number of lines can change, and the values are not fixed.

    I would ask kindly for your help.

  • How to import a TXT file in my list of firewall rules?

    Good then I exported a list of firewall rules in a txt file. I then copied on some firewall rules. Then I saved the file txt and I wonder how I can re - import the txt file. Please note that I don't know of import policy...

    UH I thank you for responding, but apparently you misunderstood what I meant... When I go into windows firewall, there is an option to export the list of rules I want to know is how to re - import this list of rules in because there is no other choice... If so how do I do?

    Since I couldn't find a solution that I found something different that also works. I found a .bat file that you can put in the folder in which you want to block the program and it crashes all the exe files in this folder and all subfolders. You can even choose a fix before custom firewall rule... If any other person having this problem follow the instructions, I provide below:

    Instructions (found online modified by me)

    Create a .bat file, named "addfwrs.bat" without the quotes using italic text, then follow the additional instructions:

    off @echo
    REM FILE OF ORDERS CREATED BY CHARLES DE HAVILLAND 20/02/2012
    CLS
    If '%1 'is' ' GOTO: norulename
    RULENAME SET = %1
    ECHO creating/starting of firewall rules for all files with the rulename of 'RULENAME '? % *.exe
    ECHO.
    ECHO.

    pause
    Echo.
    FOR /r %% in ("*.exe") Do (@echo %%d KB
    ("NETSH advfirewall firewall add rule name =" "% RULENAME-% ~ nxG" dir = program = "% G" action = 'block' enable = 'yes')
    FOR /r %% in ("*.exe") Do (@echo %%d KB
    ("NETSH advfirewall firewall add rule name =" "% RULENAME-% ~ nxG" dir = program = "% G" action = 'block' enable = 'yes')
    Echo.
    ECHO done.
    Echo.
    GOTO: finish
    : norulename
    Echo error! -You have not specified a type Rulename - Addfwrs 'Rulename '.
    Echo.
    : Finishing
    ECHO batch finished...

    Additional instructions:

    Firewall Windows 7 works fine, but it's not easy to set up with several (very long) programs.

    I watched for centuries, trying to find a way to block several files .exe to Windows 7 only once; It seems that the only method was to create my own batch (windows script) file.
    I've added below for anyone to use / modify for their own purposes.

    Run the commands below (addfwrs.bat) file, will create inbound AND outbound firewall rules that block all .exe files in your chosen folder and subfolders to access internet.
    Very useful.

    To use:

    (1) place addfwrs.bat in the folder in which you want to block .exe programs (it crashes all the programs exe in no matter what subfolders if you can place it in a folder without any exe it blocks)
    exe in several subfolders both programs)

    (2) now run CMD as administrator.

    (3) copy the new directory (eg. c:\Programs Files (x 86) \YourProg\) where you put the addfwrs.bat file

    (4) paste it into the directory with "cd" CMD and a space before the directory (example: cd c:\Programs Files (x 86) \YourProg\) and press ENTER.

    (5) now run the batch file by typing: addfwrs.bat "rulename" example: addfwrs "BLOCK_PROGRAM_NAME_HERE".
    (Make sure there is no space in the rulename of the firewall rule, so use underscores as spaces.)

    N.B: It is important that you add a rulename firewall, so that you can identify the rules when adding to the firewall at a later date.

    (6) follow the information on the screen, he will advise you what rules he is creating.

    (7) check the Windows Firewall for new rules listed and you can then delete the addfwrs.bat file where you put it (it is necessary even if you can keep it somewhere for later).

    Quite.  Hope you find it useful, I certainly have!
    Enjoy!

    N.B: The new rules contained in the bosom of your firewall (In/Out rules), change as and when you need.

  • How can I stop Windows 7 open several instances of a .txt file in Notepad?

    If accidentally, I try to open a second instance of a .txt file in Notepad, I want Windows 7 to remember that another instance is already open.

    It was, in Windows XP, whenever you tried to accidentally open a second instance of a .txt file in Notepad, you would get a message that will tell you that another instance was already open. However, it seems that in Windows 7, you can have multiple instances of the same .txt file open in Notepad (without getting any notification). It is confusing because I tend to make changes to one of these instances given, and when I save one of these cases, I eventually overwrite the changes on other instances.

    How can I stop this from happening? I can't turn on a pop-up message in Windows 7 that reminds me that another instance is open? Can I change a setting in my Notepad file to prohibit the opening of multiple instances?

    Hello

    Opening of multiple instances of the same file in Notepad is by design.
