Full motion capture cursor trails

I'm trying to capture an exercise in writing requiring full motion capture. I tried varying the pace as suggested in the help documentation, but sees little improvement. Can someone give me advice on how to address the issue of cursor in full motion trails seizes. My capture is great - 1024 x 768, recorded at 30 frames per second and a 2 minute film.

Hi CowanJim

If you use Captivate 2, record a video sequence longer than about 4-5 seconds asking too much Captivate. Captivate 3 has evolved the ability to complete movement, but it is nowhere near Camtasia, if your goal is to have the full movement from end to end. That's why I see room in my toolbox for both products. Each has its own strengths.

I might suggest you try things would be:

* I know that you have played with pace and haven't seen much of a difference.
* Close Captivate and perform a maintenance of your PC. Delete all temporary files, internet cache, etc. Then, run a defragmentation. Basically, make sure the system is as best as you can. Make sure you have plenty of space on your hard drive. Besides, if you have two hard disks, see who is the fastest. You can find that you have a C drive is what we call a 'spin 54' or disc 5 400 rpm and you could have added a second disc which is a '72 spin' or disc of 7 200 rpm, which would be faster. So consider clicking on Options > Options for saving... > Full Motion recording tab Play with the setting "disable hardware acceleration". Here's where you can consider changing your 'working folder '. That's where Captivate hiding places before full motion capture it gets converted. SWF. 'Raw' data, if you want to. If you see something like C:\DOCUME~1\Rick\LOCALS~1\Temp\~CaC96, try replacing C:\ to remove the crud of folder. I think that can slow things down a bit. Or, if you do not have this second fast drive, change to the drive letter. Perhaps D:\. Also try to change the mode setting color video.

I hope that something here is useful... Rick

  • Possible to make the invisible mouse in Full Motion Capture?

    Hello!

We need capture interaction with our full screen Interface so that we can change it later in After Effects.

We want it to be very clean so I was planning on adding the mouse later through AE (so I could do the movements perfect).

Is there a way to ensure that Captivate does not record the mouse mode full screen? Or in fact, any way to Captivate perfect the movements of the mouse (going straight with each click, acceleration)?

  • Motion capture suit with no possible direct markers?

    http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3270845/see-Andy-Serkis-acting-as-Caesar-in-dawn-of-the-plan summer-of-the-apes.

I understand the motion capture suits come in all flavors. I note that there are a few green full suits and some gray suits with blackheads as indicated above (see the first 2 photos on the Web page with the actor Andy Serkis).

I also note that some combinations may have followed direct markers and LED etc. and can have no direct marker in the same Web site above.

I read that the footage of the actor in costume of movement "non-living" such as the above, images can be followed in PFTrack for example 3D and then body of that person may be replaced by another body 3D - for example Iron Man.

Please can someone explain how the workflow is to achieve the above? See the last message of the below thread that talks about this workflow, but I do not understand how this can work. Something tells me work, costume of the actor has to have some sort of online connection on computers running motion capture software, but something tells me that this workflow can actually work. Because if you look at the pictures of field 2 in the link above with Andy Serkis, you won't be that the suit is not the type used for the connections of mocap direct. So I think there's sort of 3D images and have a kind of workflow, may map a 3D built Iron Man costume on the body of the actor.

    https://forums.CreativeCOW.NET/thread/2/1013189

Anyone familiar with the workflow that above here? that is, without using live followed by markers but images of follow-up after the firing and replacement of the entity.

How can I use After Effects and any other plugin/program to accomplish this task?

No magic, just classic rotomation - figure you 3D on top of your hand-keyframe shot footage. Although there are techniques to extract 3D information after the fact even without markers, they need just pictures of reference additional or analogue. Whatever it is, it's 5 levels above AE and without any decent experience in 3D and surrounding workflows is not an easy task even if you had access to sophisticated like Equalizer 3D tools. Automatic stuff can only take you so far and you still need to understand what is happening to fix botched securities or guide the algorithms...

  • Monitor project does not contain the full Image captured

I screen captured vidios and imported using snagit in first Pro CS3, Source monitor contains full vido captured; However the vido program cut the bottom of the scree to the wide shot and is not visible when imported in CS 3 Flash.

    12-24-2010 7-17-28 AM.jpg

In the effect controls panel, you will see several effects (they appear for all assets), fixed and with the Clip selected, go in Motion > scale (and Motion > Position, if necessary) and scale to fit.

Note: if it's your main source footage, it is better to create a corresponding sequence/project, so that no scaling is necessary. Many other problems - source footage match of pre-selection of the sequence, which eliminates 100% for best editing.

  • Character animation: you can import a video for motion capture?

I use at present the trial runs for AE 7 day and I'm looking to register to continue using it and one of the highlights is the new character animation program. Can someone answer please the following please?

You can import a video for motion capture?

Character animator doesn't seem to like my beard, the capture is unable to find the edge of my face, so he moves, causing the character to jump on. Is it possible to import a video for motion capture to work off of, instead of a live animal capture?

This user publishes its results best for beard of follow-up with the face tracking feature, in the CA application: face Tracker errors beard for mouth open then maybe you should try face tracking in Ae... Another option would be to put some markers to track old school on those hard to deal with the characteristics of the track on the face (if it's a beard (maybe a green round sticker?) follow them and connect to the face tracker, and then import them from CA.

or just get a friend shaved to make this webcam for you!

  • How to cut or divide a video slide full-motion-8 Captivate?

I am trying to prune or shared a video slide full motion in 2 (so I can remove the unnecessary part). Buttons select the start time and duration do not seem to do anything, and the handy old TRIM function in previous versions of Captivate seems to have disappeared (OB).

Is this a FMR-slide, you will find the trim on the Options tab.

If it's a cpvc blade, there is a video editor dedicated with lots more features then cut: pan/zoom, inserting static objects, etc.

  • Support full-motion-swf files

    Hello
Is it possible to create a single swf file, even if the project contains partial complete movement records? Thanks for your time and your answer adavance. Ozlem

    Hi Ozlem

There may be. Here's how I accomplished it. This technique was developed by fellow Adobe Certified Instructor John Daigle.

Publish your project to a temporary location. To access this folder.
When you publish, it is important that you check your dialog box to publish Flash Player 7 shows that the version of the target.
After you have published, insert a space before each slide with video full motion (FMV). Configure the playback of the slide time correspond to the slide of the JVM.
Then place the corresponding JVM element that you find in the folder is where you posted earlier. After you insert, delete the original JVM slide. Rinse and repeat until all JVM slides have been removed and inserted corresponding slides with the FMV of the temporary folder.

Publish again (and still make sure that you publish to Flash 7 like target).

As I said previously, this process worked for John and it works for me. But I said it here before, and it failed for one or two people. I don't know why. There are a few small animations may need tweaking if you use them.

I hope that you will succeed with it... Rick

  • Safari and Firefox needs ways to hide the tab bar, bar Favorites (bookmarks), so that they are not visible to others your screen, or on the full screen captures.

Safari and Firefox needs ways to enable/disable/hide (the menu and via shortcuts) tabs, Favorites (bookmarks) bar, (and bar address [which do not have Safari]), so that they are visible to a person who you show your screen not visible on just one full screen. Yes, you can expose a screenshot that excludes one or more of these bars, but it is a nuisance to have to do, and in any case, that still leaves the problem of the bars being visible to other people who show you your screen.

The extension does not hide the toolbars?

On Mac in mode full screen isn't really full screen and don't cache not toolbars like on Windows and Linux.

There are extensions to hide specific toolbars if you can't do via "view > toolbars".

  • Full motion recording will not play back

    Hello users of Captivate,.

I have a new problem with my system. This has just started! I have a project with several slides in it. It's less than 30 MB in size, including audio recordings. I have a few (not sequential) slides with FMR, like drag and drop, etc.

Stocks drag / drop are not long - drag to select 10 cells on a worksheet excel spread, etc.

When I saw the project using the preview options (F4, F8, F10, etc.) the blades with FMR will empty.
The TMF is not. It is used to! The problem is reproducible on different computers.

Any ideas? I'm not wanting to redo all the FMR slides. Oh, the good news. They do seem to play ok when
    published.

  • Capture the Animation does not

I'm a little frustrated at the moment. Captivate does not appear that the program I am trying to create demonstrations for. When I do a drag and drop, it automatically performs a captured animation (full motion capture). But when I look back, the rest of the screen disappears except for the mouse and menu items, it appears above. I tried to add the program as a background, but it does not appear behind the animation. Basically, the screen turns white and then you see moving the mouse and a few menu items appear. Then, when this is done, the rest of the program returns. I find it very frustrating, because I think that Captivate is a very good product.

I thought about it. If you have never had happen, what you need to do is downsize your registration area. Captivate simply could not handle the complicated drag and drop motion capture while trying to capture the entire screen. Then is to "piggyback" the animation on the slide you want on initially. But at least it works. Juggle with transparency, help, too.

I also have a very high resolution, and I wonder if that contributed.

  • The combination of several projects to Capture

I'm a new user of Captivate 3, embark on my first project.

I need to do a demonstration of software which will include multiple applications at different times on the desktop. The best way to proceed is, of course, is to record the entire desktop. However, I was worried about my ability to edit the project together that I thought. I really just want some raw images that I can move on, instead of getting the demo right the first time.

My idea was to record each application on its own window and perform a particular function. I could then create an empty project; full screen for the reader flash in a web browser - 1014 x 713 (a non-standard size of office). I could then set the background color and add images on the start bar and a couple of icons; make it look realistic. Then I import my captured applications and position them where and when I want to.

It works very well with full motion capture video but the standard image capture is part of the blade and if you change the slide background, you lose the image of the application. It does not record the image of the application as a separate object.

Any ideas on how I should go about my project registration, all ensuring that I have the flexibility to make things a little more later?

    Thanks for your suggestions.

    Dominic

Hi Dominic and welcome to the forums of Captivate!

Your idea of capturing each application separately is a good thing. Allows you to maintain each in its own file of project, which makes things easier and improves performance in Captivate. You also avoid to try to capture the entire desktop to a weird resolution.

If it was me, I consider it must be able to show the Windows Desktop behind each application... with the exception of a few slides where you might want to show that there are many open applications, you'll probably find you want each application in order to be as large as possible to avoid scroll or needing items appearing partially off the screen.

If you want to really have 'small' application on a common background windows, capture each application to the desired size, but when imported in your master project, copy each context 'captured' project and paste it into your master image project. What makes 'float' and to be mobile/updated separated from the background of the mask. Do a "background" on each image, and you should be golden.

I also recommend to do some testing before committing to 1014 x 713, especially in browsers-Internet Explorer. Mode full screen can be problematic, and you can find that something like 1000 x 650, other than full screen works better.

  • Video quality with Adobe Captivate

    Hi all

I was wondering what is the highest video quality Captivate can capture?

In researching it does reference Standard, optimized, JPEG and high quality.  I was wondering if anyone knew what the dimensions are in fact and if it can capture in HD quality?

I'm picking out a software screenshot.  There are many out there, and Captivate is by far the most expensive.  But purchasing the Master Collection from Adobe and to love all software contained within the limits, I thought that this software could be useful for the needs of my screenshot.

However if the level of video capture is no better than Camtasia say I don't see the point in buying rather than Camtasia.

    Thank you!

You can create high quality capture content in Captivate to almost any desired screen resolution.  Full HD is about 1900 x 1080 pixels, and if your screen resolution is large enough, Captivate can capture at this size, the size of your file that results will be quite huge.  YouTube Widescreen HD, you can capture at 1280 x 720.

At this precise moment in time, Camtasia has the advantage on Captivate full motion capture video.  If the FMV is what you want to use for the content of the training or presentation and interactivity is not necessary, nor do you need a powerful feature evaluation, you must make a decision on the purchase of a tool right now, then Camtasia might be a good choice.  However, if you need create interactive content, with likely content of assessment SCORM for the delivery of the LMS, then Captivate is always the best choice.

Even to the extent of the FMV, if you can hang it off the coast of a little time until that Captivate 6...

  • Impossible to publish the project media with a calendar?

I'm trying to publish a project as F4V (converted to mp4) as a demo of the software (voice). That's why I need to keep the timlines I put in place in the captivate project, but it seems that every time that I export the project and media, I lose the timelines.

I would add that there is full-motion capture, which would need to be there so that are rather than be a certain period of time seems to be using a value default (3 seconds?) period of time.

I hope that it is something in the settings that I can answer.

    Welcome to our community

I'm lost when you say you must publish "with a calendar.

    F4V (with fixed rate)

I've seen other posts where audio incompatible is present and the recommendation was to use F4V with fixed rate. So maybe try that?

  • Record significantly delays the start of the application registered

    Hi all the

I have the demo version of Captivate 4 and I bought the real version. I can't support until I have save the product, but given its cost, I want to assure you that Captivate works the way I need it.

I am trying to record the screen of an application of 1280 x 1024. Other products seem to have no problems, especially of Camtasia. When I use Captivate, it delays considerably the 10 original of the request-20times, is almost unusable. I don't know if it's my fault. I use lots of movement, the application updates automatically screen, and I need to capture these updates requiring no input or the user's mouse movements. I don't care if the file is very important.

    Any Suggestions?

    Doug

    Hi Doug

If there is anything I've learned in life, it's nothing but honesty. So I'm going to be honest here.

I eagerly using Captivate, but so full of movement, that's what you're after, Camtasia is unquestionably the superior product and you'll probably be much happier using it. Complete movement with Captivate has come a long way from where it once was, but Camtasia is King when it comes to full motion capture.

Sometimes I enregistrer record with Camtasia, then mix it with Captivate by dropping what I recorded in a Captivate slide.

Personally, my vote is to have both applications in my quiver. Then recognize the combinations strong each and each use as appropriate. I compare this to the saw, that I might have in my garage. All saws cut wood. But a saw runs circles around a table saw for accurate angle cuts. Similarly, nothing is comparable to a table saw to rip directly to the long sections.
