FXD export from InDesign CS5, js

Hello

I need to export the InDesign file as fxg. I guess it will be something similar to the pdf export, but definitely miss me something. Here's what I have:

myDoc = app.activeDocument;
myDocPath = myDoc.filePath;
mySplit = myDoc.name.indexOf (".");
myFXGName = myDoc.name.slice (0,mySplit);
var myRootPath = myDocPath.parent.fsName;
myFXGFullName = myFXGName + ".fxg";

     //   var myFXGExportPreset = app.fxgExportPresets.item("ExportPDFCS5");

    myDoc.exportFile(
        ExportFormat.fxgType,
        File(myRootPath + "/" + myFXGFullName),
        false,
        // myFXGExportPreset
    );

Thank you for your help.

Yulia

To be absolutely clear, InDesign has no support for FXG (Flash XML Graphics).

  • Best way to export from Indesign CS5 for Ipad presentation

    Hello, I want to create a portfolio of our work to put on an Ipad, so I can show it to my clients. Would be nice if I could slip through the different screens by scrolling with my finger. Now that I read a few articles about it, but still I can't find out what is the best way... Interactive PDF is not supported on Ipad (?) so I should create an e-book, but which is the best way? Or is it better to simply add a few images in my photofolder and simply scroll through them?

    Thank you very much for your answers!

    There you go. You already have the opportunity to browse the images and run them in a slide show. There is no need to complicate things with PDF/ebook.

  • Exporting to PDF from InDesign CS5

    Probably a real simple question to answer, but I am confused.  I'm trying to export a bulletin 6 pages in .pdf format from InDesign CS5; It comes out as a 4-page document in the following sense: the first page is fine (vertical on letter size), the 2nd and 3rd pages appear side by side (horiz. / letter) like pages 4 and 5.  Page 6 is again very well (vertical/letter).  I never had this problem with CS4...  Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance, Wharton

    Interactive PDF is exported in is spreading by default, and the only way to change that is through the script. See Interactive PDF from InDesign CS5 has always Spreads on | InDesignSecrets

  • Export from InDesign to PDF and the PDF file last updated is greater than one month and not easily print on letter paper is PDF presets?

    Hello

    I export from InDesign to PDF page is larger in the PDF file, and others I exported. This is because of the present PDF? One of the project managers is not able to print on 8.5 "x 11", but the InDesign document presets are the same as before. I wish I could download PDFs to show, but the newly exported PDF is greater than the version I created a month ago. I created a PDF file and the newly updated PDF file is almost un.5 inch wider with the export presets even. Any thoughts?

    I suspect the project manager has his copy of Reader/Acrobat simply set to print full size, rather than "Worthy" (assuming that the size of InDesign pages is truly 8.5 x 11).

    .. the newly updated PDF file is almost un.5 inch wider with the same export presets.

    This has nothing to do with export presets. How did determine you this difference of half inch?

  • Fonts by which Suits as a PDF exported from InDesign

    I am looking for a solution to some fonts display incorrectly in a PDF file when they look fine in InDesign.

    I'm on Mac OSX, Acrobat 10.1.13 and 10.1.11 (update did not help) and font book is my font manager.

    Fonts are not lacking in InDesign and the control panel fonts shows them as installed. But the problem fonts seem to miss in the properties of Acrobat/Fonts tab until I have install with the font book. They all show as embedded subset.

    For example, it is a page of InDesign (ignore the contours of the block):

    Screen Shot 2014-12-22 at 4.31.47 PM.png

    Here's a PDF of screen capture:

    Screen Shot 2014-12-22 at 4.32.52 PM.png

    The police is Carta (the boxes), but of other fonts substituted a font serif for other text as well.

    I can't recreate the circumstances since I have now installed the fonts that were incorrectly. I guess that InDesign can locate and display fonts in the working folder, but can't Acrobat.

    It doesn't seem to be any warnings there is a police problem. Is there a foolproof way to find out if a font is being overridden in Acrobat?

    In fact, there is no such set of privileges as Overview of privileges in terms of integration. TrueType and OpenType fonts is to allow No incorporation (police cannot be embedded in a PDF, EPS file or ePUB in any circumstance), Preview and print incorporation (the police may be incorporated, but only for display purposes and printing - such text in the PDF file cannot be edited) or installable embedding (police can be installed later somewhere else).

    When you export a PDF from InDesign, if the font used in the InDesign document contains at least Preview and integrating printing privileges, it will be incorporated into the PDF file. Otherwise, you will get probably a warning to export InDesign, but also a PDF file which does not display correctly unless you have these fonts actually installed on the computer of the recipient of the PDF file system.

    The way to check regarding the font is well embedded in a PDF file is to open the file in Acrobat, press the Command D, then click on fonts at the top of the dialog box. Each policy referenced in the PDF file is listed. If the police is incorporated, it says either embedded or subset incorporated with the name of the font. If the police is not incorporated, it will also tell you what the font is used for display, perhaps the same font, accessed from your installed fonts or perhaps a substitution font.

  • Quality PDF export from InDesign and Photoshop problems

    Hello.

    I have problems exporting my InDesign files to PDF and keeping the Res. And it's not only images (I understand on the CIO) is the guy over there too.

    I exported as preset high quality printing - this is false. Are there other settings to make sure the PDF export retains the quality of high resolution and clarity?

    At the time of high resolution when I export jpeg or eps but not PDF.

    I also noticed the same problem when I export to PDF from Photoshop.

    I really need to create interactive and high quality print PDF of my InDesign files.

    Please can you advise.

    Thank you

    Karen

    Sounds like it might be that the setting resolution in Acrobat is not corresponding to the screen.

  • Need help, cannot export a pdf from indesign cs5

    Hello I used indesign several times so that exported this work in 2015, I've updated this 36 page book this year and I can't export the pdf file, I get no error, the background window does not move, I have every time to leave indesign, I can export indd. as jpg but not my indesign file in a pdf print ready, any ideas? I don't do anything different than normal (I think), thank you so much Cindy

    Here is another approach:

    Gather all your linked files and fonts help

    Frome, open the indd file in the folder of the package and try to export PDFs.

  • Having trouble exporting to PDF from InDesign CS5?

    This background task looks good on paper, but it does not work in the real world.

    There are serious problems with this feature.

    Export to PDF just of the coils on some files.

    Does anyone else know this?

    I tried ALL solutions workaround, but it seems to me that we should not "print at very.

    It must be a function automatic and thoughtless.

    Try using one of the presets by default and modify. I had some problems with an old custom preset in my printer, when I tried to select directly from the file menu, but no problem if I recreated in CS5.

  • Pie chart 3D with bevel deteriorates after export from indesign.

    I was the creation of 3D pie charts in illustrator and then placing them in the form of illustrator (.ai) files directly in my indesign document. However after doing so, he has a big loss of quality. The effects of light out as the striated white lines. Sometimes, there are random lines in works of art.

    Pie 3D with no lighting effects and no bevel seem to be doing well.

    To work around this problem, I exported the work as TIFF from illustrator and then placing the TIFF in indesign. It is a heavy workaround, increases the size of the file and also degrades the text under my camembert much.

    The two programs are CS5.

    Thank you.

    If you paste in front, the object will be selected to the dough. Just do not deselect anything.

    Sorry... Adobe went and changed the name... use Pathfinder > unit (it was called 'Add', a version or two), it takes the whole shape and makes a single object/path.

    Base color may be any color but white. Generally, I choose a base color that matches the color of the overal of the subject of the question.

    You could simply try the steps, then undo if you don't like the results.

  • A pdf file exported from InDesign, but displays various error messages when the same file is downloaded on the same laptop from the company's Web site

    Hello

    I'm having a problem with a pdf file created for my business. It exports without problems and displays correctly on my computer, but once it is transferred to the Web site and you download from here, pages randomly displayed not correctly, images and pieces of text go missing and different "internal error" messages pop up, such as:

    "An internal error has occurred."

    "There is an error on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the pdf document to correct the problem.

    "Failed to retrieve the embedded police"LICYDR + GaramondMT". Some characters may not display or print correctly.
    "Insufficient for an image.

    And when I close the pdf file it asks if I want to save even if I did not bring any changes to the document. It seems that everyone has problems with pages and receive different error messages. It is exported using the smallest file size preset in InDesign. Any idea what could be the cause? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you

    Sarah

    One thing to check is if BINARY is used in the FTP client. If a client FTP ASCII is used, it may corrupt PDF files.

    Here's another thing to check yourself for you. Find the size in bytes of your original PDF. Now, look at the size of the uploaded file in bytes. Are they the same? If this is not the case, ask your colleague the size in bytes of the PDF file on the server. Is this the same as the original, or bad file?

  • PDF exported from InDesign background missing when open in Illustrator

    Hello, I have a bit of a frustrating problem.

    I'm working on the graphics for a large project, and I need to get some of my InDesign files in Illustrator (they are two CS5) for our printer.

    I would have normally designed them in Illustrator, but my graphics are in InDesign and we just found out once we started on production, it needs to HAVE and needs our trim road put in place for our irregular forms.

    For MOST documents, its fairly easy summer (export in PDF format > open in illustrator and making a cut path > save as HAVE) However, I have this file which makes me lose my mind.

    When I export to PDF, it opens perfectly and seems normal in acrobat, and I also see in the preview as well. The background appears and everything. However when I opened the PDF in illustrator it completely loses the background. I noticed this before a few graphics, but I assumed it was because they had gradients, drop shadows and transparencies and all that. This file has degraded anything weird with the exception of a background of gray.

    Help? I included a few screenshots of what is happening in the hope that you guys can help solve.

    So, we are here to register, and then open it in Acrobat to check things.

    Now, here's what happens when I open it in Illustrator:

    It seems simple enough that you could easily copy and paste shapes in Illustrator and then redefine the type within a few minutes...

  • Send link in SWF exported from InD CS5 does not work

    I am trying to find a definitive answer on this. I designed a document interactive in CS5 InD which has the buttons and hyperlinks. When you export to SWF format, everything works except my e-mail hyperlink. It works very well in the InDesign preview pane. I downloaded the file on my test server, the problem persists.

    I found a post in another forum who cited a developer Adobe InD indicating effective email CS4 links was not exported. However, I could not find any mention of the issue of whether or not it works in CS5.

    Does anyone know for sure whether or not to send links work in CS5 exported SWF files?

    Some things to check if you have not already:

    • There is a problem known in CS4 6.04 versions and older - make sure you are on the most recent (6.06)
    • Make sure that there are no objects that overlap the button
    • Use ' options button' to make the links
  • Ability to export an InDesign CS5 clipping path?

    I ran into a minor problem. We have just improved CS1 CS5 in our society, and at the present time, we are very happy with the change to the more 'modern' (if you found my advice here).

    In any case, before the installation of Adobe CS5, I recently asked our TI-guy to reformat my pc and reinstall Win XP again. I did this so that I can start from scratch and eliminate most common pc errors in a near future, (I got this pc from someone else some time ago, who used and installed some stuff on this topic that I knew or needed).

    Most of my data and files have been saved and re-installed. However, to my horror, that I realized that some of the image files in an InDesign document that contains MANY traces of clipping are is no longer listed as related but missing. I checked and saw that these image files are not saved at all.

    Now the problem is not return these images that I can quickly download and recreate a link to them from a number of databases.

    However, these images were all carefully cut out in Photoshop by creating paths of shadow for each and every one of them and these clipping paths are now lost with the deleted files.

    If I check my InDesign file now I see that each preview still retains the original cutpath of the original (but now deleted) Photoshop file. I tried to mark this cutpath first, copy it and then tried to see if I could insert it into an image file I opened in Photoshop, but this does not - at least for me - work.

    My question is now.., can these somehow clipping paths saved and re-imported in Photoshop.

    All creative, ingenious, heavy and even crazy thinking and methods are very, very welcome, because I wouldn't sit once more and spending hours of recreating these paths.

    Hoping on some bright minds out there... ;-)

    Thanks for any help in advance.

    You should be able to get a framework it starting from the clipping path.

    Copy this image in illustrator, then copy from Illustrator to photoshop file.

    When you are prompted in Photoshop, choose 'Path '.

    Seems like a lot of work to be honest.

    I'd be inclined to redraw the paths again if they are not so complicated that they shouldn't take too long.
