  If it does not, it may be time for the list:

  Sometimes, (some) things may fail or stop working for no apparent reason. When (other) possible reasons/remedies do not work, it is perhaps a kind corruption (temporary or permanent), or even preference settings which disturbs, which can be cured with something on the following list put in place in order to provide a catch-all solution for otherwise intractable cases.   Welcome to the HP Forums!

  I understand that of course your laptop does not work SPACEBAR.

  Can you tell me if the space bar feels loose or "wobbly" on the sides? If you press the space bar in the middle or the hard means that it is not in contact with the button under the key. It is usually a hardware problem, not a software problem.

  You can see how to troubleshoot the keyboard here: keyboard for laptop troubleshooting. You will see near the bottom, they address stuck keys that will give the best Info for the space bar. The metal under the key rod can be bent by preventing the key works correctly.

  The simplest solution to your problem is to replace the keyboard.   I had the same problem. Initially, the mouse was mad for 30 seconds, but shortly after, it was worse. I switched the keyboard and now everything is ok.

  The text turns blue, because you mentioned it.  The most plausible explanation to highlight all of the text while typing is due to hit CTRL-A, which is the same as Edit | Select all.  Then when you type a character when this text is highlighted, then highlighted (blue) text is replaced by the character you typed.  Be very careful to not press the CTRL key instead of the SHIFT key when you type a capital letter A or else which will never happen.

  If your cursor jumps around then also scan your system against viruses and malware.

  I've not seen all messages more precisely the space bar. It may be as simple as a dust or dirt stuck under the key.

  If it was me, I take it immediately and get a new one. It may be defective. Why pay good money for something that may have a permanent problem?

  Second time this has happened. The first time I found a suggestion online that I create a new file, fill a section of silence, play it... then my original file would work.

  A variant of this process worked, but I don't have to replicate the success this time.

  For the moment, I can open or create a file, hit the space bar and nothing moves. BUT the play button lights up green and the level indicator shows the level of the sample when the cursor is sitting.

  Another post suggested that this problem was caused by the hearing looking for a clock to drive. This seems plausible, but the post says to set the master clock out, and that is how it is currently defined.
