Gadgets Sidebar calendar

In my Sidebar Gadgets, my schedule is not a Virgin and never used to be.  I uninstalled an reinstalled and it is always empty.

    This problem occurs due to lack of scripting Runtime check. Save the file vbscript.dll from an admin command prompt solves the problem. Follow these steps:

    Method 1:

    (a) open an Admin command prompt window. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator.

    (b) type the following command and press ENTER:

    c) regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll

    You should see the following message after running the command:

    DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll successful.

    Note: FixIt would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area.

  • Sidebar calendar displays but there is no date on this subject

    I deleted the McAfee that came with my computer and installed MS Security Essentials.  Now the sidebar calendar is there but empty, no date, no writing, period.  Someone at - it ideas?

    I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall gadgets follow the steps below and check if the problem persists:

    Not one:

    Uninstall the gadget, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start, go to Control Panel, programs, and click Windows features on or off switch.

    b. in the Windows features, uncheck the box Platform Gadget Windows and click OK to launch the uninstaller.

    Step b:

    Restore the Desktop Gadget Gallery back using the mentioned below as follows:

    a. open the properties of the Windows Sidebar by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel configuration, on appearance and personalization, and then click Windows Sidebar Properties.

    b. click on Restore gadgets installed with Windows.

    I suggest that you try the methods below to resolve this issue:

    Method 1:

    Open a windows Explorer window and then paste the following text in the address bar:

    %LocalAppData%\microsoft\Windows sidebar

    This will open the Sidebar gadgets folder, where you should see a file named Settings.ini.

    If this is due to recent changes to the computer, I suggest that you do a system restore on your computer.

    a. Click Start, type system restore in the search box and then in the list click on the system restore program.

    b. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.

    d. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    e. click Finish.

    What happens when you close and reopen the calendar gadget?

    Follow these steps:


    Step 1: Uninstall and reinstall Google desktop gadgets and check if it helps.

    a. go to start > Control Panel.
    b. open programs and features in Control Panel.
    c. click Windows turn on or off features in the left column of the window programs and features.
    d. uncheck Windows Gadget platform.
    e. click OK.
    f. click on restart now to restart the computer.
    g. place the check mark for the Windows Gadget platform.

    Run the gadget and observe if the date is displayed.

    On my sidebar l had the calendar, clock, 3 new and different climate zones etc., but they're all gone.

    When l try to re - install only one of these gadgets, all the getting is a small white square for the calendar, etc. or a shadow of the clock.

    Try to rename settings.ini and check.

    a. make sure that the gadgets are completely closed (check in the Manager of tasks for sidebar.exe).

    b. open the browser, go to %localappdata%\microsoft\Windows Sidebar.

    c. save the file settings.ini in somewhere else.

    d. Rename settings.ini settings.ini.bak (or something else), it will regenerate the file. You need to add your gadgets back.

    e. open gadgets, it must be resolved.

    Out of the Windows Sidebar and re - open again. To exit Windows Sidebar, right-click on Notification of Windows Sidebar icon and chooseexit. If this does not help, restart Windows and see if the calendar Gadgets make properly.

    -In addition, if necessary, please test this under an alternate user account.

    I just bought a new laptop from Dell with Vista home premium 64-bit installed.  I am the only user of this laptop.  Since I bought it, I tried to run the weather gadget on the sidebar.  However, to get an error message "service not available". If I hover my mouse over the gadget, the error message - 'service not available for your language or region.  My notebook of woman with the 32 bit Vista weather gadget works fine...

    Thank you for visiting the Forums of Microsoft Vista.

    We have seen all sorts of questions surrounding the 3 ladies of part antivirus\spyware\malware.

    It is therefore very likely that Mcafee hinders the widget. We can think that it is malware any.

    My advice is to check the Mcafee Web site for more information on the weather gadget in the service.

    You can also try a clean boot and see what it allows to run.

  • Sidebar calendar shows only orange... not the data either

    My calendar loads in the bar but shows only an orange page.  There is nothing else... no data at all. I tried the tools without result; It only allows me to remove the calendar.

    If it's just the calendar gadget that gives you trouble, you should be able to simply re - record a single. DLL to rectify a calendar gadget that looks like this,


    First remove the existing calendar gadget, and then click Start or press on the key and type cmd but don't hit. Search for CMD in the list above and right-click and select run as administrator. Confirm the warning of the DSU and provide credentials if requested.

    The open command window, type.

    Regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll
    ... and click on . You will receive a popup confirmation as follows,

    Restart the computer and add the calendar on the desktop gadget. It should now work as follows,

    If the gadget still does not work, you can try a much more aggressive approach to my solution on this page.
