  Thank you.  I ended up creating a new user and was able to reinstall the CC desktop app, but unfortunately, I couldn't go past the blue dial of spinning.  Since I'm due for a clean reinstall, I now have wiped the system clean and am humming in El Capitan.  Thanks for the help.  I hope there is an easier solution for this in the future, as this seems to be a problem persisted without a simple and coherent solution.

  Don't think the problem in Firefox. Tried to reinstall without cleaning profiles in AppData folder, but cleaning in Program Files, did not help. Subsequently cleaned all folders (in Program Files and AppData) and paste the data .sqlite files as witnesses of the old profile, works very well.
