• Updates to CS3 Master collection - where can I find them?

  Last week my hard drive crashed and I had to reinstall all my software that took me over a week! Unlike all other software manufacturer's Web site, I visited adobe seems to have no Portal download for old products! I guess they must be there somewhere, but I don't know where.

  Not only I would like to know how to find these updates because the automatic update feature no longer works and the original packaging included many bugs which have been fixed in these updates - but I would suggest that Adobe are in line with the rest of the software world and do this kind of thing easy to find. Accordingly does not make this easy - instead of doing the work I would be - I'm spending time on the phone, in chat rooms and on this forum all because I fell on one of the original bugs this morning (the function of indexation in In Design v5.0)

  I know now that Adobe only supports their current version and the other - so if you are a user of CS4 you should probably Archives what updates you have installed because once the fate CS6 - you'll go through the same thing I am.

  It seems that we have updated all the way back at the origin of Creative Suite.  Updates of Creative Suite 3 are to halfway to the bottom of the page.

  If you have a problem dl'g, you don't follow all 7 steps.  the most common mistake is not meticulously follow the steps 1, 2, and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system, allowing you to download the correct version of the adobe.com site).

  I tried to learn as much as I can of tutorials and just concepts from around the web.  I understand that I will, but think a book or two could help me as well?  I have several sites that I visit from time to time, I don't need help on that front.  Can someone give me some advice on what I should buy the literature?  I have the CS3 Master collection, and I hope to learn Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Dreamweaver and perhaps other programs related to web design.  I heard that the bible series is quite good, but since I'm still considered new I don't really know where to start.  And do not know if this is the place to ask, but as much web design is concerned, I also get a book for coding?

  You'd better to buy individual books for each application.

  Some books try to have an overview of several different applications, but they only give the strict amount of information about each of them and are basically useless.

  Books like the Bible of series are extremely large (Photoshop CS3 more than 1,200 pages), but do not assume that more is automatically better.

  I think they do, some of them just to impress people looking for a book of instruction at their local bookstore.

  The Bible and a few other books include a picture CD and give instructions step by step using the provided images.

  But they do not really explain how procedures work and why you would probably using this procedure rather than another.

  They said basically that, now this, something else, etc.

  The series by Peachpit Press Quick Start Guide distributed with the intructions of step by step hand holding.

  He explains how and why to do things and has screenshots on every page to display menus and tools, as well as the de facto procedures using Photoshop.

  Only Quick Start books give complete information and are usually much more affordable, which is useful if you buy several books for different applications.

  Peachpit Press has also another series of books, their series of real world. These are bigger books but without the CD, etc.

  Over the past 20 years, I had a lot of different books, but in my opinion, Peachpit Books are the best of the bunch. Your mileage may vary.

  CS3 is old enough, I guess you're looking at Amazon or other sellers online. You might even be able to get a reduced price used books through Amazon resellers.

• CS3 Master Collection Disc 2 fails to install

  For the last year and a half, my laptop has had problems.  I can't just go from Vista to Windows 7 without doing a clean install because Windows Update, Security Essentials, Defender, indexing and other stop working when I make the jump to the larger HD and I need.  With this issue, Windows 7 (or 8) failure of the upgrade (probably due to a bad hard drive driver, but I have updated all drivers).

  This means that I have no choice but to do a fresh install ("clean").  The only thing is that my disk 2 Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection disk 2 request fails.  After inseting the disk (as quickly), the progress bar starts and then the installation fails.

  I tried again and again, and it always takes forever to start over because I have to go through disk 1, first.

  If I can just download the archive request 2 workaround I can install other programs of the disc, but I don't see any archive older versions of the software.

  I know that it installed and running on Windows 8 (without Acrobat), but for some reason fails it install in Windows 7.  I tried to clean the disc, of course.

  The only reason why I have a computer is to run this series of programs.  As an artist, the PC has no other use for me if I can't launch Photoshop/Illustrator/Dreamweaver/Prime, etc...

  I mentioned the cleanup tool because you are already done with disc 1 and you seem to have problems with disk 2. If this is the case, then there is no saying what debris has already been installed or partially installed by disc 1.

• CS5.5 Master Collection downloaded, but Photoshop does not

  I am currently using Windows 7 Ultimate on a PC and I downloaded the trial version of CS5.5 Master Collection from Adobe and Photoshop is the program I want to test... but for some reason any it is working properly. When I start Photoshop, it opens fine, but when I try to open a picture to change, it gives me a Message of ERROR, then stop the application. What about other programs, they seem to work, but I have not tried to check all out them.

  Here is the message I get when I try to OPEN the image to change:

  "We encountered the following problems: setup initialization failed." This could be due to a missing file. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem. »

  But, when I click on the link Support Advisor in the pop-up window, it opens a new tab that says "Adobe Support Advisor has been abandoned", then it returns me on the support forum for assistance.

  1. can I remove Photoshop x 64 Adobe in program files, since you can't do it in the Add/Remove Programs section without removing the entire Master Collection. Then, download Adobe Photoshop as a single program and add it to the adobe folder? Or would I need to do something else...?

  2. can someone please tell me what I should do to get the Photoshop work, or how to fix the installer?

  Try the suggestions by kglad in this discussion in which a user has experienced a similar problem: failed to initialize the installation of adobe.

  If renaming the folder in OOBE or using the troubleshooting logs does not help, you will have to indeed uninstall, clean using the cleaning tool cloud creative to solve installation problems and reinstall. The uninstall program Adobe in general allows you to remove individual programs within a suite: uninstall Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 or Creative Suite 5.

  To reinstall, you can run the installer from the CS5.5 Master Collection and select Photoshop. I guess you can also download and install the individual version of Photoshop CS5.5, but he will not be part of your collection (location of the record, that I wouldn't recommend, will change in movement). Having Photoshop as part of the suite can be important to you if you just want to run the trial without having to activate, which I assume is the case. If do not want to turn on at the end, however, the individual version of Photoshop CS5.5 wouldn't recognize your Master Collection serial number.

  I would recommend running available uninstall programs located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder.  Once you have ran that uninstalling programs then please use the CC cleaning tool to ensure complete removal.  You can find instructions and the download to use the CC cleaning tool to resolve installation problems.
