GC 11 G AND network address translation

Hello

I have simple question, NAT is supported with GC 11 g. I know that's not on 9i.

Thank you.

I can't find anything about it on the internet. Creating an SR is an option.

The only note I found was: Agent fails to download through the load balancer, assure [1149610.1 ID] successfully which suggests you can use NAT.

  • How to re-scan the relationship between computer ip addresses and network names

    On my SBS 2003 network with six or so field PC clients and a few extra non-domaine workgroup (a few XP, some Windows 7) PCs, computers can access each other using \\computername. When I change the IP normally assigned by dhcp to a computer on my network to a static IP address, sometimes the other computers can no longer use \\computername, but I now have to use \\ip-adress instead.

    For example, A computer can open the folder "\\mypc\shared". I change the IP address on "MyPC" to a static IP, 192.168.0.220. Now the other computer must use \\192.168.0.220\shared"to access this folder '; \\mypc\shared' returns an error that the specified computer could not be found (or something like that).

    I know that I can enter the names and the ip addresses in the Hosts file, but it is manual, and computers it does automatically the first time.

    How can I get the PC to re-scan the computer names and IP addresses and link them back to the top?

    This can be a master browser problem, look in the event viewer for clues, these browser issues usually register error event ID 8021 and 8032.

    Note that this can take up to 13 minutes for a master browser broadcast and announcement answers from computers on the network, the browse list may not be filled until the ads are complete, so everything can be good.

    Stop and restart the browser to the computer repaired (or restart) on the computer that has the functions of the master browser will force a regeneration of the browse list.

    I found the problem (s), even if I am always left with a few questions.

    During this process, I have disabled the firewall, but that did not help. However, I noticed 'tweaks' accessed via the tab 'Advanced' in 'Microsoft Firewall' which looked like, they must be checked in order to access the internet. I checked these and reintroduced the firewall. After I got things working, I unchecked them and things still worked so I obviously don't understand what these parameters.

    The solution:

    (1) I have to go straight from the modem cable to the computer. I can't have a cable modem, router wireless, computer, even if using hard wire, and even if this same configuration works with another computer. Also, I can't use a cable length to go from modem to the computer. So, it seems to have had a problem of cable length. Power problem? Only connected to this computer devices are the mouse, the keyboard and the Ethernet. Would not this be fixed with an upgrade of the power supply? Or is it due to the quality of the Ethernet hardware on the motherboard? It's a Dell Vostro 200.

    (2) in back and forth between configurations while following the problem, you must think to unplug the modem to reset between each configuration. You may have stumbled upon the solution, otherwise he's not shot. Also, I unplugged the cable from the modem when you reset data cable - do not know if it was necessary. I wanted to limit the degrees of freedom that I had a lot, as it was.

    Hi all! I hope someone can help. I have a laptop and I take courses online in addition to the physical classes during the semester. I have my laptop connected to my network wireless at home. On the desktop, that's where hung the modem and the wireless router. Well as we all know, sometimes the connection bleeps out for a fraction of a second. Well, I can't have that all the time so today I moved the modem and the device wireless for my laptop for a dedicted connection more. No problem.

    I bought a BELKIN USB wireless adapter and wouldn't connect. He finds the modem and everything, but it would bounce back and fourth to acquire a network NOT CONNECTED address and then bounce immediately try to find the address. • List of all VM network name and IP address

    I am trying to get my head around powerCLI.

    I want to create a script that will the virtual machines on a cluster of output and display their network name and IP address.

    I have this so far.

    (get - vm). %{
    $vm = $_
    echo $vm.name.
    $vm. Guest.Nics | %{
    $vminfo = $_
    echo $vminfo.NetworkName $vminfo. IP $vminfo. MacAddress
    echo '; ' n ';
    }
    } | Export-Csv C:\vm_nic_report.csv

    I'd love to be able to limit the output on the cluster baised, but I can't understand this.

    If I run it without the Export-CSV, I see the info that I need on the screen, but if I add the Export.csv, my CSV is a colum with a bunch of numbers and no real value.

    Hello, TdisalvoOrinoco-

    If you want to limit the output to virtual machines that reside in a specific cluster, you can just start the whole expression with a Get-Cluster and then direct to the Get - VM with which you start currently (or use the - rental on Get - VM parameter).  Thus, the first line would be one of:

    &{Get-VM -Location (Get-Cluster myCluster0) | %{    $thisVm = $_    ## a hashtable for holding properties to be returned    $hshNicInfo = @{}; $hshNicInfo["VMName"] = $thisVm.Name    ## for each NIC, build some info with MACAddr, IPInfo, and Network Name    $thisVm.Guest.Nics | % -Begin {$i = 0} -Process {        $oThisNicInfo = $_    ## the current NicInfo item        ## get the IP info (IPv4 and IPv6 if there, which should be available if VMware Tools are running)        $strIPInfo = ($oThisNicInfo.IpAddress | sort) -join "/"        ## add the NicInfo items to the hashtable for later use with New-Object        $hshNicInfo["Nic${i}MACAddr"] = $oThisNicInfo.MacAddress        $hshNicInfo["Nic${i}IPInfo"] = $strIPInfo        ## this does not seem to have the network name if the portgroup is on a distributed vSwitch, so changed to the line after it        #$hshNicInfo["Nic${i}NetName"] = $oThisNicInfo.NetworkName        $hshNicInfo["Nic${i}NetName"] = ($thisVm.NetworkAdapters | ?{$_.MacAddress -eq $oThisNicInfo.MacAddress}).NetworkName        $i++    } ## end foreach-object

        ## once the hashtable is populated for all NICs, create a new object with the info New-Object -TypeName PSObject -Property $hshNicInfo} ## end foreach-object## sorting goodness from LucD (of course) at http://communities.vmware.com/message/1769991#1769991} | sort -Property {(Get-Member -InputObject $_ -Name "Nic*").Count} -Descending | Select VMName,Nic* | ` Export-Csv -NoTypeInformation -UseCulture C:\temp\vm_nic_report.csv

    This is similar to the script posted in the thread http://communities.vmware.com/message/1848022#1848022 (which post has a bit more info on the necessary sorting for good performance, but also another way to recover data, using Get - views).

    In any case, it is a little more that you might write to debut with PowerCLI, but that he gets the output you're looking?

  • RV-320 Port Address Translation does not

    Hi all

    I have a really weird question that drives me crazy.  I have a somewhat complex configuration that goes something like: access provider Internet by Modem cable ==> internal ==> ASA5505 ==> LAN router.  Have a few servers on the internal network, I want to be able to access from the outside.

    Everything worked fine until I decided to trade in my old router 1841 for this RV router, because it has faster WAN interfaces and uses less energy.  Initial Setup was extremely easy.  Port Address Translation is enabled by default, my internal clients can get out of the 'net without problem.  But no matter what I try, I can't access internal servers.

    I contacted the support of Cisco.  They spent about 2 hours on my machine and ultimately told me that the problem is with my ASA (it is no longer under warranty).  But still I can disconnect the RV and reconnect the 1841 (or a former 1605, I still have) and all begin to operate.

    To prove or disprove the ASA being the culprit, I decided to test trying to open an SSH session to the SAA itself.  Should not be double-nat, as the ASA didn't need to pass this traffic to another internal peripheral.

    Once I try a connection (and it fails), I check the log "inbound" on the RV he gets 3 hits, indicating 'successful connection '.

    Details of the journal are strange.  It shows the port as Eth1 and port out Eth0.  Seems to me this should be reversed, as I use as my ISP port WAN1 and WAN2 for my network internal.

    The IP Source address matches the external IP I use; lists correctly inside the ASA

    Most confusing are the MAC addresses.  The MAC Source does not belong to everything that I have, I would say.  I checked all the interfaces on the RV, the ASA and my switches.  The MAC (00:12:d9:54:a7:63) shows that belonging to Cisco.  My cable modem is a Cisco device.  But it shows a completely different Mac.  It is a mystery.  Then address MAC of Destination solved the WAN1 on the RV is interface * that * correct?

    Please tell me where I can go from here.  I can't believe that this device cannot successfully perform a translation of port address / redirect.

    Thank you!

    Brian

    Brian,

    Sorry about the way it had to go on the creation of personalized services, I didn't it would fail to ports known. I'll see if I can find someone here who can give advice on the installation of the ASA, although this would be a good idea to post your questions and config in these forums.

  • VPN and overlapping address spaces

    I'm trying to setup a VPN to allow a business parter access our network. The problem is that the partners use the same private address space as we do.

    I'm trying to understand how the NAT address translation is internal to a different address as the packet out of the VPN tunnel.

    There is a Visio Doc attached that shows THEM and 'US'. The side "THEM" doesn't use real IPs, I made this drawing because I'm an example put in place in a lab environment, so I took random numbers for IP addresses 'THEM '.

    The PC (s) of the partner must have access to two PC on my side. I got it working until the VPN tunnel appears between the two PIX501s and translated the destination address IP in a private IP address, but need help to translate the remote source IPs in private IPs.

    Here are a few exits of the PIX on the 'US' (my side).

    ICMP echo request incoming (len 32 id 2 seq 44033) 10.150.100.100 > 216.x.x.x > 10.220.2.10

    The source of the packet is sent to the address 216.x.x.x and then translated to its internal address of the 10.220.2.10. I need to translate the 10.150.100.100 address to something else, so he isn't wasting my network. Ideas? I'm a n00b PIX. Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    Sorry I don't have Visio on my PC at home but if you want to translate the source IP address of incoming packets for example. translate 10.150.100.100 to 192.168.5.10

    public static 192.168.5.10 (exterior, Interior) 10.150.100.100 netmask 255.255.255.255

    If you have a source address pool you could do

    NAT (outside) 3 10.150.100.0 255.255.255.0 outside

    Global (inside) 3 192.168.5.10

  • How can I change the network address of my Time Machine drive?

    Hi people,

    This is my second question in 12 hours. Thanks to help I received here, I abandoned my doomed attempt to use my old AirPort Extreme and a USB key for Time Machine backups.

    I've used my ReadyNAS for Time Machine backups, but it has never been reliable. I think I have tracked the question and I would like to try again. However, Time Machine remembers the old network address for the ReadyNAS unit (smb://NAS_TimeMachine.local/ReadyNAS) and does not 'see' the same unit at current address (afp://[email protected]/NASTimeMachine). You could collect that networking is not something I understand.

    I think that this can be also responsible for the boring 'There was a problem... "messages that I receive at startup telling me the drive could not be mounted.

    Is there a way to force the time Machine to forget the old address and 'see' a new?

    See you soon,.

    Grant

    (PS I have also posted this question on the legacy of networking community, but I think it's a better place for this)
