We just finished the Meraki stencil and the product group has reviewed and approved. I just he submitted to the Group of Cisco's Web for display, it should be on the Cisco Visio's download page within the next 24 hours about. Look under the security heading.

  • Cisco Visio stencil? Where to download it?

    Hello

I am looking for a particular style of stencil that I found but could not find the same type on Cisco's Web site.  -Does anyone know where I could find this type of image?

    Hi Justin,

Thanks for your message and voice Router icon survey. We researched the icon that you shared with us and this particular color and style made from the set of icon magazine 'Package' which was abandoned when the magazine ceased publication.

Although the icons with this color and style are not available, the voice Router icon in all depositiories icon on the website of the network topology icon at: http://www.cisco.com/web/about/ac50/ac47/2.html. In the second section (icons as Visio from Microsoft templates header), you will find the available icon PMS 3015, black and white and grayscale.

Here is the link to the file in vss 3015 PMS: http://www.cisco.com/web/about/ac50/ac47/3015VSS.zip.

Thanks again for your inquiry about this icon. I will also send your comments to the team that supports the network topology icon site as well.

    Thank you

  • General questions Cisco IDS

We are evaluating deploying a Cisco NIDS on our network. Someone told me that the Cisco IDS solution is based on NT (?). Say it isn't so!

Also, the module NESTS or IDS can detect common IIS attacks like buffer overflow, cross-cutting to code red/blue/etc directory. ? The ID in the PIX firewall detect these attacks?

    Thanks for your time.

With the code ID 4.0, all sensors that support this code run Linux, including autonomous sensors and the new JOINT-2.

In the old code 3.0, stand-alone devices ran Unix, while the blade of sensor for the 6500 has Windows.

Here is a link to the chapter on the engines of the 4.0 code signing:

    http://www.Cisco.com/univercd/CC/TD/doc/product/iaabu/csids/csids9/idmiev/swappa.htm

This will give you an excellent overview to the power of signature IDS 4.0 engines and the list of signatures, which includes most of the signatures you mention above.

    hope this helps,

    Peter

  • If I can do an Airport Extreme mobile network with a modem/router cable xfinity manufactured by Cisco?

Can I create an Airport Extreme (current generation) network of roaming with a cable modem/router xfinity manufactured by Cisco (DPC3939 to be exact)?  The modem-router Cisco/Xfinity put into bridge mode?

Can I create an Airport Extreme (current generation) network of roaming with a cable modem/router xfinity manufactured by Cisco (DPC3939 to be exact)?

Yes, if the Airport Extreme will be connected to the Cisco DPC3939 back using wired Ethernet wired, permanent.

The modem-router Cisco/Xfinity put into bridge mode?

No. I you have done this, the Cisco/Xfinity device would only act as a simple modem... so it would not be a wireless service to all.

A note of caution here... the support document you are referencing... Wi - Fi base stations: install and configure a roaming network (802.11 a/b/g/n)... use the examples that are long outdated does not follow with the versions present on a Mac AirPort Utility or iPhone/iPad.

There are some good general information in the document.

  • ActiveTouch general Plugin Container breaks down, there is no solution for this?

I am trying to access a session of WbEx who use this plugin "ActiveTouch General Plugin Container" version 105
    Tried with both versions 28.12.2013.820 & 29.1.2014.722

With the latest version of Firefox: ESR 31.3.0 & 34.0.5

In both cases the plugin freezes and I am invited to wait, or to close the plugin, the main problem is that during freeze all tabs are blocked, as well, so I can't perform any action.

Seems like a final update of Cisco solved the problem.

  • WRT1200AC/1900AC WIRED Intermittent connectivity software company (Cisco) VPN - resolved

I work from a Home Office 24 x 7 as a software engineer supporting the business intelligence world production for a credit/bank card issuer applications - so my 'stuff' has to work.  My components materials network and the machines are "top-shelf."  I recently added a WRT1900AC router and have started to feel the intermittent connectivity WIRED to VPN my company (Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client).  To be clear, this has nothing to do with the setting of the OpenVPN server is available via the user interface of the Linksys Smart Wi - Fi.  In any case, after many hours of research and changes the configuration on the router (with a significant amount of curse and aggravation), I solved the problem by using the areas of prioritization of media and bandwidth downstream from the HMI.  Question a also experienced, but to a lesser extent, during the wireless connection.  It was confusing, since generally the when router problems occur, they seem to be more related to the Wi - Fi connection rather than wired.  Anyway, I wanted to share this info with other poor souls that might have been ostrasized of their family, friends and colleagues as a result of this almost apocalyptic puzzle.

You are welcome. Happy holidays! Certainly happy to clarify as needed.

  • Cisco router linksys e1000 wireless

a friend of my sister bought a cisco router (see the above subject line). Unfortunately, I was not home at the same time. Currently, there are a desktop wired to the router and a laptop with a Wi - Fi connection. The person who set up the router I forgot the username and the password of the router (didn't even bother to write this info). I convey my computer laptop home from work where I had a connection to internet/router. My laptop (Dell classroom business), I can see the two connections without wire (secured and unsecured comments). When I try to connect to the secure connection I do not get any screen of security, connection, etc., guests. He said something like 'try to check the security info' - do not remember the exact verbage. Anyway, I can not connect. The signal strength is strong - the bars are green. Can connect to the connection of comments, I am not always invited for any connection and safety info. Run the ipconfig/all command confirms the connection. I have still no internet access. Don't know why, but the signal strength readings 'poor' - a single green bar (while the secure connection shows all the force green signal bars). I have installed / configured several wireless - never had a problem.  I need to recover the connection info router without having to perform a hard reset on the router (I have same access limitted in my house of sisters/partners where the router). Is there a way to do it. I spoke twice to the cisco technical support and received two different answers (not according to the first call, open Explorer, go to programs/cisco for the info). This must be done on the computer that was used to install the cisco installation disc). Help, please!

There are a lot of things I want to share with you on your router E1000 installation:

1 E1000 comes with an installation CD that has CIsco Connect (the icon looks like a house) to easily manage your wireless network (you can easily get your password for the Cisco connection). Cisco Connect (CCC) is generally accessible to the computer that is first used to install the router (maybe this is why the tech officer ask you to go to the computer used to install this)

2 E1000 broadcasts 2 signals of the main network and - network of comments. Once you click on the name of the network, you can easily connect the guest network seems to be unsecured However, when you access a Web site you will be asked a password. Always secure line.

    3. you can actually access to internet but not wireless cable but to the router.

    4. If you don't have the computer used to install the router, you must reconfigure and the first thing to do is to reset the router. You must configure manually if you do not have the installation cd.

  • Cisco TOR <>VTRX R1-2401 switches

    Hello

It may be OT in a PowerConnect forum but at least it's a switch...

It's my first modern exhibition switches Dell; but I played a little with Cisco kit.   Then, someone whose had more time on a VRTX me has received indications linking the module _switch_ of a VRTX to a Cisco TOR (C4948) switch?

The deployment is for ESXi (5.1) and requires several VLANS on the VRTX blades.  There are only half a dozen of VLAN involved so manual definition is not a big deal. Cisco C4948 requires 802. 1 q on the trunk of cisco-style connection to R1-2401.

Once that the ILO is the question of the internal port (in the face of the blade-server) configuration...

    General or Trunk mode?

    Extracts of any config?

    DRM for pointers...

    Hi Dave,.

Want to check in with you and see if you were able to get this working?

    Thank you

  • Reference Dell m6220 aggregated at Cisco 6506

I transition my old 1955 Dell blade chassis to my 'new' Dell m1000e blade chassis to the House and I encountered a problem. I'm posting in the network as it is more closely related to one than the other available categories.

    Setup: Dell m1000e with six stand-alone m6220 passes (not stacked) connecting to a Cisco 6506. Each m6220 spans four Gb blades in the 6506... M6220-a1, port 17, plugs into 6506, port g1/1; M6220-a1, port 18, plugs into 6506, port g2/1; M6220-a1, port 19, plugs into 6506, g3/1 port; M6220-a1, port 20, plugs into 6506, port g4/1. M6220-a2, port 17, plugs into 6506, port g1/48; M6220-a2, 18 port, connects to 6506, port g2/48; M6220-a2, port 19, plugs into 6506, g3/48 port; M6220-a2, port 20, plugs into 6506, g4/48 port; the process repeats supposed for the rest of m6220.

    OFFSET groups: po1 (12, 17-20) to po1 (g1/1-g4/1); PO6 (a2, 17-20) to po6 (g1/2-g4/2)

All is well. the Television ether on the Cisco displays LACP is in place and working well, like the fact the same command on the side of Dell.

I did all the LAGS interfaces trunks and originally supposed to Dell was like Cisco while none allowed VLAN defined means all the VLANS allowed. I've since read that Dell default behavior is to only authorized WHAT VLAN specified. I've added the appropriate VLAN on the side of Dell.

Pings between m6220 very well work. Pings to the rest of the network the m6220 very well working. Pings between the 6506 and the blades are not.

The blades run ESXi 5.5U2 and I added two interfaces tissue management vSwitch. I first tried to make the m6220 g1/1 an access port, but that did not work. I tried making a port trunk and setting one VLAN, but this does not work either.

What information is needed to help with this?

    Thank you.

I'm done just erase everything and start over. Sometimes when you have changed all sorts of things, create a clean starting point, it is what is needed.

Daniel, thanks for the reply and suggestions.

Here's the configs that worked as I expect. I hope someone can benefit from my efforts.

  • PowerConnect switch and Cisco routers

I have 4 Cisco routers connected to our Dell Powerconnect 7024. This is a laboratory environment where I'm having every act of router (2 per site) as a WAN gateway for these 2 sites.

    Site 1                                                                                                                           Site 2

    2 3 router

    PC - Dumb_switch PowerConnect Dumb_switch client - PC Client

    Router 1 router 4

There are a few other Vlans on the switch with connected devices. With the current configuration, these two sites can communicate with any other "site" connected to the switch on each route, with the exception of the other.

Directly connected to the router interfaces are in trunk mode, as it's the only way I could get the dell to connect with the Cisco. Ive read in other threads that the general mode is usually suggested on the powerconnect switch, but had no luck with this configuration.

    Router 4---> article gi1/0/23 (vlan 14)

Example: a ping from Site 1 can reach int 22 of the switch without problem, but I can't ping jump according to R3. As all the other devices on this switch can talk to these sites, I'm not clear if the problem is my config switch dell or routers. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You could probably create a static route in Router 1 router 4 with a priority which is better than the other options, so we're going unless the link is down.

  • PowerConnect 6248 switch for Cisco router

    Hello

I'm new to this forum and I have a problem at the moment between a Cisco router and a dell pc6248. The problem is that I lost conectivity in VLAN 1 when I connect the router to a trunk port in the switch, however I conectivity VLAN 2 through this link to trunk. The configuration of the switch:

    interface ethernet 1/g48

    switchport mode trunk

switchport trunk allowed vlan add 1-2

    output

    interface ethernet 1/g43

    switchport mode access

    switchport access vlan 2

    output

    On router

    fast interface 0/1

    no ip address

    no downtime

    fast interface 0/1.1

    encapsulation dot1q 1 native

    IP 192.200.3.1 255.255.255.0

    fast interface 0/1.2

    encapsulation dot1q 2

    IP 192.168.51.33 255.255.255.248

    output

With the above configuration, I lost conectivity with the host in the vlan 1 - 192.200.3.x/24, but I win conectivity VLAN 2, when I connect the router to the 48 trunk port in the switch. This means that the trunk link for VLAN 2 work but not for VLAN 1.

I read on the port of general mode, where I can configure the pvid of the port as 1 (vlan1) and it would be the unttag VLAN (even natively in Cisco), and I can configure the VLAN 2 like the tag, all this in the same port. What do you think about this? Someone have set up something like that?

    Best regards

    Erasmo

PD: I write from Chile, I apologize for my English.

I agree with you, I would try the general mode on the PowerConnect switch.

    mode console # switchport general

Console # switchport General allowed vlan add 2 tag

Console # switchport pvid General 1
