  I added a new column to a table, and when I generate the DDL I wish it were an alter table add column rather than a table to create.
  This feature is in the designer, so I think it would be in the Data Modeler.
  
  Just in case my description isn't clear, here are the high level steps, then it is clear.
  
  1 create logic model
  2. create the relational logic.
  3. create the physical relationship.
  4 generate the DDL and run in the database. At this point, I'm going to production with my system, and all right.
  5. at this point, we have an enhancement request. For the model, it will be a new column in a table.
  6. update of the logic model.
  7. relational update logic
  8 physical update of relational
  9 generate the DDL. Here, I would have generate it know that it needs to generate an alter table add column and does not create the table.
  This is something I do a lot as all my models are in production. I can't find how to do this step to get data Modeler to generate the altar.
  Designer done exceptionally well.
  
  Quite often, it is more than a single column. Changes can be many and made over time and at the time of generating the DDL you remember not every single amendment. To have the tool discover these changes for you and generate the appropriate DDL is a feature that I consider as very high.

  Hi Chris,

  you need to compare your model on database - database relational model even import and use the option 'swap target' - in this case 'expressions of alter' against the database will be generated.

  Sooner or later your changes will require the table to be recreated, and you will need to backup your data - you can consider using the 'Advanced DDL' option - script is generated that will land your table content (including LOBs) to the system of files accessible from the database and restore after changes. Well not try directly on the production system :).

For example, I may want to scan 5pages ofa patient office visit, yet, when I scan using the ADF, it separates each page in a single file.  I need to have the pages I scan have a single file.   Same thing for me.  I called HP about it the first time I tried I scans a document when my printer was 7 days old.  I was connected with the service to customers in India.  The technician spent about an hour with me trying to get the 6510/6515 printer to work, even to take control of my new 64 bit Windows 7 core i7 notebook.  Ultimately she essentially told me that even if it is announced to scan documents, this really means that each page is a separate document.  In other words, this printer, as well as all other issues, it is will only scan one page at a time.

• Generate the DDL to create the table in the database

  I want to create the new fact and Stadium as being under the statement:

  (1) in the designer, access the models > Oracle BI Applications (folder) > (model) Oracle BI Applications > done (sub-model) step, right click on the WC_SAMPLE_FS data store and select duplicate the selection.

  2) double-click the new data store, and then rename it. Name and resource name must match the name of the actual table. Alias can be the same or greater value easy to use.

  (3) in the sub-tab of the columns, add all columns.

  (4) repeat the same steps to create the fact Table by copying the data store WC_SAMPLE_F under the submodel of "facts".

  (5) for the fact table, define the type of OLAP to "fact Table.

  (6) generate the DDL to create the table in the database.

  In step 6, I don't know where and how to generate the DDL to create the database table. Please help me. If you have another tutorial with screenshot, please share with me. Thank you.

• Install RMS 13.1 how to add limits given in the ddl for UK files?

  I installed RMS 13.1 without running the partition.ksh script during installation detail for RMS database and it has created some examples of data too, I saw the Guide installation and especially watched the stages of partitioning in the Guide, can someone give a hint, how the data limits are changed in the ddl for UK files? Since I'm a DBA, I'm a little confused, where to get this data? as the installation guide mentions that the RMS_partition_defintion.xls has modified and used for installation of production combined with partition_attributes.cfg for a production facility.

  Let's see...

  UK means United Kingdom of great brittain? I think that there is no UK specific DDL instructions associated with RMS.

  If you look at the Installer (unzip the zip to edelivery.oracle.com for example RMS 13.1), order folders

  V16908-01\rms_13.1_install\rms13dbschema\rms\dbschema\dbscripts_rms\examples\part
  V16908-01\rms_13.1_install\rms13dbschema\rms\dbschema\dbscripts_rms\ddl\part

  This package contains a ksh script which is driven by a script configuration and some lists of specific partitions in the data_def folder.
  This script partition.ksh can recreate DOF to other unpartitioned tables to partitioned.

  The XLS file mentioned also in this file and helps defining the number of partitions and make one or for example multidimensional (e.g. range/hash).

  The whole process is explained in a lot of details in the last chapter of the guide to implementation of goods merch-131 - impg.pdf.

  When your system already contains data, this should be saved and re-established.

  Note that indexes on partitioned tables may need too many partitioning, it takes at least some reflection on this and AFAIK the RMS installation program tries to respond to this also.

  I'm currently building the BB10 webworks app sample using the example provided in the phonegap blackberry folder.

  I am following the exact steps provided in phongap Start Guide.

  When I run the command ant qnx generate in the terminal I got follwing answer.

• Generate the name of photo file photo title - can I do with an automated procedure.

  I imported into pictures of thousands of old pictures with long, descriptive file names.  The problem is that the metadata for the title remains empty for all the imported photos.  I want set title for each photo to its file name.  I've been going through photos and copy the file name to the title on a basis of photo by photo, but I simply have too many images to pass through them without making my job full time.

  Is it possible to automate the assignment of file name for title in situations where the title is empty?  Is it possible to ask for the title to be considered file during the import process name?  (Apple: if not, why?)  Can I write a script to assign the title of file name?

  The sqlnet.ora file above does not create a trace file when you try to use SQL * more to connect to the remote database.

  What could be the problem?  (The user has write access to the directory where the log file and the Commission of truth and reconciliation must be created)

  Answered my own question.  It was that o/s was THAT RHEL 5.3 and that caused some compatibility problems.  Updated to 6.5 and all is fine.

  These DDL generation options are important if you have associated objects (for example, Tables or Types structured) with PUBLIC or MDSYS users in your physical model.

  If you expand these nodes in the dialog generation DDL, it will show the objects that have been associated with these users and allow you to select whether to include these items in the generation of DDL.

  I followed the instruction from the link below

  Re-engineering of your database by using the Data Modeler 3.1

  Here's what I did.

  1. the tables imported using import-> MS SQL 2012 data dictionary (used jDTS 1.3.1)

  2. Add new column to one of the imported tables of the Data Modeler

  3. click on synchronize data dictionary button

  4. compare the contextual model poster! indicating there is gap, but the DOF Preview button is disabled.

  Would you advise me what I got wrong?

  MODIFY the script is only supported for Oracle databases.
