George Johnson: Resolution of the Image in Acrobat even downsampling

A few minutes ago I tried to distill for Images to avoid the downsizing when using MS Word to save the file in pdf format. I also set the Acrobat preferences so that the creation of a PDF in Word format would create 'High quality impression.'

However, I get the same result as before: images that are 300 DPI in the end Word up to 150 dpi in pdf file.

What Miss me? Anyne can tell me?

Thank you

GeePapa

When you do a "Save As PDF" in Word, it does not use any component of Acrobat to do the conversion, change the settings for Distiller would have no effect. As you found, if you use PDFMaker, it does. You can also print to the PDF printer that is installed with Acrobat to create a PDF file.

I never created a PDF using Word built-in, so I can't help with it. I suggest that you use that Acrobat provides instead.

  • What is the resolution of the image in the file PDF for a "add images"?

I use Acrobat Pro XI.  I've added a 600 dpi image for my PDF file.  When I click on it, and copy a piece of it, and then paste in paint, the image resolution is 96 dpi.  How will I know that the resolution is of images in my PDF?  I try to keep at least 300 dpi image resolution.  Thanks for any help to understand this.

then paste it into paint, the image resolution is 96 DPI

It is the consequence of the use of the OS clipboard.

A PDF file may have contained the image of different resolution.

You can look in the preferences of the application - convert to PDF - [select one of the supported image files formats] to observe the parameters.

Some are configurable by the user.

Basically if you put 'x' ppi which is the resolution of this image that is not on the PDF page.

  • Resolution of the image has changed after the calibration of the image

    Hi all

I put my webcam resolution up to 1280 x 720, but after the Calibration of the Image, the video changed to 1364 x 730.

This affects at the coordinate of filtering? It is very important in my application.

BTW, Pattern Matching 4, there is an exit of matches (real world), how to give him information to translate from pixel in mm? Currently I use corresponding pixel and use a few calculations to translate correspondence in mm. And where is the origin of the actual coordinates? It is also in the upper left corner as pixel coordinates?

    Hello

You can try using the "IMAQ convert Pixel to Real World VI" to transform the coordinates of the pixel to the real world coordinates.

    Best regards.

    Daniel.

  • Resolution of the image when you place the InDesign file in InDesign

I feel like this is a silly question but I do not know the answer!

If I place an InDesign file that contains a picture in a another InDesign, the resolution of the original image file is kept? For example, if I have an InDesign A5 file, that contains a chart where the ppi effective (because it's been reduced) is 600 dpi, and then I place the entire InDesign file it in another file and EXPAND, what happens to my graph?

    Thank you!

I have a document with an InDesign file linked, an area of text that is used in many documents, so interested in this issue.

I did a quick test and it seems to work as it should. I made a smaller file with an image linked and bound the Indesign file in a larger document, and since it is a linked InDesign file it recognizes and displays the image in the links Panel.

  • How can I adjust the images in acrobat format without affecting the text?

I get a variety of analyses - news print, logos, etc., and whenever I try to change anything in Acrobat format he rips the text and image of Mischa.

I just try to convert it to grayscale for crying out loud!

    How to avoid this?

I had the same problem. After you open the editing tool to "Return to the image", and now he will remember this preference. See here for a better explanation: Edit scanned PDF, Adobe Acrobat DC format

Once you get to the editor at the stage of Photoshop, I'll be very curious to know if you encounter the same problem that I described here: Edit PDF using the Photoshop file size problem

  • How to change the resolution of the image without shrinking the image in Photoshop?

Hello world. In Photoshop, if you change the resolution to 300 to 72 image it automatically changes the size of the image (narrowing it) but if export you for the web, he transforms it in 72 DPI without changing the size of the image! How can we just change the image resolution in photoshop while keeping the image of the same size (pixels high and wide) on screen? It is a problem because if the resolution is higher than the text is smaller! (when I put text) if I really need all my images 72 dpi without their shrinkage. Does anyone know how can this be achieved? Thanks a lot for your help.

Uncheck resampling in the dialog resize. Frankly, if you post on the web, all that really matter is the pixel dimensions. The 72 dpi is really meaningless. A lot of post of places they need to 72 dpi, just to try to do that people don't give big files, but you submit something within the propler pixel size, it can be any dpi.

  • Can I change the resolution of the image or convert to CMYK first?

    Hello.

To post a picture, I create a book cover.  The original image is a JPG in iphoto.

When I copy JPG file on the desktop and 'get info '.

    size; 1 547 827 bytes (1.5 MB on disk)

When I open the JPG in photoshop and image size , that's what I see.

The criteria of creating files requires:

    CMYK

    resolution 300

    image dimension 5.25 x 8 inches.

I tried many, many things without reaching the result I want.

    The image looks too grainy.

    Question1.

What is the logical order to these settings for the more strong final image.

    Question2.

I decided to do it too.  I thought it would be more logical

File > new and adjust the setting here: cmyk and resolution.

BUT when I incorporated place image, it came out very strange; a bunch of different colored squares.

    Question2.

I read that a .pdf file is a quality superior .jpg so when I finished my changes I'll drop the .pdf in the cover model.

Who will give me the best quality?

    Question3.

Why are the different sizes of files between office and within photoshop?

    Question4.

The image is of the ocean in the early morning, so there a bit of your Brown.

I would like to have a Blue tint and I put the rest of cyan to-22.

What is the best way to get the effect?

Since you're familiar with Indesign, I recommend that you use who and not PS for your design.

When you create a new document, make sure you choose print new document under the intention in the dialog box.

And use the file > Place to insert the image - do not copy and paste.

If you have any problems or questions about the ID, post in the Indesign forum, and I am sure that you will get help.

  • How to change the resolution of the image without actually modifying its size?

So I'm changing the resolution of the 100 images at 300, but they are all different sizes, so I tried to use the function of the size of the Image to change the resolution, but it also changes size of the images. So, how can I without changing the size of the image?

    1. you must resample.

    2. you can automate the process.

    1.

    Open one of the images.

Go to Image > Image size

Set the units of percent (100)

Change the resolution to 300 dpi (not cm!)

    Do Resample is checked

    2 Automation

Test the steps above to make sure it works.

Save the steps as an action.

Make a droplet of the action.

Drag the folder with the images of gout.

  • Bad resolution in the images uploaded on Pinterest

I'm at the end of my mind and I can't for the life of understand me what causes this problem. I created graphics for use on our social media platforms that have problems during the translation of Web software. As long as they are high resolution in Photoshop, once uploaded to sites like Pinterest, it seems that the resolution is something funky around the text in the chart in particular. I tried to change the dpi, change the bits per channel, recording JPG and PNG, making the higher resolution and lower, flatten the image, pixelation of text layers and nothing works. Pinterest is the worst of the platforms, but there are traces on Twitter and Facebook as well in appearance.

Is this something to do with the settings of Photoshop? Or is this just a problem with the site? I know that I can be quibbling here.

    Anything to help. Thank you.

It's not your fault: Pinterest processes images uploaded with predefined jpg that is "good enough" quality, but jpg is formidable as the format for the illustrative vector illustrations sharp and lettering. As in your example.

The result is fringing and blur, because jpg uses lossy algorithm to save the picture data, who loses the original edges in the process.

Many Web sites that allow you to download images will process your images in a similar way. Some allow more control, but most are not.

BTW, Pinterest scales down from any image with a maximum width of 736px. Any height, seems, is allowed.

Accept, let go and move on! :-)

  • Need higher resolution of the image in the workspace

How can I get the best image resolution in my workspace of 6 CS organization? I see a setting that says "complete." Are there more parameters? I need full resolution in the editing process.

    IMac 27 "OS 10.8.3

    Thanks in advance.

    Thomas

Complete is the highest resolution. You can change the program to 100% of the size monitor if you want to see the highest resolution in native format and to get an overview of quality if you do not have a reference monitor. Change back to Fit while you work.

  • Export the Image of Acrobat

I have an InDesign document that has anchored two JPG images. An image that has kept the link to the original file, the second image is more linked to the original file and does not exist. Let's say a picture of a tree and the second image that is no longer the link is to a car just for help in this discussion.

When I generate a PDF and run the "Export all Images" function from Acrobat, it exports two JPG images.

How is Acrobat able to export the second image (car) if the original source file no longer exists?

And the other image (tree), which is still included in the InDesign file. It seems that Acrobat exports this dimension and image size defined in the InDesign file. That is totally different from the original JPG file if you open both images in Photoshop.

Just trying to get a better understanding on what Acrobat exported when you use the function "export all Images.

When you generate the PDF file, all image data is stored in the PDF file and in no case is based on an external file. When you export an image from the PDF file, it takes the image data and generates a new file that will be necessarily different from that of the original source file, for a number of possible reasons (different physical size [as in your case], different compression method, subsampling, etc..)
