Get an alpha channel to AFX export to Photoshop

I have an image in After Effects CS4 with text top and transparent background.  I need to export it as a png (and keep the background transparency).  I tried to do that in many ways (as single image or sequence png after having reduced the work area to my unique, as well as alpha prematted or right (both with RGB 16million more)... but I get a black pole in the background.)  Tried exporting as png and photoshop file.

Can someone explain the correct way to do this?  (The alpha channel to transfer to photoshop, so if there is a simple way to use it to mask the background (or in the part of the image that I need) I guess it would have enough.)  It was just saying that I have to make my bright green text or something in AFX and then convert to black in photoshop.

Is this some sort of bug or am I just missed the simple way to do this?

Thanks for any help.

Yes, of course, you must select the content of the layer to be deleted. removal of the pixels in the mask itself will be it degenerates and increase the contrast. You can also apply the selection as a layer mask. Click on the respective icon KEY at the bottom of the layers palette or selection--> save the selection, with the destination, the value to This Document and a new channel (layer mask).

  • Importing video alpha channel: what to export for Adobe Premiere? Reduced file size Important.

I want to import a small 20 second animation at 1920 x 1080, RGB + alpha superimposed, all less than 5 MB of After Effects in Adobe Premiere. What are my options? Used to be my go-to the file format FLV files. An example FLV pose this requirement would be around 700 KB.

Export in. MOV with Alpha as a result of this same file 700KB to 950MB (difference of size of files after x 1350).

Export in. AVI with Alpha translates this same file 700KB to 9800 MB (a x 14000 times difference in file size).

Export in lossless with Alpha translates this same file 700KB to 1100 MB (difference of size of files after x 1500).

I surrender all the little animations of 10-30 per project and make them all integrated into Adobe Premiere, so a dynamic link is not practical. This was a nice project of ~ 15MB will now have to be (at least) a project of ~ 20GB. This is not sustainable.

    Any help appreciated, thanks.

    My choice would be Cineform.

The files will be not small, but it is an unreasonable expectation here, I think.  The size of the intermediaries is not usually something that worry, not only the expected results.

  • ProRes alpha channel?

    Am I missing something?

When I choose ProsRes as the output me only allows ME to make my AE comps that RGB or Alpha. "RGB + Alpha" is grayed out. What I am doing wrong?

    See you soon!

    Hey Karel,

You can use ProRes 4444, but in order to get the alpha channel, you must change the settings to 32 bits, while the alpha channel can be included. It is similar to choose RGB + Alpha channels and Millions of colors + bit depth in the QuickTime standard dialog box. Check out the screenshot.

  • export the image with an alpha channel in cs3

on the video layer 1 I have a background image and video 2 I have a psd numbered video of maya (is the text animation) with an alpha channel (black is the alpha).

If I export the end frame (even with 1 off video (background)... I don't get a bmp or tiff with alpha channel image.  I get the black background.

is it possible to export end frame and keep the alpha channel?

    Thank you!

Search millions of colors +, this will give you channel alfa.

  • How do you get the 32-bit floating-point effects of working with an alpha channel?

I do a few bugs, and lower thirds, but I find it very difficult to obtain effects of 32-bit floating point for export with transparency properly.

When I do translucent animations with brilliant light effects, they look great in AE but I can't seem to find a way to bring Final Cut and get them to look as they should.

I have attached this example of a bug with a screenshot of EI on the left with the CPF on the right. The Sun of colors and gradients of vibrant blue get flattened in a dull greenish color.

    Screen shot 2010-10-18 at 3.51.04 PM.png

As far as I know, all my alpha and color management settings are correct. I tried the options endless and codec settings to try to solve this problem, nothing helps.

You can create an extreme, as for example by creating a translucent shape, crank the path of color to a saturated color superwhite and moving it around with the motion blur. The rendering looks pretty good to make an 8/16-bit, and nothing like he did in your Web.

I have the feeling that superwhite with alpha channel color values are multiplied by the way AE gets ' lost in translation ' when it is rendered 4-channel 8-bit. Is it possible to look the way it does in the Web?

    Thank you

    Clint

There is nothing wrong with AE, you have just a poor understanding of the works of floating point processing. In short: you're confusing mix of transparency, and this is why everything falls apart when you export. The color is still there, there is simply no opaque pixels to process on and so she never shows upward, much less in an environment that only works in 8 and 16 bits as FCP, limited killing already loyalty by using an 8-bit format. That's all that happens, and unfortunately there really isn't much you can do. Unmultiplying the result based on luminance should give you a usable result, but it remains an approximation, and regardless of whether you use the same blend modes in FCP, it will never be the same work. So in conclusion, a better way to do this would be to work 8 or 16bpc and make it look as if she were 32bpc. That is, if you can't make the final stage in AE, where even once, you'd be able to get a good mix in the float.

  • export the video with alpha channel

    Hello

I am brand new with Pro CC first. I completed a sequence where V1 has a series of still images, of small size, so I can see the video clip on the V2 in the background.

I already exported only and it works very well.

I would now like to export the clip on V1 by single with alpha channel so that I could put a different background in a new sequence.

Read and followed the instructions as described in the forum, but they must use something different than what I use (first Pro CC on a laptop with windows 7 Professional), because I do not see the indicated settings.

Once the clip is exported with an Alpha channel, I'll bring Premier Pro and everything just change the background several times so I will gradually in with several different sequences.

How could I accomplish this export with an Alpha channel?

    Thanks for the info.

    Bert

    Hi Bert,.

I think you have your tracks reversed, the stills would be on background on V1 and V2. Of course, if a SINGLE export with alpha and no background, then you can simply use V1 (but later, we clip you made must be V2 or higher to insert background on a bottom rail to show areas of the alpha channel). Export using QuickTime > GoPro 12-bit with Alpha codec.

    Thank you

  • Export with alpha channel and edges are jagged

I have a short animation which is mainly a PSD of a NC card with some thumbtacks animated on the subject. I have a local cable company eager to export the animation with an alpha channel. It uses first on a Mac, I'm PC. Any codec I use that supports an alpha channel, the outer edge of the graph of the State comes out shredded. Zoom in on the PSD in PhotoShop shows that the edge is not embattled, so I guess that's what causes the tip ragged to export.

Here's the grab of the export. With QT Animation codec quality 100, but produce the same results with DNxHD, Cineform, PNG, etc.

  • Cannot export with ALPHA channel... Really disappointed in this topic!

It's a sad day today, people... I just realized that I can't export my videos with an alpha channel in Premiere Pro. I can do in FCP7 but, for the life of me, I can't find a way to do in 2014 CC PP. I even did a quick video to show this community wonderful adobe what I'm doing and I hope one of you respond with something like "no, dummie, you aren't doing things!" This is how you are supposed to do"and then I'll be like" Yes! " I'm so stupid... not! »

But seriously though - how to export a video with an alpha channel of Premiere Pro? I tried all the codecs - Animation, ProRes 4444, PNG... same result with each of them. What is the problem with me?

I think that your problem is because you change the blending mode to screen. Screen requires something on the screen and if you delete the video under the video screened, there is nothing for her to the screen and it becomes opaque. You can see if you go the program monitor to view on a grid of transparency instead of black (click the key int the program monitor and select the transparency grid).

Rather that to use the screen, set the mode to merge back to the normal and make a mask in the shape of the white bar.

  • Alpha channel renders in preview, but not in the exported file.

I have a pronounced After effects with Animation codec quicktime video that has an alpha channel.  Looks great play on the timeline in the first cc2014, but when exporting the layer alpha is made black.  I did exactly the same thing several times in previous versions of first without problem.  Is this a known issue with the first?  Is there another way to do that properly renders Media Encoder?

It is a remake of an old video from SD card HD.  So, all this has been done before with success.  Why does cc_2014 not make it properly?

    Thank you.

Problem solved.  I closed the first and Media Encoder and then reopened them and they made the alpha channel properly.

  • On export, problems of bleeding/alpha-channel-ish of strange color but no alpha...

I hope someone can help us with that.  When I tried to export a first project today, I got some unwanted colors of the Rainbow on the white text.  The video was done in After Effects.  I suppose I must have been caused by an alpha channel (as I think I've seen something similar to this before with ups screw alpha), or some other unusual setting. But codec is simple and frequently used (Avid HD). The AE file seems fine.  It looks good on the chronology of the first.  Only the first export is over.  Each codec I've tried - H.264, MP2. . always the same question.  The only type that does not screw it up was DV AVI.  But it comes to SD resolution is not good for me. It was just a test.  Does anyone have ideas, which may have caused this.

  • Export a clip of move with alpha channel

    Hello

I'm trying to export a displacement of clips with alpha channel.

I'm trying to export an animation with first CS5. I made an animation of a spinning object in Maya and exported in the form of TIFFs with alpha channel. Then they are edited with Photoshop to give them a drop shadow.

My problem is the following. Can I export this animation of tiff with alpha channel?

My plane is to use clips from moving in a background in a game - depending on the outcome, there are different animations playing on top of several different backgrounds. It to the objects must have a transparent alpha on the bottom channel.

Again, the reason for this is the complexity of the game and make the game looking as real as possible. I hope help here to make my plan possible

    .. .thanks

It comes to CS4, but it applies as well to CS5: exporting files video with alpha channels

This reference is mysteriously absent from the CS5 help, but follow these steps and you can export a movie of alpha channel.

  • ProRes 444 is only way to export (share) titles with alpha channel?

  • Titles of lower thirds on transparent background in After Effects will not export with Alpha channel

I created titles of lower thirds in After Effects CS6 on an iMac Yosemite 10.10.5 running with a transparent background.  I want to make this file to be used as overlay on a video editing with Final Cut Pro.  I chose RGB + Alpha in the rendering stack, but it does not work to preserve transparency, and titles are degraded as well.  Is there a solution for this?  I also tried the CS6 Adobe Media Encoder, with no better luck.  Please notify.

Use your ProRes 4444 codecs.  PNG, or Animation.  No other file QT supports alpha channels.

  • keep an a 1 bit image alpha channel

    Greetings!

I do a lot of pre-press and the restoration work for printing, mostly working with equipment that requires released as a 1 bit image - very fine line work and mechanical tones that will break or cause the moire if printed with dithering.

For this reason, when you work with commercial printers I've out usually images with superior typical resolutions - 1 bit 2400 ppi files, i.e. the same their imagesetter resolution works.

I have a request current a client that involves, at their request, to place images with transparency in Indesign rather than manipulate raster images in Photoshop and just out of the final 1 bit image and placing in Indesign.

So, I was playing with alpha channels to try to find a solution to this. Is there any image format that will support two channels - one for a piece of mono ppi (1 bit) 2400 line drawings and the other for an alpha channel that will be used to hit transparent sections in Indesign after the fact? Is this possible?

I COULD simply threshold - adjust my image to make pseudo-1-bit and then place the file in Indesign. But it's a big waste of space (the file resulting in dozens of times larger) AND it makes it more likely that someone will accidentally mixed the image during the RIP to print, thus defeating the objective of providing a high resolution 1-bit image in the first place.

Please, please, anyone out there have any advice for me?

    Best,

    Sean

    Well, the next day-

I read some more about how little coding works on different file formats. There is no place for the information/alpha channel for transparency on image 1 bit because, well, there is only a single bit, i.e. two States - on (ink) or disable (paper). If the shutdown state is managed like a white by Indesign, or the stop State is managed as paper and is presented in a transparent manner.

So what I really need, is a 2-bit image format. A PNG. While there are four States - on (ink), (off-white) and another way for transparency.

So I have 'threshold' converted by alpha channel and my channel of the image, then to export--> save for Web (inheritance) and selected 4 color PNG. Voila! Perfect bitmap 1-bit with transparency.

Now, if he is a pretty good solution for my printer and their Raster image processor, we get to see!
