  Hello world

  Is it possible to create a custom control that serves as both a control and indicator?  What I want is a slider vertical I can put a value with the help of the thumb or digital input, but I also want a horizontal line which would be about when the filling is (of which the value may come from feedback in my system).  In my case, I want to set the voltage and see the actual voltage measured on the same cursor.  Is this possible?

• Get Photos 'from files and folders"does not work beyond the letter 'G '.

  I have PSE - 7 is installed in Windows 7 64 bit. The program seems to work fine except for this:

  I have a very important folder; (141 GB, 2 500 files, 207 000 files) The command 'Get Photos from files and folders' stops working in the middle of the letter 'G'...!

  I have the same folder in a machine running Win XP, and both PSE 5 and 7 PES do not exhibit this behavior. Can I import from any letter of the alphabet...! (LOL)

  The catalog associated with this installation file has been optimized and recovered.

  This folder is located on the "G: /" drive (volume).

  HARD drive "G /: ' has been fully formatted (not a quick format).

  The only exception may be the way things should have been done, is that the catalogue was opened under the drive letter and the serial number of the drive.

  Using the drive letter, this catalog open immediately. Any ideas...?

  I learned that from the PSE 6, PSE uses the serial number of the HARD disk and not the letter of the reader to access the content. However, a catalog will still open and register correctly, using only the letter of the drive from it's previous machine. (Note that this is the same behavior as earlier versions of PSE, such as PSE-5, which depended only on the drive letter).

  --> When we say that the ESP is not dependent on the drive letter to access its content, it doesn't mean that the PSE will display the serial number of the HARD disk in the application. In this case, you have changed the drive letter from E to F, PSE media will not suffer.

  I'm usually import a whole folder. Until the letter 'G', PSE - 7 works as expected. The photos appear in the organizer and are accessible in all directions. After the letter 'G', it is impossible to select any folder inside the dialog box «Get the folders of files and folders» When the element is highlighted, the letters blink and change for other mailings, then selection resets nothing selected. After 'G', I have to use the, command "Get pictures by the research. This works as expected. Once the pictures are inside the Organizer, everything is as it should be.

  --> This is a known issue. Simply select "All Files" in the "File Type" drop-down list present in the import dialog box. After that, it will work very well.

  Just to sum up PSE6 or PSE7 are not supported under Win7 so you could face some issues.

• VI server: Get references from the project which has a VI

  OK, here's a question for someone who knows the intricacies of the VI server:

  Is there a relatively easy way to get the reference of the project which has a VI?  (I don't know how that would play if there are multiple instances in different contexts, but maybe I'm overthinking it.)

  I see that there is a property "Own App" for the screws, which means that I could probably get to open projects from that and across these hierarchies of project.  That seems like a lot of effort, however.

  @Ben: you are right, a VI, you get the reference of the call library, in the library, you can get the mention of 'a project', which is a "temporary project X" where X is an increment. But how to get the real owner of project?

  If the project is in memory, you can use the property to "Own the Application" of the VI then the 'Project.Active of the project"which is a private property.

  The only way you can get a virus from Facebook is by clicking on a bad link. Be always careful with links on which you click, especially of foreigners who are not your friend on Facebook. If you find a link TinyURL (not a bit.ly link), copy (click the link, press Ctrl + C) then paste (click on the address bar, then press Ctrl + V), but add "Preview". (without the quotes, including the period) before the rest of the link. Then, you can see a preview of where you're going. After that, you can continue or go back.

  I would like to build a property for an XControl in order to get the references to the controls in the front panel, something like ownership of the cluster "control []".

  I tried to get the references of the façade and pass them to the main VI through view state and a property to read the values, but when I pass the notes obtained in this way to a property node I get an error 1055 saying that the object reference is not valid.

  Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your problem,

  but I suggest you put a minimum version of your problem in the code

  and the link here, that might help ppl troubleshooting

  (in which case it is not something obvious why this will not work)

  the only thing I can suggest on the top of my head,

  is to make sure that you have the 'change data' or 'changed state' set 'correctly '.

  If the information is properly stored, to be accessed by the xcontrol property

  but maybe that's not it.

• Cannot select a record in the Get pictures from dialog files and folders in PSE/Win7/64 bit

  has anyone seen this problem and I hope a solution...

  I test just PSE 7 on Win 7 64 bit.

  When I try to import photos in the Organizer, using Get Photos from files and folders, I propose in my pictures folder (which has subfolders 324 - one for each session).  When I (single) click on one of the files (except the first), the dialog box flickers, scroll bar on the right is growing and the subfolder does not get selected. When I scroll down, I see that some recent subfolders are missing from the dialog box. When I repeat this procedure a couple of times, all that remains in the dialog box is the first subfolder, you can still select OK. It seems to be related the number of subfolders, as other records do not show this behavior.

  I tried to install the latest graphics driver, I tried with PSE 8 trial, changed the looks of the folder to all possible options (thumb small, big, detail, etc.), changed the program for Windows XP SP2 compatibility, no change...

  This same machine worked on the same exact file OK with Win XP and 7 PES.

  Advice would be useful...

• best way to control a large number of controls and indicators

  IM building a façade with 46 orders and lights, all of type boolean.

  the logic is control > send order series > receive > indicator set. I consider part of my façade (with 2 sets of control and indicator) and my block diagram.

  I have to be able to control programmatically and through the front panel individually the status and indicators, or all at once (for example to reset the both). This should be done from the tab they are and another.

  thought property nodes but still I would have 46 + 46 of them. same for local variables.

  y at - there I way to refer to a control/indicator by its label (string) and change its value?

  wouldn't be easier just to create two Boolean tables which maintain their Boolean value?

  Please advise me on what options I have. I'm new to labview.

  Explanation: my trigger table is PSE_BKB. NUM_PHANTOM_BP.
  
  On the pse_bkb.num_objekt_verb of the table, I have a relationship 1: n to one or several object-key (field named obj_key!) on my referenced key: old.phantom_key. With this obj_key, I want to watch the weather, I have one or more lines in the table type num_objekt "NUM". So the internal selection gives me all the num_objekt_verb obj_key with my: old.phantom_key and with whom I count the number of lines I have on num_objekt with type "NUM".
  
  The problem is that the trigger does not see the table.
  
  I tried many variations.
  
  The latest version I tried was with a cursor inside the trigger definition as in the block of code below.
  
  For debugging purposes, I inserted a RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR in the inner loop - see below. The v_obj_key variable is never defined, as in all the other variations, I tried-, I still see the predefined "gugus" in the declare section.
  
  It seems that oracle can not read other tables at this point. La: old.phantom_key is defined (in this simple example there would come a return obj_key).

  The reason why you get count_n = 0 in tr_c is that there is no line in B with key_c = 17, to the moment you arrive at tr_c. The removal of B has already occurred, and since you're in a single transaction, the application for tr_c:

  Thus b_tr_vw trigger is triggered first and deletes a B. trigger fires tr_b as part of this statement to remove and check against A, happening apparently so no error is triggered and succeeds the removal of B. Now tr_b_vw takes back control and deletes C. Since the B line which has key_c = 17 already deleted a control for counter_n > 0 and counter_s = 0 fails and raise you the-20002 error. Note that I'm assuming that the error of-20077 you lift is just to see the values and is not intended to be part of your actual code.

  Because I have really no idea what you're trying to accomplish here I can't offer a lot of advice that you might want to try entering two tr_c of the tr_b_vw trigger validation queries before deliver you the removal of b and put the counter_n > 0 and counter_s = 0 control under tr_b_vw to decide whether or not you want to remove.

  I have a lamp that can turn into power according to the value of a Boolean variable.

  There are two ways in which I can control the lamp.

  (1) manual mode in which the button must be used as control to change the value of the Boolean variable.

  2 auto mode) in which the value of the variable is changed programmatically. Push button must return to an indicator to indicate the value of the Boolean variable.

  I should be able to swith bw manual and automatic mode for the duration and the push button should switch to control and indicator respectively.

  For those who might wonder why it's necessary: there is a sign which must be controlled in manual/auto mode. in manual mode, operator will manually use the buttons as controls for updating the control variables, in auto mode, my control algorithm updates the variables, and the Organizer must be able to see which button is pressed and when. If the button should be the control of update of variables in manual mode and must be the indicator of the evolution of the variables in auto mode.

  How is that possible?

  A basic VI with three objects are attached, and the Boolean control variable is global.
