• Don't know where to post this, but I get spammed by VMware forums.

  I answered an ad in VMware workstation forum yesterday, not my first post or reply. Now I get notifications of people posting all sorts of discussions on these forums that I have ever visited. There is no 'stop send me a notification email' option in the mails.

  Someone has an idea, or know who to report to?

  Maybe the e-mail notifications for the forum of the workstation have been enabled for a reason any. Please visit VMware Workstation to see if ' Stop e-mail notifications "are available in the"Actions"pane

  If this isn't the case and that all notifications are messages to a dedicated user, visit their profile and check there "Stop email notifications".

• OTN Forum FAQ

  I am updating the FAQ of the OTN Forum [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/help.jspa], because there was a lot of wrong things in there (like the link syntax).
  
  Anyone can do this, as it's actually a wiki, but you must sign first and it may take a few days to get your status as "writer" (it did for me anyway).
  
  Don't forget the FAQ is mainly concerned indicating the display syntax etc. and is used by all of the OTN Forums - as such, nothing specific to your favorite special forums would be appropriate.
  
  So, feel free to talk about anything on this thread that you want to change to day including. So far, I've changed the smiley laugh to be correct: ^ 0 (important things of all, of course!), changed the link syntax so that it works and removed some of the formatting options that no longer work. I know there are previous discussions that mention some questions and have some 'debate' on the State of the FAQ, but I thought it would be better to have an independent thread for this.

• APEX Forum get spammed

  Thought I would try to do to the attention of the admins/mods here.

  There is currently an important flow of spam messages in the APEX forum: Oracle Application Express (APEX)

  Earlier today when I checked (hours), there were 20 + pages of these positions.

  Looking at the first page, it seems to be mainly a few users:

  You probably want to post this in the [community feedback forum | http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=29] which is in fact controlled by the people who run OTN.

  If this is a new symptom you see (I saw no more emails displayed), I guess that's the result of the same problem that caused a number of usernames to be handed over to "-" tonight. This happens with some regularity when the user authentication system gets upgraded and usually takes a few days to settle.

• First of all, much too darn hard to actually get to a zone forum or contact actually ask a question. Not everyone using FF is a programmer

  How should a user like me (been using ff for 7 years and more) 4 different pages to actually get one to ask a question? Seriously, IE has a better access to the support forums. Now on my real problem. I have a lot of seize up / crashing related to flash player 11, and even the latest version of flash (and yes I have uninstalled all older versions) read like a stale version. Not there at - there no way to get ff to actually work simultaneous flashing or am I just doomed to run chrome instead? Wouldn't a hardware problem because it is just ff (same IE works better at this point), but Acer Aspire 7741z with W7 (and yes I know it's an archaic system but specs are still up to current).

  Rather a longshot but if you think of the Flash problems can cause this

  • This Flash and RealPlayer all related plugins are kept up-to-date
  • Consider trying with plugins Realplayer, disabled or uninstalled temporarily, as they have previously been known to interfere with Flash Player
  • Try the Flashplayer with Adobe disabled protected mode http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Flash_Player_11.3_Protected_Mode_-_Windows

  I get hundreds of emails from spam with the subject, «dozens dead after migrant boat...» "Why this is happening? And what I can do about it?

  Spam is spam.  You can block the sender, subject, etc.

  You can also create a rule where if the object contains the word dead migrant, or boat > and then move it to trash or delete it.

  Care to be more specific?

  I'm trying to change the contour of the ASO, but it is error and gives as follows. I checked the files on the disk and realized that OTN did as well as the OTL file. I deleted the OTN file and tried to do the load, but somehow the file OTL is not get replaced by the OTN file. I tried adding members manually but failed there, too.   It's a big complaint by many customers that the compact feature does not work and you need to re-create the outline or by using the esscmdq to separate esscmd tool.
  I agree that this kind of functionality should certainly be available by default through maxl and eas now.

• Compatibility iPhone and OTN forum

  My problem is that the messages in the forum that contain sections of code with a horizontal bar are simply cut, without a scroll bar on an iPhone. Look at a horizontal or vertical doesn't make a difference.

  Use two fingers to scroll left/right inside the code block.

• I am getting Spam links in a chat site

  In a site Web that I belong to who has functions of cat... Sometimes, I noticed that a random word or name of the poster is sometimes highlighted in dark blue. When my cursor passes over that Word/name, I have a Spam popup... or sometimes a direct link to a few emails. I called the administrator of the Web site and no one else knows this problem. I tried to open the site in Chrome and Internet Explorer and I couldn't reproduce the problem... it seems to only happen in Firefox.
