  I've had my Dell Inspiron 560 with Windows 7 for about 4 months now and a few days ago I was turn my computer as always and as I do the light is solid blue and I can hear the fans start to move, but my screen is black. I know that the problem is not my screen because I unplugged and plugged back in as "Dell" screen and then the screen would go to power saving mode. I unplugged and plugged all the cables and I will always have this problem. I've also pressed the power button and I it would hold for about 3 seconds until I hear it turn off with a beep.   I need to replace the hard drive in my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop. The current I is Seagate 2.5 ", 160 GB 5400 RPM and. The space must be 500 GB or less. I prefer Seagate Momentus Thin ST500LT012 500 GB at 5400 RPM. This would be compatible with my laptop. Otherwise, what are you kindly suggest another replacement for this drive.

  Any 2.5 "SATA drive will work - if you go with a 7 mm disc ("thin") you might have a spacer for mounting the drive, because the system is designed to take the road of 9.5 mm and the thinner one is unable to make contact with the motherboard without spacer.

  I'd go with WD or HGST drives - Seagate had problems of reliability of the end.
