  • Display data DateTime Fields in the local time zone

    I have a table defined as follows:

    create table TimeTest
    (
    DATETIME TIMESTAMP (0) WITH TIME ZONE
    )

    I insert two lines where the time zone changes to a date given in the spring:
    insert into timetest values (datetime) (to_timestamp_tz (' 08/Mar/2009:01:59:55-0500 ',' DD/my/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM ""));
    insert into timetest values (datetime) (to_timestamp_tz (' 08/Mar/2009:03:00:00-0400 ',' DD/my/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM ""));

    How can I select the datetime field in the time zone of my choice? If my session time zone is - 0400, should not 01:59:55-0500 displayed as time 02:59:55?

    The session time zone is:
    Select double sessiontimezone;
    -04:00

    So why do I get this:
    Select to_char (datetime, ' DD/my/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM "") of timetest;
    08/Mar / 2009:01:59:55-0500
    08/Mar / 2009:03:00:00-0400

    08/Mar / 2009:02:59:55-0400
    08/Mar / 2009:03:00:00-0400

    It is stored as a timestamp with time zone, so you must cast in the local time zone for your database:

    Connected to Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0
    Connected as fsitja

    SQL>
    SQL> create table TimeTest (DATETIME TIMESTAMP(0) WITH TIME ZONE);

    Table created
    SQL> insert into timetest(datetime) values (to_timestamp_tz('08/Mar/2009:01:59:55 -0500', 'DD/Mon/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM'));

    1 row inserted
    SQL> insert into timetest(datetime) values (to_timestamp_tz('08/Mar/2009:03:00:00 -0400', 'DD/Mon/YYYY:HH24:MI:SS TZHTZM'));

    1 row inserted
    SQL> commit;

    Commit complete
    SQL> select datetime, cast(datetime as timestamp(0) with local time zone) from timetest;

  • Issue of globalization - Set time zone

    Hello

    Depending on the condition, I put globalization attribute value from the Local time zone to Yes. But now, every time a user connects it gets 'Set Time Zone' on the screen. When he clicks on it. the time zone is set to 0.00.

    If the user does not click, the local time zone browser is correctly retrieved.

    Question: Can I hide this hyperlink that comes after the connection?

    Thank you

    You must to_char date. For example, in a SELECT statement, I use:

    my_date to_char (FROM_TZ (CAST (date_column AS TIMESTAMP), "America/New_York") to the LOCAL, ' Dy month ddth aaaa hh24:mi:ss ")

    New York being the database time zone I tested it on. A list of other time zones that you can use, depending on where your database, can be found here:

  • Time zones GMT vs UT time zones

    Someone knows how to install GMT time zones on my Windows 7 operating system?  I need them to connect to work using Windows Server 2003.

    Honestly, the words do not seem to work the way that you have arranged them.

    GMT is a term describing the local time at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London.  GMT is essentially the same as UT / UTC.  See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMT

    None of this helps us to understand what you are trying to "install".  All Windows systems (NT and later versions) work on the hour UTC backstage.  You set the time zone when you install Windows, and it can be changed to clicking on the clock on the taskbar and choosing to set date/time.

    Can you please be more specific on what you are trying to accomplish, and you can't do?  Is it possible that someone (for example, your personal COMPUTER) you said something absurd to get you to go out and wasting time?

    Hello

    It worked for me,

    1. go to the directory where you ran the script config.bat.

    2. use a text editor open the file config.bat.

    3. locate this line in the file: SET CONFIG_JVM_ARGS = % CONFIG_JVM_ARGS %-DCOMMON_COMPONENTS_HOME = % COMMON_COMPONENTS_HOME %

    4 Add this string to the end - Duser.timezone = "+ 02:00" and run the script to Setup again. "

    5. always confirm that the time zone the oracle db is properly defined.

    SQL > select sessiontimezone double;

    SESSIONTIMEZONE
    ----------------------------------------------
    + 02:00

    Hope that helps - it worked for me.
