Go back to the older version of Acrobat Reader
Adobe Acrobat Reader on my Mac just updated to a version of "DC", uninstall my old version in the process. (Don't give me a choice.) You want to uninstall it again and reinstall the old. How can I do this?
Hi susied76391183,
You can directly delete the application from the Applications folder, which is just trash/Applications/Adobe Reader.app. Also, this can cause a break in the features of Safari to read PDF files using Adobe Reader plugin. To resolve this problem, go into/Library/Internet Plug - Ins / and remove AdobePDFViewer.plugin and AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
Then install the old version of this link: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
Kind regards

How can I go back to the previous version of Adobe Reader?
How can I go back to the previous version of Adobe Reader? The DC version was not as well thought he could have. How I use Adobe Reader seems to me having to press 3 or 4 buttons for every 1 that I had to press on in the previous version. This 'New and improved' is 'New', but not necessarily "improved version". So please, how to get back the previous version?
Hello
You need to uninstall the version installed on your system and then you can download the previous version of the player.
If you are on windows, you can download the cleanup tool to uninstall the player.

Once removed, follow this link to download a previous version of the player.

I installed the latest version of Adobe Reader DC on my laptop Windows 8, but I can't always open the file from the link below. I asked my colleagues to try on other machines at work and at home, and in almost all cases, the link opens. Are there settings that I can change to fix this?

The link is located on the following Web page, it's the link at the top ('related technical incident form') the area of downloads (top RIGHT).

Thank you
Google Chrome uses its own PDF Viewer. If you want or need to use the Adobe Reader plugin, you will need to use another browser.

Acrobat that Pro DC not install because of the older version of Acrobat
I uninstalled Acrobat X pro, but to no avail. I have Lightroom and Photoshop CC (2015) installed with edition master CS6 (indesign, illustrator, and Dreamweaver). I have no intention of updating these programs that I use almost never, but acrobat and the CC apps see daily use. I troed to clean facilities acrobat with acrobat cleanuptool for versions 9 and 10. I am now at a loss to know what to do.
I managed to fix the prolblem now based. What I did:
(1) uninstall all versions of acrobat and run the cleanuptool
(2) uninstalled CC and run the cleanuptool
(3) restart of
(4) CC installed
(5) the rest went automatically from there

Problem started out of the blue a few days ago. When I go to a page with a PDF file, it says "Plugin is vulnerable..." Click here to start anyway"(paraphrase). When I look in Add-ins, it has the following line about the software Acrobat Reader ' adobe acrobat is known to be vulnerable and needs to be updated to 10.1.4.38» This is the latest version available.
I tried to update, remove from my computer, reinstalling, etc several times. No improvement - I still get the same message.
I have no idea whence 10.1.4.38. But let me put that aside for the moment.
There are actually two ways to upgrade for you.
- Adobe Reader 10.1.6
- Adobe Reader 11.0.2
The easiest way would be, inside Adobe Reader X, use help > check updates get 10.1.6. Does it work?

Tried not to revert to the older version of adobe reader, no serial number?
I've recently updated adobe reader without thinking. Don't keep the old version. Hate the new version, trying to go back, but it wants a serial number that I don't have. Adobe has create me an account (I have not one) where all my serial numbers would be stored, well since I didn't have an account, no serial number is stored. Clearly I had adobe reader software on my computer to update. I want just the old version back.
Adobe Reader requires no serial numbers

How can manual uninstall older versions of Acrobat Reader?
I recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. After meeting with sound problems, that Microsoft support has failed to solve, I returned to Windows 7. Unfortunately, Acrobat Reader with automatically deleted in the process. I am now having trouble to reinstall Acrobat Reader. The installer downloads, but the installation stops and it is an error message reading: "the component you are trying to use is on a network unavailable resource." Click OK to try again or enter another path to the folder containing the installation package "ArcoRead.msi" in the box below.
I think what I have to do is to make sure that all versions previous and their components have been removed. How to do this manually? Also Windows uninstaller fails to remove previous, perhaps damaged or incomplete versions.
Hi erictico,
Try uninstalling the drive using this tool to clean up Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat tool - Adobe Labs.
Restart your system & reinstall it using this link Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution.
