  I use InDesign CS6 to create a document with many links to URLS. I found that the conversion of INDD as PDF (Export to PDF) process is changing some special characters in the link, basically to break hyperlinks in the PDF file (for example, a symbol equation "=" AND the question mark symbol "?") BOTH converted to their html codes of character - 3D and % 3F, respectively - and the links are broken, "404 error".

  Just in case someone had the same problem, I've found a workaround.

  Using the links Panel, click on each link and manually change all characters who have converted characters html codes.

  Sometimes hyperlinks that add to a page are added as with my url inserted. for example if I want to add the hyperlink www.adobe.com sometimes it will go out like this www.me.com/www.adobe.com. I don't understand what happens and have tried to rewrite the hypertext links several times but cannot get rid of the problem.

• Open file or URL button does not.

  I use VMWare on a Mac Windows XP with Captivate 4.

  I'm trying to basically put a link at the end of my e-learning for them to jump to a URL.  I opted for a dell XP.  I created a new project and attempted to recreate just the last slide, I created another new project and tried to just open URL button but none of it works!

  You can try to create different buttons on the positions of the page where the scroll will be active with separate button actions. For example, you click on "I am heading down", page scrolls and there is another button set with "Next topic down", click on, it would scroll the page plus and the same on the length of the page.

  Button with anchor link scroll to the bottom of the page can not be used for different anchor links, creation of different buttons with anchors is the solution.

  Whenever I have to copy and paste from the web or Word it removes hyperlinks.  And when I try to do in 'Place' ing a Word document in my InDesign project that it retains formatting with it, the rectangles around the text.

  I have the latest version of InDesign.

  Copy-paste might not include the shaped. A regular import using square is the best way.

  The rectangles around the hyperlinks are just to indicate that they are links - they do not print, but they appear in your PDF.

  You can delete them by double clicking on the hyperlink in the hyperlinks Panel and select "Rectangle Invisible" as the type.

  In general, Word formatting of hyperlinks - blue text, underline - with a character Style. If you want to remove or change the formatting, all you have to do is to change the character style. My experience, however, is that you need to check all the hyperlinks because no reason apparent, sometimes they appear in the document without the character style.
