Make sure your hard disk is not full, and then restart the installation"

I tried to install 5 - 6 times, clean the disc by checking I have space and everything and is still blocked on the same bit of data. the last time I supported on ignore and everything installed fine, but now my game missing a lot of graphics so I can't use certain civilizations or I find myself just without the building or unit, I built.

    Hi Sean Goul,.

You can check the link and see if you can download the game:

  • Age of Empires II - "can't initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw.

    Hello

I have a problem of Age of Empires 2 running on my new computer. Keeps displaying the following error message: "cannot initialize the graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw. "Someone at - it solutions to this? I have already visited many forums and trying different solutions; None of them helped.

Tried solutions: change the compatibility and as an administrator, switching to 16-bit color, turn off my graphics card, execution of the extension "nostartup" of the game, looking for old patches from Microsoft (which most are now unavailable due to the game being so old). I KNOW that others have been able to get this game to work on the Windows 7 operating system, but with a few other quirks and I KNOW my video card and driver are more than capable of handling this game. Any suggestions?

I had the above problem with AOEII:Age of the Kings. My brief spec is Windows 7 Ultimate edition (SP1) and a card nVidia 8600 GT. I did the following (make sure you reboot after each installation):

Make sure that you are running the latest patch of AOEII:AOK (2. 0 a):

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=35

Download and install the latest version of DirectX:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=5264

Download and install the latest nVidia Driver suite. I left the autodetect my card software and reset all my default settings. I also installed the full software suite:

    http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Finally, right click on the shortcut of AOE and click Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and select the following:

-Run this program in compatibility mode - choose Windows XP Service Pack 2 (!) NOT 3!)
    -Disable visual themes
-Disable the Composition of the Bureau
-Run this program as an administrator

One of the above options maybe work on its own, but that's what I had to do to make it work and I tested it after each step.

    Good luck!

  • Graphics problems during the game Age of Empire II in mode full screen in Windows 7

Original title: screen resolution and/or graphics problem with Windows 7.

Hi, I had currently two computers in my house upgraded to windows 7, one a Vista XP.

I am trying to run Age Of Empires 2 on both computers, the game has installed and running with ease, however it won't let you play the game in full screen, and also the color of things like grass and trees appear in red and orange, water displays brilliant purple.

I tried to change the windows screen resolution and the resolution of the options in the game, but it only changes in the percentage of the screen resolution, that he chooses to play in.

I can solve this? All advice is appreciated and thanks in advance.

PS I tried to reinstall and update graphic drivers, both computers have the same problem of new clean installations of windows and Age of Empires 2.

    Thank you

It is a problem due to the fact that AOE 2 was built on the platform Windows 95/98 Win9x. It will expose a few graphical artifacts while playing. You can try setting compatibility Win98 or Win95 check. There is also a workaround that may work in my opinion. You will need to search for "how to run StarCraft (1) on Windows 7" in Bing (Alternatively, Google: P) and it would show a site with a .bat file that could solve the problem of graphics in fullscreen.

    I hope this helps.

What I did with StarCraft was this:

On the desktop, right-click and select new text Document. Inside the Document, type this

    Taskkill /f /IM explorer.exe
    D:\"StarCraft"\"StarCraft.exe".
    Start explorer.exe

Just replace the location of StarCraft with the location of the AOE II.

Save the file as: 'AOEII.bat' and then set the file type to the text file to all files.

What happens is that if corrects the discoloration and restart the explorer again after the end of the game. Although there is no easy way to change the icon of the good bat file: P

  • Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings does not work on Windows 7. The error is: could not initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw.

I can't get my Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings drive on my computer.

It gives me the error message: could not initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw.

What exactly is DirectDraw. and how can I make my video card and the driver compatible to it. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall the drive.

    Help, please!

What kind of graphics card you have and you have the latest DirectX and video card drivers? If this isn't the case, update them.

  • Age of Empires blurred graphics

I have the original disc for AoE I in good condition and it installs and runs without a problem, but the graphics are all blurred and distorted. The playing surface is also a really small box in the middle of a big black screen. I never had NO problem running the game because it came out and I played on Win 95, Win 98 and XP machines.

    My current PC is:

    Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40 GHz @3.8 GHz overclocked

    8GB Corsair Vengeance PC3 2133 MHz DDR3 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7970 3072 MB
    Dell U2410 24 "1920 x 1200 widescreen flat panel
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I really like this game. Explorer disabling is not good, and no compatibility help modes at all. It's all simply unplayable, which is a real shame.

How the graphic problems and allow a higher resolution for the game?

    Thank you very much.

    I fixed it!

It's SO simple, I am completely ashamed of myself, although I do not understand why this seems to have been posted ANYWHERE on the entire internet!

The problem was that my graphics card has been configured for the quality settings higher in order to play 3D games world opened as Skyrim.

    Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40 GHz @3.8 GHz overclocked

AMD Radeon HD 7970 3072 MB
    Dell U2410 24 "1920 x 1200 widescreen flat panel
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

All I had to do was go in catalyst and save all my usual settings in a predefined profile called NORMAL.

Reduce ALL the parameters of anisotropic filtering, Anti-Aliasing and ALL other settings for the LESS POSSIBLE then use application settings if necessary, apply these settings and then save them to a predefined profile called "Age of Empires".

So now I can click on my profile predefined for AoE, it changes the settings of the card, start the game and it plays perfectly.

Then I can change whenever I like it in my NORMAL preset.

    QED.

  • Age of Empire 2 graphics are distorted

The game moved well on my machine, but the start screen looks like static on an old television set. He is all black, white and grey and blotchy everywhere. When I go over some areas with the mouse, they light up.

For me, this is a set of work perfectly with something screwed up in the charts.
    Can someone help me?
I looked for people with similar problems and I can't find it listed.

  • Age of Empire II cannot install on Vista?

I am trying to install it on my computer, which is a Vista, and while it loads, a popup tells me that is not working.

I can not quite copy because my game is in French, but he says it's a file write error (?). He has written too location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empire II\AVI\AGE2. AVI, then he said to check my disk space hard or if the file is not currently in use (I'm doing my best to translate, I do not know all the computer talk in English)

I can ignore it, but he's finally coming back without him, and then I'm screwed.

I tried to run it as administrator, installation and basic, but nothing seems to work. All the solutions for that?

EDIT: If I ignore it, the inevitable message is a message on DATA\graphics.drs
I checked the location of the two files, but I don't see anything weird, maybe it's the last file is only 0 k...?

Hello Whackbag.  Looks like it could be a damaged drive.  Especially if its happening right on a file.  Try to copy the contents of the disc on the desktop and run the installer from there instead. Your graphics driver is perhaps too old to run Age of Empires III. If you want to update your drivers, contact the manufacturer of your computer for any assistance needed.

System information: 2400 MHz, 512 MB, 64 MB GeForce FX Go5600 (10de vendorID, deviceID 31A)

Can not I play this game?
Or should I just renew a driver?
    What about producer?

    Hi mohamed

Well, you should has a P4 2.5 GHz processor with 1024 MB of RAM to play this game, but if you want optimal performance of the game, you must use a 3 GHz 1024 MB Ram PC with the graphics card performance.
Also, check if you have installed the latest DirectX tools with the latest graphics driver. In addition it s advisable to check for some patches for this game.

  • Age of Empire III slow on Satellite A100 - 02L PSAAQE

    Hi guys

IM new here so forgive me if its been asked, Age of Empires 3 says that my memory card has only 32 MB on graphics.
But the record shows her lying 128 MB model is a PSAAQE-00P00KAV.

can someone let me know how to increase usage?

    see you soon

    Hello

Your laptop supports Mobile Intel Express Chipset graphics card 945GM.

This graphics card is not designed for a game!
It s a shared memory graphics card and if it s needed, it takes the memory of main memory.

Graphics memory depends on the value of the main memory.
A higher value of main memory would allow greater value of graphics card memory.

But as I said above it s not a graphics of game and you shouldn't t wonder on game performance.

  • Satellite A200 start Age of Empires

    Hello world

My daughter has a Sat A200 1.8 GHz 3052 available RAM, installed Direct X 10, more older version 9 to run older games. Under Vista Home Premium with an ATI Radeon Graphics Processor 0 chip x 9581 (Mobility Radeon HD) 2600.

I get an error at the launch of Age of Empires II and I have the chart cannot initialize and check the compatibility of card and the video driver with Direct Draw.

I did, Direct sampling is enabled, the ATI driver has been updated, windows also updates and the game still gives me the same message.

Do you have a registry clean after using the game of the demo, which also did not work.

I got this game on two other laptops, a new Compaq and a 12 months, as well as old Acer laptop on my fully equipped acer desktop computer to vista. The only problem I have is with the Compaq laptop screen resolution should be set back to normal after the games, but it works very well. I don't know why the Toshiba Satellite is to give so much trouble.

    Can someone enlighten me? Please...

    Hello

    > the ATI driver has been updated
And what ATI drivers you have installed exactly? Since the site of Toshiba or other drivers?

AFAIK for Age of Empires II are some fixes available. Have you installed them? As far as I know you can download on the Microsoft Web site.

You can also try starting the game in compatibility mode. That's why I choose Windows XP.

  • Satellite P100: View the problem of driver on installation of Age of Empires

    Hello

I would like to know if there is a solution to the following problem:
a / inability to implement "Age of Empire": during installation, the system displays the following message:
Failed to initialize your videocard check if your driver is compatible with direct sampling.

b / inability to put in place the latest version of the driver downloaded from NVIDIA (91.28_forceware_winxp2k_international.exe) site

    Hello

I would also try to first install the latest version of the directX application. I think the latest version is 9 c.
In addition, I would like to say a few words on the graphics drivers. The fact is that driver graphic Toshiba are not similar with the original graphics drivers from the card making. The graphics driver Toshiba supports protection against overheating, because the laptop card has no clean cooling module. The pilot controls the performance of the graphics card and decreases performance and speed if the temperature rises to a higher level.
In this case, it s advisable to use only the drivers of Toshiba, because other drivers can damage the card.

  • Satellite Pro P200: Cannot play Age of Empires, because DirectDraw

    I just replaced my old laptop (a ps210e) with a 15th Satellite Pro P200.

I can't my old age of Empires II game to run--the error message is "cannot initialize the graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw. »

Google told me that there is utility to run to test this called dxdiag and I ran it and it says allowed to DirectDraw acceleration (as well as many other things).

So, what should I do to get the Age of Empires to run?

Moreover, is this an official forum of Toshiba to get technical support, or simply a community of user group? I couldn't find anything on the Web of Toshiba UK site actually contact the Toshiba direct technical support.

    Thank you

Stand by. Have you Vista preinstalled Satellite Pro P200? Did you check the minimum system requirements for Age of Empires?

  • Resolution problem with Age of Empires on Windows 7.

I can't get Age of Empires to work in a resolution of 1280 x 800; It plays only at 640 x 480. I tried all the different compatibility options, and none of them worked. This game worked on Windows Vista, but since I have upgraded to Windows 7. How to get the game to run at least in a higher resolution?

    MS Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2310 @ 1.4 GHz, 2.0 GB RAM, Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family
    Thank you

Well, I looked, and I have to do an update of the driver from the manufacturer's Web site. But HP has no updates for my type of computer running windows 7. Does this mean I'm stuck with the resolution 1024 x 768?

Lonnie7 you have... once more... for a game, you can choose only these resolution which are supported by a game. 1280 x 800 is NOT supported by AoE.

You remove the black bars, your image is adjusted to fill all the screen and that's all you can do.

If my graphic card support I say 1900 x 1200 can I run AoE with this resolution? NO! I can only choose these resolution which are supported by a game.
