Good methods for 508 compliance Director 11.0 or 11.5?

Hello

We have a lot of great material to the point in 2004 and Director 11.0 that now needs to be converted to meet access 508 (impaired) standards. Are there good places to start to think about it? Some wanted us to just convert it to HTML5, but it would be a nightmare for us. A large part of it already has audio files in English and Spanish. Unfortunately, that does take into account things like "the ability to paw through a document" or "each graph must have a description in words." Any thoughts?

Thank you

    What version of Captivate do you recommend for 508 compliance?

    Be aware that although Captivate CAN produce 508 compliant content, this means generally that you must seriously limit what you can do.

    In many cases, the designers of course are the best option is to create a second version of the same content as a consistent DOCUMENT 508 in MS Word or Acrobat and provide a text alternative.  It is still allowed in the 508 rules, but then allows you more freedom in what you can deliver with the multimedia version of the same content.  It is also usually ends up being a lot faster to produce.

    However, not all customers seem to understand the needs of users with disabilities and enabled will often come into conflict, and you may find yourself in the position where they insist that you not to produce a version of race and he MUST be 100% 508 compliant (which is practically impossible for a complete course of multimedia).  If that happens... you can be in for a rough ride.

  • The use of certificates as the authentication method for AnyConnect VPN

    I'm trying to add certificates as authentication method for one of my AnyConnect connection profiles, that is, by using the option 'Corresponding certificate' available in the profile of the Client AnyConnect. My question concerns the "Distinguished Name Entry" options available. I know what some of them refer to the (for example, "TRANSMITTER-CN" is just like that), but some of them I don't know ("GENQ", "EA", etc.). Is there a reference somewhere that I can use to understand what each of these options to average? Here a sreenshot of the window in question. Thank you!

  • Need advice on section 508 compliance (it is a 'when' question - not a 'how to')

    Hi, I did a lot of research on Section 508 compliance and I'm quite clear on how it is handled in Captivate.  I'm not sure when it should be implemented.

    I have a demo of automatic software that I work, which is basically, autorun.  The user sits down, watches and listens.  There are a few times when there is a user intervention (to click on something to go into another article or something), and I'm totally implement accessibility for items.  What I don't understand not is, do I have to add accessibility to all the other objects that appear on the stage during the automatic execution of the demo part?  For example, if a person with a visual impairment have listened to my demo (the demo all is told) would they really want their screen reader excluding items on screen at the same time?

    Anyone who could shed light on the types of accessibility features that should be enabled during narration, auto-run demos would be greatly appreciated! (Closed captioning side)

    Thank you!

    Vicky

    Basically, the only need yo're addressing is for users visually impaired here, correct? The most visually disabled learners will turn off the audio on a presentation because it interferes with the screen reader.

    The easiest way to test if the demo is available, is to listen to narration or read it without Visual cues. If you find there are elements that are not expressed in the narration that are required for the demo, you can create an equivalent accessible text that describes what is happening on the screen in addition to narration, insert it in the notes slide for your project and create guidelines that highlight this option for learners.

  • Correct method for textfield wordsearch

    I want to write a javascript script to search a textfield for a given value of say "104 b-XX-XXX" s 'X' represents any number between 0 and 9.

    If the textfield object contains this value (e.g. 104 b-38-293), I would like to a global variable value to match this 104 b-38-293.

    I thought a RegExp would be the good method to use for this situation, but I can't understand how to apply the regular expression of the textfield set and get the value (104 b-38-293).

    Could someone please explain how to find the textfield for this value using a regular expression? RegExp now does not seem appropriate because I want to copy the value of the textfield object.

    https://workspaces.Acrobat.com/?d=MQ5XegWGYqwF21Rdv8H1Kg

    Hello

    You can do this with a regexp, using a parenthesis of capture and the exec() method, therefore;

    function fxbsearch (number)

    {

    var r = new RegExp ("(104 B-\\d\\d-\\d\\d\\d)");

    var result = r.exec (number);

    If (result! == null)

    {

    return the result [1];

    }

    Return ' ';

    }

    There are a few other problems with your form, you must use rawValue to designate the content of a text field (no value), you must precede the functions in a script object with the name of script object, so

    BNUMBER.value = fxbsearch.fxbsearch (this.rawValue);

    not

    BNUMBER.value = fxbsearch (this.rawValue);

    And functions is not a semicolon after the name.  You have "Show console on errors and messages", selected in Acorbat under Edit... Preferences... JavaScript.

    Here is my version of your form, https://workspaces.acrobat.com/?d=h7Xtbbf8lgx * 5QOXob4OqQ

  • Improvement of the APEX 508 compliance...

    Would it be possible for the APEX development team to look at the next SMALL bug - fix and improvement for a future version of APEX?

    In the tabular interactive reports, the tag < th > presentation for the column headers should be < scope = "col" th >. The scope attribute is used by a screen reader to specify header cells refer to columns of data below them. In doing so, it would allow the APEX to fall MORE in line with 508 compliance and allow companies that produce APEX applications for government agencies to be more compliant.

    Thank you

    ' I didn't know there are witnesses ', I replied: "now, I'll have to kill you too. '

    Hi Tony,.

    I do not know if you already went through this information, but you may find it useful to refer to the User Guide for more information On the player screen Mode: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/user.40/e15517/advnc.htm#sthref2638 and also Appendix B of the Installation Guide, accessibility in Oracle Application Express: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/install.40/e15513/accessibility.htm#insertedID0.

  • Best method for resizing bitmap images

    I'm looking for a good method resize bitmap images to adapt to the constraints imposed by a container object with the size will change based on the dimensions of the browser window, etc. Basically, it must be able to evolve to adapt.

    I use the following to the resizing of height. «largeImage is a bitmap object.

    ratio = largeImage.height/newheight;
    largeImage.height = newheight;
    largeImage.width = largeImage.width/ratio;

    The problem is, the images look resulting slightly serrated and not really the quality I was hoping.

    Is there a better way to do this in as3?

    Add the following seems to greatly improve the quality:

    largeImage.smoothing = true;

    I'm migrating from Outlook 2010 to Thunderbird. When I import the Thunderbird emails it crashes when it is looking for a temporary directories on the C: partition. Note the C: partition is limited to 30G and PST file is very well 17G and work in Outlook, I installed Thunderbird, its profiles and PST D: files. But for some reason any he wants access to C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Temp\Mapiattach-3.temp, this file exists. I get the error message is "check your"temporary directory"settings and I can't seem to find them?

    Any ideas how to solve this problem, import this file big file PST in Thunderbird.

    I thank in advance

    Oobals.

    Finally, you have to update my emails in Thunderbird today, yes you must at least double the size of the free PST files in the same drive as Outlook and Thunderbird resident to do the import. Waiting a long time if the PST file is very large.

  • Good UPS for two machines

    I have two mac pro which are used as file servers, so use the power minimum and idle most of the time. I would get a UPS that could hold them for 5-10 minutes (time for a script to execute in order to turn off the power). APC seem to have some nice models and I think that the SC620i would be a good choice but cable management appears to be serial. Can anyone recommend a good UPS for me that has a usb connection and a software for a mac to allow me to run a script to stop the machine.

    Thank you

    APC builds good material and wait a couple of years of life on their part before the batteries die, and that becomes the true cost. for other questions, you can start here

  • The AirPort Express Terminal is good enough for me?

    I need a new wireless router to replace my Netgear WNDR4300 'antiques '.  The network is only 2-3 laptops and iPhones 1-2 at a time, over a printer and Chromecast device.  We occasionally video stream, but not often.  Critics say the AirPort Express is best purchased as an add-on to an existing network, but I can't justify more expensive options from the airport.  I don't need the 11ac 802 that offer other options, and it seems that margin would be a problem, because it is limited to 5 GHz.  We have a two-storey house. Is the simple terminal AirPort Express good enough for my home network?

    The AirPort Express, pourraient deliver similar performance to your old Netgear router in terms of signal strength and the beach... but the only way to know with certainty if the Express will be good enough for your needs is to try in your home.

    Try to locate the Express up high on a shelf or Cabinet, if you can, to help in the dissemination of the signal.

    Fortunately, if you buy through Apple, you have one day 14, no questions asked return privilege, so if the Express does not provide the performance you need, you can return the unit for Exchange or a refund.

  • A good mouse for a Macbook Pro?

    Can anyone recommend a good mouse for a Macbook Pro, so fed up with the Magic mouse connectivity issues.

    Microsoft and Logitech do wireless mice that use a small IR dongle. I use one for my office lab because I also have BT connectivity following the intervention of BT problems. The dongle stores neatly in the mouse when not in service, and it is small enough that you could probably keep plugged in all the time on the MBP. Mine is Logitech, it has 4 buttons with wheel acting as a middle-click. It came with software to program additional buttons. Overall, I prefer the Magic Mouse but it's a close.

  • A good software for tracking of swimming for the rings of the activity

    Hello

    I'm a happy user of my watch stainless steel 42. I use it for all my training and I get pretty obsessed by filling out the rings of the activity

    I do not swim a lot and I was wondering if anyone knows a good app on the watch that will add data from swimming to the rings?

    (I know that I can add the data to the application of health on my phone, but it does not count to complete the rings)

    Does anyone of you found a good app for that?

    Best regards

    Peter

    I just use the 'Other' activity to record my swimming activity. It will record the exercise even if I'm not wearing the watch.

  • What is a good replacement for Photos for Mac

    I got my photos sorted by year and month in iPhoto, app Photos The destroyed that.  What is a good replacement for Photos for Mac I had digital pictures in 1999.  It will take me months to recover.  So what is a good replacement, needless organized storage edition, just logical.   Is there a product that I can export Photos to the?   The Photos application is too slow and freezes; It's just all around a mediocre product.

    Migrating from iPHoto to Photos doesn't "destroy" anything - it keeps your albums events and converted into albums - pictures 2.0 vs iPhoto 9.6.1: features and capabilities - how many Photos handles content and metadata for iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support

    and of course iPhotos 9.6.1 still works very well - if you do not keep your system up to date see can't update iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store

    You can export Photos in keeping the Organization of moments - you can export iPhotos keeping the exporting from iPhoto event organization

    As to products - it's your choice - you can use the finder to organize into folders and preview to display pictures - or you can use one of the many programs available ranging from the free to the very expensive

    I use Photos so am not upward on the different options and I suspect most of the volunteers here are the same and the answer is going to be personal anyway - no one but yo can do
