  There is an application named "delete contact" who should do it. Before you delete it please make a backup of your contacts in case something goes wrong. Just precaution. You can export your contacts from your Gmail account. You can do it from the phone also, but I guess that's your Gmail account that you want to save. There must be some contacts which merged.
