  • Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 - multiple windows program or service failures after Windows Update June 17, 2011

I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (I think that SP1 anyway). Last night June 17, 2011, update of Windows installed an update or updates. Now, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, Windows Installer, Windows Sidebar, Panel, Windows Update and other Microsoft programs all fail. I get messages with various error codes. A message is 'class not registered '. I tried a restore to a previous restore point, but apparently the only restore point is the one made after the update. What can I do here? I know that I can always restore the factory image (Dell), but I'd rather not if I can help it.

  • Windows 7 Home Premium hangs on updated 25 June 1, 2010

Hi I have a PC HP PavilonElite HPE-210Y new I bought on Friday, it is installed with Windows 7 Home Premium.    Friday we put in place, made overall upward and downloaded all the updates without problem. On Saturday, we have installed Adobe CS3, DropBox, Microsoft Security Essentials and Microsoft office 2007 (all legitimate copies).      It worked well through this morning, but at about 07:30 the computer says that it had updates installed (29 to be exact). I clicked on ok and went about my business, but it has since been blocked to update 25 for the last 2 hours, but no progress.   Light on the computer that blinks when the HD is committed has not lit at this time and I'm stuck on the screen that tells you not power off or unplug the machine installation 25 of 29...  I had not changed my power management settings, but after some research, it's seems that there are a few known issues with the processor to wake up for mode 'sleep', no chance that this is part of the problem?   other thoughts of what I can do to fix this?    Thank you

    Hi a drum.

First, restart the computer and check if resumes normally and continues.

Otherwise, start your computer in safe mode, and then perform the system restore .

After restoring the system, wait until you get notification of updates of Windows on the system tray, close all applications before accepting the updates of Windows. Check what is happening.

Windows have to restart Windows updates take effect. Check if it still hangs at the 25th update.

    FOR INFO:

  • My computer is silent. I think XP audio drivers are corrupted__If I install Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade it will provide new drivers for sound card?

My computer fell silent months ago after a download. I checked the healthy zone and everything is on and not anywhere in the system. I did a scan of unknown quality and that indicates a problem with the audio drivers. I tried to download new divers from Microsoft.

Rather than spending all the resources on the Windows XP system, I am considering Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade. Upgrades include new audio drivers which will replace or overwrite the existing problem and make it all work as it should again.

You can not spend XP as it's a clean install to get W7 on your PC.  To help transfer data documents, use the transfer on the W7 DVD program.

Before doing that I suggest you download the Advisor to upgrade to W7 from Ms. If your PC passes, then you go to the next step which is download W7 drivers for your video card, sound card, printer, etc. and their storage on a USB for post install W7.

If your PC isn't at the height (lack of drivers for one or more of your cards), then I would stick to XP. There is no guarantee that Vista drivers work in W7.

If you stick to XP, download the drivers for specific sound card XP the PC manufacturer's Web site, they can be more up-to-date than those at Ms.

    See you soon,.

  • my computer at home base down loaded /my computers certificate of authinticity says I am having windows vista Home premium and I have no disc what do I doto fix the problem in windows vista

my computer has windows vista basic on it when I went to athinticate, he told me it was a pirate down load that I looked on the bottom of my lap top and I am supposed to have windows vista Home premium. How can I solve this problem with a disc

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

See if you have a recovery Partition:

There may be a recovery on the drive Partition hard reinstall Vista to how you bought your computer, unless the pirated installation wiped.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
