Google search plugin redirects to https
I am increasingly frustrated with the search plugin Google search results redirecting to https.
I edited the xml file Google so that all instances of https were replaced by http, then deleted the search.json file, but my search results always redirected to https.
I deleted also cookies and temp files but the problem persists.
The reason bugs me so much is that my adblocker cannot filter https.
I don't know if it's a FF issue, or more likely, there Google doing the redirect, but a previous version of FF was fine once I edited the xml file.
For any help or suggestion would be cool.
Thank you.

You have probably chosen a redirect of a Rootkit or Malware Research, what causes this problem.
Install, update and run these programs in this order. They are listed in order of efficiency.
(Not all programs to detect malware, you may need to run them all to solve your problem.)
These programs are provided free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in "free" mode - but these are the features that you really need not to find and eliminate the problem you have.
Note: If your malware infection is bad enough and you're poorly led to URLS other than what is displayed, you may need to use another PC to download these programs and use a USB stick for transfer to the afflicted PC.Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

My problem is two (or three) times; Windows Security arrested Esentials closed and not would again be turned on; Windows Security Center is disabled and will not respond to all the methods of the market; IE 8 sends all Google search clicks to redirect pages and makes the back browser arrow almost impossible to use. E-mail MSN will not accept all attachments - blocks the browser window. I uninstalled Security Essentials and reinstalled nothing doesn't. Have gone to Spybot and Adaware and installed these programs and run them to "clean" the everything unwanteds but re-boots of a Security Center right back. No idea at all what to whether on programs related to the re - search on Google. Uninstalled and installed the final license, two of them I had to Norton 360. This program after hours of in-depth analysis has nothing found was not in the line of virus, worm, or whatnot. Help! It's maddening. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Hi ChazboK,
1. are you able to send attachments to other webmail?
2. What is the size of the attachment that you join?Note: you should never have more than one security program installed on the PC, providing active protection / scan. This can cause performance problems, system instability and may adversely affect the effectiveness of these two products to provide protection.
Scenario 1:
I suggest you to disable any program of security on your computer and check if the browser redirects.
After reviewing the question you must reactivate the security on your computer program.
Note: run the computer without antivirus software or firewall is a potential threat to the computer; Be sure to activate security software after completing the troubleshooting steps and after identifying the problem.
Step 2:
Second, the problem may be caused by an add-on corrupted in Internet Explorer. To confirm the same, run Internet Explorer in safe modules mode, and check if the problem persists.
Open Internet Explorer in mode without modules,
a. click the Start button, click all programs.
b. click on accessories.
c. click System Tools.
d. then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).If disabling all add-ons solves the problem, you can use the add-on Manager to disable all add-ons and then turn on modules only as needed. This will allow you to figure out which add-on is causing the problem.
Remove the damaged module and restart Internet Explorer normally and check if the problem reappears.
After you have used this process to determine which add-on causes errors, you can disable this add-on. Or, you can uninstall the software that installs the add-on. We also recommend that you contact the software vendor that provided the add-on for additional troubleshooting and support.
Step 3:
If the method above does not resolve the problem, then I suggest you to perform an optimization of Internet Explorer on your computer and find the number.
How to optimize Internet Explorer

Warning: him reset Internet Explorer settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you have added to the list of Trusted Sites. Reset the Internet Explorer settings can also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the reset Internet Explorer settingsScenario 2:
If you are able to send attachments to other webmail then, I suggest you to contact MSN support.

When I Google search I redirected to a topic that I don't care
original title: search -.When I search or google a topic, I'm headed to another site that has nothing to do with the sbject I typed in, how can it be addressed? plez help me, thannk you
This looks like a web browser hijacking.
Check your 'C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts' file with a text editor such as Notepad. There should be only one line that does not begin with a character ' # ' and this is the line:
127.0.0.1 localhost
If you have other lines in this file, delete these lines. You can also run a scan for Malware on your computer with a program like Malwarebytesfreeware.

menu of the toolbar has disappeared, no Favorites or anything outside the google search
All my favorites from the toolbar disappeared all of a sudden, just like the menu bookmark and all other menus drop (like "file", "edit", "view", etc.). The only thing at the top is the google search field and the http: address box.
This just happened out of the blue tonight. I lost all my favorites for good? How to restore other drop menus? What should I do?In previous versions of Firefox, there is a status bar at the bottom of the window. Which was removed and replaced by a bar of modules. You can show and hide the view bar Add-ons > toolbars.

Hello
Looks like you may have some malware. Please check your add-ons for all suspicious extensions:
- Tools (or
) > Addons > Extensions
- Alternatively, you can type Subject: addons in your address bar and then click on "Extensions".
Delete all suspicious extensions that you find. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause. A useful way to find the culprit is disabling half of your modules, if it redirects is more then the culprit is in the half you off, otherwise it is the left half you activated.
When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

How to see the real does not treat the google search redirects
During the visit of the rigorous of google search entries, actually visit you a google page that redirects you to the desired address, causing firefox save the google page in the history instead of the real redirection address you visited.
This clutters the story with google links that are not legible if you return to a page in the history.
Is there a way or an add-on than the forces of history to write the addresses of end instead of redirects to google?
Thank you.
Hello, you could try the following extension (it will work only for future research however):

"back" button does not work in https google search
Search Google seems to have made mandatory https once connected. It breaks the history and behavior of the back button to the results page of google search on the results page. I think it's because google, clicking on a result link, redirects to the page of results through an intermediary, obfuscated url, which causes the back button to also redirect to the result page. It's exactly the same problem as described here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/892406?e=es & as = aaq for which there is no solution, that google does not disable https more. BTW, this behavior is not replicted on chrome, i.e., back button works correctly despite the intermediate redirection page.
Hello
You can try the add-on NoScript which may help you.

I type in "gm", and he shows up with my gmail link, but also other sites that I visit that start with "gm", but when I click on the gmail address in the menu drop-down list, nothing happens or it redirects to a google search for gm. It happens only with gmail and twitter so far. No idea how to solve this problem?
One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

Google search using https but seems to return results to undecryped
Since the upgrade to v14, I believe that, whenever I type in a google search in the search bar or the Firefox start page, the results are back as a page of illegible characters (for example an exclamation mark on a background of black triangle). I noticed that the search is using an https address. If I remove the s of the part of https in the URL generated by the address bar Firefox and press ENTER, it comes back as usual. It seems that research is the recovery of the figures, but Firefox is not decipher the results or not properly decipher them and simply display the results.

Web/country drop-down absent from Google-search tools
After update to 35.01 and now 36.0, the Google search results page now behaves differently between Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. The problem is that the 'search tools' used on ALWAYS display the web/countries of choice (drop-down) filter, but now shows only 2 options, in other words any when and the results all filter. Chrome still constantly, shows the four options (web/country, any time, all-results, local-map).
After reading several articles on this subject and likely checking options everything: config, I found that the ONLY way I could get this return to the 'normal' was to replace the "browser.newtab.url" parameter as follows:
Browser.newtab.URL; https://www.Google.com.auNOTE: I have NO problem or blockage to change my home page (it is set to www.google.com.au) and do NOT have malware, or the snap Trovi/SearchProtect/Conduit.
It can still occasionally be missed options, but it is now 90%. It would be good to get a permanent and adequate solution for this. If someone has a better method of rbust more, please let me know. TD
Hi jscher2000, which search engine plugin on the site MYCROFT was very useful thank you. I used Google to THE ones that I was not interested and the Google UK has added to the search list by default, unchecked too (that we are originally from the UK) and sometimes need for research based in the United Kingdom).
This now seems to be more like the original search feature, so thanks a lot for that, and I learned a few more things about cookies too!
I tried to delete all cookies on previous attempts to solve this, but nothing seemed to work until I changed the config and used your suggested change search plugin. It is ordered that the search provider list can be moved upwards and downwards for sorting how you want, in my case all the Google those upstairs.
