I read in another forum where people talk about uninstall Google update n re service - install but I don't really know how easy n security is.

  If you have restarted? Sometimes, that's all it takes. It just depends on how many times this happens.

  I have never had to re - install the Google services, but I got it suck a lot of battery. You can certainly try. It's risk free - uninstall updates for Google services, (I would reboot) and then update the application. Perhaps even reboot again for good measure.

  I invested in one of these portable Chargers, so that might be an option, in that you can watch. I also have a charger at work I use in the middle of the day.

I tried other email applications, but for me, this one is pretty good and does not want to use another app for something I already have.   Have you tried force reboot the phone by holding down the button sleep and home for 10 seconds, until the Apple logo comes back again?
