Graphic/video card upgrade

I have a Compaq Presario 5570F desktop computer.  I would like to improve my graphics all in game.  Do you have any suggestions?  Specifically, I play world of Warcraft and the FPS is very low.

Susan,

Power 250 watt with 14 amps on the 12 + vot bus won't be big enough for a decent video card. A 500 Watt power supply should be big enough to power most video cards.

How to replace a power supply.

How to replace a video card.

You need to open your PC and measure the physical dimensions of your diet.  Here is a list of the things to consider:

  1. Specifications
  2. Total power - important
  3. amperage 12 + v - important
  4. Modular - is not required, but I like the flexibility
  5. Warranty
  6. I7 and SLI ready
  7. Efficiency rating
  8. Cost
  9. The physical size - standard ATX PSU is 5.5 "by 5.9" by 3.4 "give or take a few tenths

www.Newegg.com has many choices of power supplies.  Corsair, OCZ, Rosewill, Thermaltake...

    I have the following:

The video card seems to have gone out and tried the following:

    Operating system reinstallation

Before attempts above, no changes had been made to software or hardware only led to the same result: the video seems to be fine, and then it crashes and hangs and doesn't eventually having a hard reboot how, the computer loads the integrated video/graphic card.

I need to buy a replacement video/graphics card, but I'm not sure what card I need to be aware of, or that my computer can handle as a replacement and maybe a possible upgrade (not necessary) - any help in this regard would be most appreciated.

    Thank you!

    I think it's a good choice.

The comments seem positive most of the time that the fan seems to be quiet.

I don't know if your previous card had HDMI.

When you install your new video card, it can disable your sound system because of the HDMI audio chip on the video card.

If you do not lose your integrated audio system, after you install the video drivers, reboot the machine, go into BIOS, find the onboard audio setting. It can be set to Auto or disabled. Change the setting to "Enabled". Save the configuration when you have made the change and again when you exit the BIOS.

Upon restart, you will have your on-board audio back.

    Impatience back on your part.

I came into possession of a HP Touchsmart 300-1120. I do not use not for the games just the navigation and use to watch movies when traveling through Plex home theater.

I've updated the CPU to an Athlon X 4 605th & maxed out the RAM 8 GB. I noticed that I can upgrade the video card using the Mobile PCI Express Module slot.  Even though I know that the GPU Radeon HD 3200 onboard can handle HD videos, he hangs out considerably. even though I have the film on the hard drive.

So the question is, where can find one of these cards. And is there a way to upgrade the PSU?

Your PC AIO has a sleeve of MXM graphics.  The following video card will work. It was included in some models of PC.

HP 594505-001 nVidia GeForce G210 512 MB MXM DDR3 video card

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/ShowPhoto.aspx?PartNumber=594505-001

You need to search online to find a seller or a person who has one for sale. I see them on eBay for @ $35-50, 00

The upgrade of the PSU is not a viable option.

  • The HP ENVY h8-1500z with a new video card upgrade

    Hello

My current video card is a 1 GB of Nvidia that came with the installer and requires more power.  I want to upgrade the video card for this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131562) this map requires power and this kind of care.

I opened my PC and it looks like the current power is 300W, but I do not see a card for a video about this card. My question is: Y at - it sort of an adapter I can use with existing PS? If I need to exchange the PS, can I use any power supply in this PC? It will be (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139050) to adapt and work? If not, what suggestions do you have?

    Thanks for the help.

Wanted to add that I am running:

    6-core AMD FX 6120 to 3.50 Ghz

    14 GB of RAM

    64-bit OS Win Pro 8.1

    NVidia GeForce GT 620

The graphics card, you want to install on your computer requires a minimum of 500 watts power. The Corsair CX500M that you access will work for your computer and work with your desired graphics card.

  • Pavilion p7 - 1226 s video card upgrade

    Summary:

I want to improve my system with the highest rated PassMark reference video card that my system will support with my current 300W power supply.

    Details:

I bought a new Pavilion p7 - 1226 s last month with the intention of upgrading the system with more memory, another hard drive internal and a new card video - over time. I'm not a power user; I just want to keep my skills in the game with these actions.

The last system I upgraded has been focused on the PCI so I was excited about the capabilities of PCI-E 2.0 of this system for the video upgrade. I considered the 300W PSU to be of sufficient size to allow a decent upgrade. I went to Nvidia.

I believe that the integrated video (HD 2000?) in my system of registers somewhere between 245 and 375 refers.

The Geforce GT 430 and 440 again specify a power of 300W. Their notes are respectively 667 and 830.

I wonder if my system will support these cards.  So, I write this way. If it is not, my question then becomes "what video card my system will support? Double width would be perfect. There seems to be a lot of physical space of the card.

I think that most video cards specify not only power but rated current. These current ratings can be anywhere from 12 to 22 amps at 12 volts amps. I was also unsuccessful in discovering what could be the p7 power supply 12V rated current.

I searched this forum briefly and I am impressed with many of the answers. I know there are some really smart people out there who can help me. Thank you in advance.

My target price on sale at Fry Electronics is about $75. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Thanks again

    Hello

The amperages are additive for the dimensioning of power which only has some relationship to what the video card needs.  Video card manufacturers want to head because they don't really know how everyone PC is configured and just how hard the graphics card will be used.

I change this link for the HP of the above items. I was never in this place so I do not know how the address was mutilated.

Also far than the 545 NVIDIA goes, stick with the card HP as it is designed for a 300 Watt power supply.  I suspect that the retail sector 545 work but safe, stick with the HP 545.

  • Pavilion G6 2303su: the video card upgrade?

Hello.  I'm here to ask you, could I upgrade my video card on my HP Pavilion 2303su g6?  As graphics card Radeon HD 7670 M becomes older and older, I was wondering if I can get my video card to a newer model of AMD or Nvidia even?

And also if I might well want to ask you if it is possible to update my video card, to give me some recommendations or the same list of compatible video card for my laptop designs.

Any help would be really greatly apreciated!

    Kind regards

    Opticork

No there is no way to upgrade your video card. This isn't a card at all but just a chip soldered to the motherboard. The video card, you have found and ask the subject for a very expensive high-end gaming machine which has the equivalent of a pci-e slot on the motherboard called MXM laptop. Your laptop has such without crack and no place to plug such a card.

  • HP Pavilion H8-1017 cb: video card upgrade or get a new computer

I plan to install a new video card and power supply to support a monitor 43 "UHD or buy a gaming computer brand new with GTX 970.   What is the best video card compatible with my computer and the motherboard to work with UHD?

Also, would I waste my time to upgrade my current computer or saving a ton of money with great results?

You can upgrade to a powerful video card, but there are a few things you need to know and do.

Motherboard of your desktop came a generation before UEFI and only allows the installation of video cards that support legacy BIOS sound.  This means that you can install a video card that has inherited the BIOS support or a physical switch that allows the choice of the BIOS UEFI\Legacy.  Otherwise only video card BIOS UEFI will not be recognized under the current name of your card motherboard BIOS and the PC does not past the MESSAGE at startup, even in the BIOS.

You will need to install a power supply (Corsair or another brand of enthiusiast) who will provide at least 400-450 watts of high quality. The PSU mus also delivered with power connectors 6\8 PCIe pins for the video card. Check the configuration required for video cards of candidate you are watching.

Sapphire and MSI both make video cards that have a switch and they also make video cards that support the old BIOS only. It's a little more difficult to discern what MSI video card support the BIOS strives.

  • Pavilion a6200n: Pavilion a6200n video card upgrade

I have a Pavilion a6200n that I'm fixing to the top for my son. I want to upgrade the video card to something like that

"EVGA GeForce 210 Passive 1024 MB DDR3 PCI Express DVI/HDMI/VGA USB2.0 graphic card"

I know that I need to upgrade the PSU also, but this card would work with the system?

    Tanks for your advice.

    Uroboros1200, welcome to the forum.

I think that the card should work without any problems.  However, because it requires only 300W to work correctly, I suggest buying the card and try it with the current power supply (PSU).  The worst that will happen is that the system does not start.  When you do that, you replace the power supply.  The manufacturers recommend more power need to protect themselves.

  • HP Touchsmart 520 PC video card upgrade?

Hello!  I just bought my PC through QVC a few months back and I was wondering how I could go about upgrading the hardware.

I'm not a real tech-savvy person, so I'm not sure how I'd be able to find out if I could upgrade the video card and the graphics card and if yes, what kind would advise you?

Processor: AMD APU with Radeon HD Graphics (2CPUS) ~2.7GHz A4-3400

Display: (do not know if this is my video card) AMD Radeon6410D graphics card

    RAM: 4 GB

    Model number: 520-1031

    Product number: QU156AA #ABA

    Hello

Based on it care, there are:

    Expansion slots:

    • A half-length PCI Express mini card socket (generation 2 speed)
    • Taking full length mini card PCI Express (generation 2 speed)
    • A PCI Express MXM slot that takes care of a PCI Express x 16 graphics card (generation 2 speed)

In theory, you can upgrade the video card but to find where to buy MXM card for your machine could be a challenge therefore check with HP. You can order one and then using this upgrade up yourself:

  • HP Pavilion A6528P video card upgrade?

My HP is 3 years old and has been a good solid computer.

My only problem is the poor video performance while playing world of Warcraft. I can still play with the graphics set to the lowest, but I was planning to splurge on an upgrade. I would try and find out the best game.

My problem is that it's the embedded video and I'm not good with parts and replacement. I would like specific advice and help that what follows:

    1. what video card can I switch to (minimal cost and ease of installation)?

    2. will I need to upgrade the processor or the fan as well?

    3. are there places that perform installation relatively easily for me (I'd be scared he bust)

Your patience and your expertise is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Jenant, welcome to the forum.

1.) before considering upgrading the video card, you need to upgrade the power supply (PSU).  The current PSU is only 250W.  Any video card that would go with this small amout of power would not be much better, if at all, as the integrated video.  I like Corsair and OCZ PSU.  You will want to purchase a video card that is 9 "long or less.  I like XFX, BFG, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.

(2.) the processor and the fan should be fine.

3.) these two components are fairly easy to install.  The PSU is the most difficult of them.  Make sure to mark where the cables are connected to the power supply current.  This will make it easier to install the new cables.  The video card is the easiest of all the components to install.

There are many videos on the Internet showing you how to install both.  Here is a guide to build a computer on Newegg.

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw

There are two parts, so watch both.  They will give you a good idea how to install the power supply and the video card.  I know that you're probably not ready to try a build on your own, but they will give some good information.

If you want recommendations for both, let me know.

  • Dimension E510 video card upgrade

    Hello

I apologize if this isn't the place to ask this question, because I'm not too familiar with the forums.

I am currently using a fairly old Dell Dimension E510 system and hoped to upgrade the video card.  I googled under and turned off for a while now, hoping to find an answer today, but most of the results seem to date several years with links to maps is no longer in stock.  Knowing little about video cards, if someone here could offer advice on a replacement that will last me until I have buy a new PC later in the year, I would really appreciate it.

    My system features:

Size of Windows 7 desktop computer E510
Processor Pentium IV - 3.0 GHZ
4 GB of RAM (3.5 usable)
    Power 460 w (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002G1YPHK)
    Radeon X 300/X 550/X 1050 video card (chip Type: Radeon X 600 Pro)

If he has more information required of it, I'd be happy to try to provide it.  I think that the graphics card uses PCI Express, but to be honest, don't really know how to check if it is 1.0 or 2.0 or 2.1 (or what it really means).

With respect to a replacement of the video card, I mean really something sharp.  I imagine that the system he could not handle anyway.  I do a lot of games on the PC.  For most of World of Warcraft, which I would like to run a bit more smoothly.  It would be also nice to watch videos 1080 on YouTube without stutter constantly, but I don't know how much this has to do with the graphics card and how much has to do with her being just a really old computer.

I would like to spend less than $100 to replace, if possible.  As I said, I plan on getting a new machine later in the year, and it's more a stopgap solution until then.  Still, I obviously prefer the best shot for my money.

I was looking on Amazon, but I don't know if they are to be considered:
    -http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Mini-HDMI-Graphics-01G-P3-1526-KR/dp/B00549HZ7S
    -http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-100292DDR3L/dp/B004N3BH0C

The last seems to his price is great, but I know there are problems of compatibility with PCIE 2.1 and do not know if that would come with my system.

Thank you all for reading and for advice, suggestions or any help that you can offer.

    -Joseph

I would forget the last one (HD 5450).  Very low end and not much better considered as the new HD integrated graphics on computers today.  Also, forget the old 9800 GT.  It is not at all sharp.  Version 2.1 is compatible on motherboards 1.0, which is probably what you have.  If you play WOW, I would not go with the GT 520 either because it is very low end for any type of games.  I would watch the HD 6670 if you want something reasonable in cost and will perform well enough for WOW.  Your old Pentium 4 is just holding you back, however.  Here's a couple to watch and I don't think you need to spend more than one.

    @Cebos, welcome to the forum.

I believe that this EVGA GTX 750Ti should register in the area without any problem.  If you don't want this card, you can measure from the port of e/s back on the front of the case where the card will be installed to see if another card adapt.  The essence is to ensure there is enough space to provide for good air circulation.
