Gray photos icloud on macbook

I'm helping a friend with his problem:

Problem with icloud on his macbook pro (with safari AND chrome):

When it connects to icloud.com and goes to the pictures they appeared all the grey boxes.

I can click on them to make them appear more big but they gray stay (with a circle of load on them).

When I connect the icloud with another macbook or pc everything works fine.

If the pictures are on her icloud, but they will not appear on his personal macbook for some reason any.

Anyone who can help me with this? I looked for a solution on the forum and google but found none with the same problem.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried to restart Safari?

Note that if you open the Photos on your Mac and go to preferences and click on iCloud at the top of the preferences window, there are 2 options: 'Download the originals of this Mac' and 'Optimize Mac storage.' • iPhotos, photos, iCloud?

I just transferred my huge library of iPhoto (120GB) to Photos app on my iMac, which is not sync to iCloud, but they are all stored on a local hard drive.  I also have iPhone where I backup all of my Photos on iCloud (25 GB) - and can see all these when I go into the Photos on my Macbook Air, where I don't store any separate photos.

My question is (and I tried Googling and forums search) - if I turn now on iCloud sync on my iMac, photos from the iMac Photos get uploaded to iCloud Photos?  Then the pictures in the iCloud for my phone download on my iMac and get them merged into the local library?  And what of my phone and macbook air?  Can see all the photos of my iMac on the macbook Air (not on the phone, I'm going to assume that this is a one-way synchronization to iCloud only?).

I'm trying to find the best way to consolidate somewhere, all my pictures from my phone and my iMac...  Without all these transfer to my macbook air does not take valuable storage capacity.

Thank you!! (And my apologies, I am a newbie in the forums, where my question is not worded correctly!)

When you enable iCloud photo library on multiple devices, pictures of these separate devices will download to iCloud photo library to create a photo library unified in iCloud. And all the photos that you upload to iCloud photo library will be uploaded to all devices that use iCloud photo library.

The library will be updated to be the same on all devices.  Do not enable iCloud library on where you don't want to have all your photos uploaded to devices.

You could disable iCloud photo library on your MacBook Air, or use the "Optimize Mac Storage" option.  While the MacBook Air will only download small and optimized your photo versions and does not store the originals of complete sizes.

  • How to transfer photos of the Macbook to timecapsule workflows

How to transfer flow of photos of the Macbook to time capsule?

A Time Capsule is a mute like a hard disk of Board inside a router... It is designed for a single task only... for time machine backup target.

However, there is no extension of media either.

It cannot be used for photos or iphoto without causing problems... It is now and for always the silent hard disk.

Apple created photos and photostream around iCloud. All extensions are there... They could have done the TC also work for the photos, but they prefer to sell space you on iCloud.

An issue as shown here is how you access the TC on the network.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/applehelp/comments/393ig7/new_photos_app_library_time_c apsule_not_working.

At the very least, you use a DMG file as a virtual drive so that you can support HFS +... and you shouldn't force the connection to the AFP... Although El Capo who even would not be possible. It removes also hope to share files on the network... other that each device can open the DMG one at time in turn.

  • How to access and delete the Photos "iCloud"?

Here's the problem in detail: I go to 'contacts' app, I go to the photo of a contact, click on it and then I get a box, right?

    -Default Photos

    iCloud - Photos

    -Faces

    -Camera

OK, under 'Photos iCloud' there are very risky pictures I ever intend to be downloaded in iCloud. It's okay, I say, I'll just open "iCloud" and delete them. Boy, if it were that easy...

So, I open "finder" and go to "iCloud Drive" on the left. There is nothing contained in iCloud drive. I go to iCloud.com and click on the pictures, it says "Welcome to photos, go into settings to allow iCloud photos." So, I'm a computer major and I don't know where these photos are available on the internet. They are not in my repertoire "iCloud Drive" they are not on 'iCloud.com', but they appear in the contacts under «iCloud Photos»

    What Miss me?

You have the iCloud as library enabled in your photo library?  If yes then you will need to remove them from your local library in order to remove from the library to iCloud.

  • Photos, iCloud and OneDrive sync

    Hi all

I have a question on how to better organize my photo library.

For the moment, on my space OneDrive (mapped to a partition on my MacBook SSD), I have a folder called 'Images' containing just about all of my photos and organized by folders.

Since my tech ecosystem is roughly marked Apple (iPhone, iPad and MacBook), I would use the power and versatility of the Photos and iCloud, so that everything remains in all of my devices and free space memory iPhone sync.

Here's the question: I want to keep my pictures saved on OneDrive, then put the Photos on my Mac to view photos from this folder and use iCloud to share through my devices.

-I see the same folder structure on iPhone and iPad a synchronization is complete?

-More important, if I take a picture with my iPad, it will be placed not only on iCloud but also automatically added pictures on Mac which, in turn, puts it in the folder of photos on my OneDrive?

-Finally, take pictures of my iDevices will store them in the film. If I move them into folders, photos will be mapped (copied to iCloud) on my other devices constantly (in the folder)?

I would like to notice I'm not trying to avoid using iCloud premium space - I already have a subscription plan of 50 GB that I don't mind mounted. I just keep having just all my photos on OneDrive.

Thank you in advance for any comments you may have!

    Paul

    The answer is simply not

The photo library can not be stored on a basic system to pictures not work will have a referenced library, so you may not have a local library references photos on a disc - the photo library can be on a local drive connected directly to the Mac OS Extended format

You can synchronize between the Mac and IOS devices using iCloud library that synchronizes the photos and the structure of the album/folder between devices

When you import pictures you can export them to your OneDrive record and have a copy (not associate Photos somehow) on a disk

You can not have the same physical pictures in Photos and on one disc - each must have its own copy of the Photo

  • Cannot start sharing photos icloud

I have several apple devices that can access iCloud, photo sharing, but not my primary iMac. However, if I register in a guest account, I can access iCloud, photo sharing. I guess it's a system file problem, but don't know which.

When I go to Shared in pictures, I get a message, "iCloud Photo Sharing is available in the library of Photo System." I toggled iCloud Photos on and outside, signed in and out of the iCloud, removed com.apple.cloudphotosd, among others and still no love. Any ideas?

El Cap 10.11.6, but had the same problem in older versions as well.

    You give confused information

What exactly you are doing - sharing photos to iCloud and iCloud photo library are two totally different services - with iCloud, photo sharing you do not access to ' ' photos - you invite people to subscribe to shared albums

What version of the operating system and Photos are automatically using, and what are your settings on your Mac and on every IOS device iCloud. And as for the library system - launch Photos using the library wanted and then in the preferences to set it as the system library (if defined as system library is grayed out it's library system)

  • How can I download content iCloud for Macbook Pro?

My iCloud storage is full. I want to download (and delete) pictures and videos to my Macbook Pro. I can't find any information on how to do it. Can anyone help?

    Thank you!

It's super easy. What you need to do is launch your web browser on Mac, go to icloud.com, sign in with your Apple ID and click on the Photos icon. This brings you directly on the photos that are installed in iCloud.

    How do you import:

-directly from the iPhone to the MacBook by USB or WiFi?

-by means of iCloud photo library?

    -through the my photo stream?

You have iCloud library enabled on each of your three devices?

  • synchronize photos iCloud: appleid often repeated connection required

Often, for 'request' or 'force' photo synchronization to start, we'll each device in turn, go to settings, select the appleid and the account and re - enter the password. It's as if he has somehow (for purposes of Photos) was disconnected.

However, it should be noted, all the other iCloud synchronization took place without a hitch (for example, Safari, Contacts, Notes, calendar, app folders, etc.). It's just photos synchronization, in the presence of Wi - fi, which sometimes is, shall we say, "hesitant." Very annoying.

The devices involved are two iPads, two iPhones, and two MacBook Pro. All sharing an appleid to iCloud sharing purposes. We pay a premium for the extra space iCloud, we store a potload of photos. All the appropriate settings have been made on all the devices (including the photo allowing stream). I've been through, several times, the painful process of disabling iCloud synchronize Photos, restart devices and turning iCloud synchronize Photos on. I say painful because he was wearing the re-synchronization of these potloads of photos on each of the six devices danged. Next for each. Grrr...

If someone has a reasonable suggestion on how I could get this to work more smoothly, I would appreciate more surely hear.

The specific photo related questions what do you see? You are activating / deactivating photos works for each device, but we did not know, why you feel that is necessary.

If you have iCloud that active library, the photo stream is redundant and is not used.

On the 2 phones, howe, a lot of space is always available and that you have optimized enabled anywhere to save space?
