  The frame for you size source of material is HDTV 1080i (16:9). That only sets the size of the image, not the domination of the field, it's what makes progressive or interlaced. The reason it's labels with the 'i' is that when FCP7 was abandoned by Apple, they have never updated the software in order to take account of 1080 p contents.

  To make your progressive sequence, set the dominant field to None.

  In your screenshot of the properties of the element for your clip to the source, the material is interlaced. At the original camera file interlaced or progressive?

  Also, the fps footage was actually 30 original and 29.97 not standard?  30 images/s is very limited its use.

  I did only 20 "(1680 x 1050) displays connected to the MacPro running Fusion 3.0.1 but I want to test an application in my Windows XP guest who wants to have a bigger screen."  How can I configure my guest to be higher than my physical screen display for example 1920 x 1200?  I know I've seen invited Linux have higher res displays and they appear nice and scaling down in vmware, but my Windows XP screen of the guest takes the dimensions of my vmware window and always displays pixels one for one.

  The image of the Virtual Machine window below was taken with grab and is 665 x 460 pixels (the actual size of the virtual machine window) but in the Windows XP prompt resolution is 1920 x 1200 and I turned on the magnifying glass, so I could show you the display settings dialog box showing you a higher resolution and a native resolution of my MacBook Pro is only 1440 x 900.  I was able to accomplish this by adding the following lines to the configuration of the Virtual Machine's .vmx file and the virtual machine must be stopped, not suspended, and merger closed when you edit the .vmx config file.

  monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "TRUE"
  monitor.virtual_exec = "hardware"
  

  Note that you will not use some of the VMware tools works with these parameters added to the configuration of the file but it will lead to a higher resolution then the native resolution of the host and the Virtual Machine window.

  Now if you can work in mode full screen, then you should be able to achieve a higher resolution without adding these parameters, but I got the impression that you wanted it windowed so why the information presented.

  Note that the status bar in the picture says that VMware Tools is not installed, but they are, and this message is a result of adding two parameters don't try so not install VMware Tools because the message is misleading in this use case.

• Flash game High Scores Board

  Hi all

  I know that it is a topic that covers a lot because I have seen a ton of tutorials which show of the dfferent 1 million ways to create a High Council mark on a flash game.  So I decided to go out on a limb and pick a tutorial to try.  Well I tried 3 different ones now and have yet to get a High Council with my game scores.

  This is the link to the latest attempts to creat my high scores Board.  When I finished all the way the tutorial said it seemed that everything would work and then it just didn't.  After spending oh about 40 more hours trying to make a high scores Board I am getting very frustrated.  My game is scripted in AS2 and I have access to mysql and can implement unlimited databases.

  Can someone help me please by sending an easy to follow tutorial will work with AS2?  I just like any type of help right now because I think that ALL my valid ideas would be ehausted.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

• Videos flash smeared high down in Firefox

  It just came. I have FF 33.1.1, and WIn 7 Home Premium. Flash videos play normally in Chrome, but videos are stained from the top down FF. I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash, but it does not help. Update: this morning, December 7, when I booted the computer, videos play normally again. I noticed that FF to version 34 last night, if that matters.

• Can I use a HP Mini 110-3190SF with external monitor of higher res?

  Totally new in the world of netbooks! Just bought a HP Mini 110 - 3190SF, thinking I could use it with my external monitor sometimes to take off the stump of my eyes... but the highest display resolution that Windows 7 allows me is 1024 px. (My external monitor is 1360 px). In addition, 1024 px is even properly displayed on the external monitor - the left side of the screen (including the Windows Start button) is off the screen.

  Of course, I tried the settings of the screen itself to have at least 1024 px is displayed correctly, but not joy. Ideally, I won't be able to change the output to 1360 px resolution, to take full advantage of the external display. Looking at this forum, it appears this is possible on older netbooks (Windows XP) but it does not seem possible when you run Windows 7. ??

  Obviously, huge disappointment if I'm limited to 1024 px (and even who does not display properly). All the solutions to one of them? My output doesn't appear to 1360 px? Or, failing that, at least to get my 1024 px displaying properly on the external monitor?

  Any help is appreciated...

  Thanks for the help. In fact, I solved the problem - not by installing the graphics driver, you suggested, but by installing a driver for the external monitor special I use (first time I've ever had to install a driver for a supposed to plug-and-play monitor!) and then play around with the settings. This allowed me to choose a higher resolution to 1024 px for the secondary display (IE, the monitor).

  If someone else gets stuck on this, I can give a step by step, but probably no one else would have taken longer than me to know what to do!

• I want my users to be able to click on a 600 pixel wide image in my project and make it open in splendor high res.

  I don't know the site Pro option. I've seen other users do this. They upload an image and it's self of size at 600 pixels wide, but when you click it, it opens in a new window in full resolution so that users can see fine detail. I'm puzzled! I did several searches on google and have also watched the videos on download and I was not able to find my answer.

  What I tried #1: I "save for web" in Photoshop and save it at 600 pixels wide as a .png. I have download on Behance. Cool, it fits and looks good. But now users cannot zoom in on her closer.

  Hello Kelsey,

  You may have noticed that we recently launched a new project editor who has been launching a huge for us - for the first time, our limit of the image is not 600 pixels, but you can download large images high resolution up to 1200 px! (and you can choose to use a new option of "full-bleed" to extend this to 1400).

  There is therefore no need for small (600 px) image with the album pop up. You can always activate the pop-up lightbox (in account settings), but any size you upload your image to (1200 px or less), it appears as such in the main body of your project. Then, when you click, you will be able to see it in a lightbox and progress for the following images.

• Help! Design complex secret to the vector? Or higher Res?

  I'll start by saying I have no real experience in Illustrator and need help because I'm in way over my head and need advice on what to do. Asked me to make this design to a friends car (half vinyl car), I had no idea how to do it, but felt like I could I felt good so I have experience with photoshop cs. I did the design on a 1000 x 800 each side of the car to 72pixels by thumb. You probably already know where Im going with this... So when I sent my design of the printing company they said that it wasn't a high enough resolution so now what do I do? I heard convert them into vector files works but am clueless about how to do it. IM embarrassed to have worked in photoshop for so long and know very little about how this works with any thing as well as my lack of time with the illustrator of scale.

  Mac OS 9 and Quark XPress 4 were very respectable in their time and can still do a fine job of making PDF files. Nothing wrong at all with an old computer balanced doing the same work, he has always done.

  Probably the best way for you to do is to have your framework contain a movieclip and apply the filter drop shadow to this movieclip via properties only panel... no actionscript required.

  Yep, there is a great Flash Ad. For some reason any AdBlock Plus seems not quite to block. You can try right-clicking on it and selecting "AdBlock Plus: block image. If this does not work, try to have reported the problem on the AdBlock support site - https://adblockplus.org/forum/

  I put my new 32 gb sandisk Flash DRIVE on my pc and then followed the steps HP support assistant to create a recovery media. I get a message to say the minimum 22 GB capacity. He gets 90% and then comes up with a message saying that we live errors in the creation of recovery media. Please try again.

  EOS-5? I guess this is the model of camera film, also sold a few places like A2 and A2E (which has a built-in flash)... and not a digital EOS - 5 d model of series (which do not have built-in flash).

  That being the case, there is probably a problem with the flash itself, making it slow, if not impossible to load up. The camera prevents you from taking a shot, as he tries to load the flash. Best of cases, regardless of batteries you are using are old or otherwise inadequate recharge the flash, which draws a lot of power. But it could also be that components of the flash itself has failed. It may be fixable, but I doubt on a device as old as the EOS-5 that Canon Service Dept. has all the means to do so. You will probably need to find an independent repairer.

  An alternative less costly would be simply do not use the built-in flash at all... Rather get an accessory flash to use in the hot shoe of the camera or flash support with an off-camera shoe cord. These would give effect of flash of higher quality anyway, than a top... Flashes accessories are also almost always much faster recycling... And they have their own separate battery, then empty the batteries of the camea. You'll have to do a little research to find out what model lightning is more usable with the EOS-5 (if you have a copy of the user manual, it probably recommend some flashes).

• InDesign to Flash Magazine

  I have a catalog big enough (about 200 pages) created in InDesign that I want to put online as a sort of flash magazine. I have basic skills in flash and basic animation.

  What I want to do, is see is there is a kind of "container" this kind of thing I can get which allows me to simply export the InDesign to format document swf, then bind it basically "container" which allows the catalogue of swf to be read like a magazine online in a web browser. Must be all the usual navigation tools to browse and navigate in an online magazine, as well as the ability to zoom on a product and see the images and the content in higher res.

  I am currently using CS4, but I also have CS5 if it's better for the export of this type of a project.

  Can anyone give me direction as to where I could find something prefabricated to use for this?

  Possibly, if I was able to export to PDF and have a "container" application receive and allow the same thing.

  Direct damage is useful please because I am open to all options for this.

  Another one that looks exactly like what you are wanting is edocker, Petteri Paananen, who is a regular contributor here is working.  These articles on Indesign Secrets here and here are not exactly what youre but thought could help.

  The 420EX is very old.  I don't know exactly when it was released, but the product manual is copyright 2000... Thus, it has certainly been around a while.

  As Skirball... it was replaced by the 430EX in 2005.

  The 430EX is replaced with the 430EX II in 2008.

  The 430EX II is still sold today (and it is a great flash.)
