GSM bands

Hi all

IV always had the latest iPhone, but I held to get the iPhone 6. I started looking for a new smartphone replacement and Sony series 'Z' is at the top of my list, I'll probably go for the compact Z3 based on this topic.

I compared the two phones (Z3/compact) at length, but there isn't much in it atall, I have a few unanswered questions, though.

Under the GSM bands, the Z3 has much more than the compact, but there is also what seems to be of different models. I am in England now, but in March I leave for South America were I will be going through 15 countries before ending in New Zealand. The phone will be ok in these countries.

Under GPS I noticed that the Pact does not use Beidou, the research is just a cover for China?

Finally What are the advantages of a smartphone from sony, rooting is this similar Jailbreak or mealy is a way to unlock the phone from its holder.

Thanks in advance

2G and 3G should work with all countries, because it has the same

2G GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 - D6603, D6643, D6653, D6616-band 3G.

3G HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 - D6603, D6643, D6653, D6616

Regarding the LTE which is more complicated

D6603 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 (groups 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, 20)

D6643 700/800/850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 (groups 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20)

D6653 700 / 850 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600 (groups 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 28, 40)

D6616 700 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100 (2, 4, 12 strips)

You will need to check each country's network and LTE bands. But as you can see most of the time D6603 will be the best option.

I can't find any difference on the pages of specifications HP, and above all, both offer 200 MB/month 4 G Data with T-Mobile.
I don't want to end up with a non American model that does not work with the GSM bands in the United States.
What is the difference between the 5901 and 5909?

    F38urry,

Good summary of the gsm bands. I picked up one unlocked Rokr E6 years for my trips abroad.

Initially only three of the four strips were available (enabled).

A quick trip to the Internet, explained the procedure to activate the fourth band as well as additional options "improvements" on this phone.

As mentioned earlier, I am quite willing to move to an android phone that will allow me to combine my needs national and international phone.

I noticed the reference to two bands gsm in the Bionic thus pdf.

It is a surprising limitation in comparison with other global phones like the droid and the incredible 2 3.

I travel to some places weird and want (need?) to the coverage offered by a four dual band phone.

The guidelines is interesting for its flexibility (other countries), but it seems more expensive (per minute) than the use of the individual sim for each specific country/region (Europe).

It allows you to keep the same number from one country to the other?

Can someone tell me please a link that contains information about how to change my BB Bold 9930 brand OS to another other than Verizon's CDMA network. I'm new to the BB but have COMPUTER experience and a familiar with Android. I know there are a lot of sites with information on the release and OS unbranding inds and changing. A legitimate site exists where one might find the tools and instructions that can help the owner of a BB change its device without having to rely on a team of Technical Support of network providers who charge for a service that can be done by the owner? Sarcastic or useful comments will be greatly appreciated.

    1. it won't work on Sprint (Sprint allows on its only purchased network devices or brand for the Sprint.

    2. you can make it work on ATT and TMobile in the USA, but only at speeds of slower EDGE data. And, it is not an easy solution to operate on ATT or TMo, due to several factors, mainly including the 9930 requires books have different service from Tmobile and ATT, so it's a process of extracting the required service books and getting them on the 9930. And then it will be slow when not connected to WiFi.

Bottom line... don't even try. The 9930 is a planned feature of CDMA network. It is very good for overseas travel occasionally and using foreign networks on GSM bands, but not for permanent use in the United States on GMS network ATT or Tmobile.

    Who help me?

What network are you moving to?

  • TELUS of Smartphones blackBerry Bold 9700 in Northern Ontario?

Hello, I'm about to buy a Bold 9700 from telus, and I wonder if the unit will not operate even where I live.   I live in Timmins, and we do not have ' have 3 + coverage according to the telus website, but we have Rev.A CDMA coverage (which is what I have on my htc device), and we also have a GSM coverage with the rogers network.

The Blackberry Bold 9700 from telus will work in Timmins in ontario?  Will's use of Rogers GSM bands?   I'm better off getting the Curve 8530, which is a CDMA phone?

Thanks for the comments, I need to know before you buy.

9700 will not work with CDMA.

Bell/Telus works exclusively on the HSPA network for the 9700 unsure about Rogers however.

    Thank you

    Hello!

You need two things to be able to use your BB in another country than the one where you have your cell phone plan:

1 - your BB must be unlocked, so that it accepts a SIM card from any carrier, not just the one that you have a contract with at home.

2 - your BB must use / have at least one of the GSM bands same those of the carrier you choose to go with the uses (whether at home or abroad).

    Hope that helps.

    See you soon!

  • Application for Smartphones CDMA/GSM blackBerry 9650 on

    Hi all

I am interested in buying a 9650, but am confused about one thing:

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/devices/blackberrybold/bold_specifications.jsp

    BlackBerry Bold 9650:

    • Networks GSM/GPRS/EDGE quad-band: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
    • Single band: 2100 MHz UMTS® networks / HSPA
    • Dual band: 800/1900 networks MHz CDMA/EVDO REVA

Does this mean that there are three different "types" of 9650 (GSM, UMTS, CDMA), or that there is one device that has all of the above functions?

And I have reason to believe that the reason for these different types is that carriers from different countries use a different technology (e.g. GSM in Europe) and CDMA in US?

And, finally, why this difference? Certainly, it would be easier to have just a bunch?

    Sheen says:

    One device, the three bands.

  • BlackBerry Torch 9860 (GSM) smartphone connects to 3G

    Hello

I hope someone can help me. I have a new Torch 9860 GSM () and everything loaded fine, but it connects to 3G network. I don't get the Blackberry symbol and it remains on the EDGE. It connects to the WiFi and works pretty well on wi - fi. I have download the books service and went to the Table host routing and selected 'Register Now'... and I get the email that it was registered... but never, it connects to 3G.

It is a torch unlocked with AT & T software... but it is not an AT & T phone, self... If that makes sense. When it starts it says "SFR 3 g +" where AT & T would normally... etc...

What should I do, if anything, to connect to the 3G network... ?  I'm just dreaming... ?  Laughing out loud

    Thank you!

    Lisa

    Hi lkscales,

Unfortunately, I believe the Torch 9860, maybe you bands bad for full on AT & T 3G data access. It probably will work correctly on TMobile, but you will only be able to get AT & T EDGE speeds.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If you want to try to change someone, find a Torch 9860 of Telus, Rogers, Bell, AT & T, etc. The version you have should work fine on SFR, TMobile USA and Wind Mobile (to Canada).

    I hope this info helps!

  • Aluminium look and mesh band watch

It is still possible to use a watch band of mesh in stainless steel with a series of Apple Watch 2 aluminum?

    Hello

Yes - any band of Apple Watch can be worn with any model of Apple Watch of the corresponding size of the case (38mm / 42mm).

  • For the gold watch bands

I want a new group for my Apple Watch Gold but I can't find with gold (like the button on the sportband) details, everything is money! Apple doesn't sell strips separate w Gold (or pink) details or I simply cannot find them?

    Hello

At the present time, when you buy woven Nylon and bands Sport separately as accessories, only bands that offer a colored PIN or loop are the strip of black Sport (which is available with a black space pine) and the strip of black woven Nylon.

  • FCPX jump during the import of the band. Analysis of the root causes?

    Dear friends,

I have a camera Sony TRV-900F video connected via FW800 to an iMac late 2009 with 16 GB of RAM, a quad core i7 2.8 and one 1 original to HDD with El Capitan.

When I import one of my miniDV tapes (which are between 2000 and 2012 about and been wound and rewound before capture and which were mainly recorded in one take on new tapes Sony and never reused) FCPX any images in fragments of random size (from a few hundredK to 10-14 MB) and frequently shows loss of images and some audio distortion imported into the timeline and re-read.

Final tried to create archives first and then import, but the result is the same.

What I don't understand, is that, at least apparently, none of these problems of 'corruption' appears if I look/hear the tapes in camcorder Sony itself!

I tried to use iMovie and same fragmentation occurs so I guess it is not related to the SO FCPX itself.

So far, I have received the iMac 1 TB hard drive and now have tried to import on a 128 GB SSD in a USB enclosure (which is USB3, but if I'm not mistaken my iMacs USB ports are USB2). Even to jump occurs.

Maybe I need to configure the SSD in a different way and to define not only as the backup directory for imports?

If the best ideas don't come to mind the next tests I'll make are:

    (a) purchase of a NEW band and try to record and import from it. If it works, this would indicate the older strips are damaged, but it does not explain why they look good in the camera.

    (b) purchase a head cleaning cassette and to use it carefully and see if he would heal playback and import.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

Post edited by: robertfromroma. Added the MacOS version. FCPX is 10.1

Try the import with QuickTime player and see if you get the same results.

    Hello

All strips of Apple Watch, past and present, will be to adapt any Apple Watch of the same size of the case (42mm or 38 mm).

(To clarify, series 1 does not refer to the original watch. He referred to a new Apple Watch model that has the same characteristics as the first generation of Apple Watch, with the exception of a new dual-core processor).
