Guaranteed - he will suffer if I add another hard drive?

I'll set up a law office, and it was suggested I have add an additional hard drive in my Dell computer that automatically performs a daily backup.

One thing that is not clear to me, that's how to install an additional hard drive would affect the warranty, so I thought I would ask my question directly:

If I install my own extra hard drive not purchased from dell, and assuming that no damage occurs during installation, is that cancels a portion of the warranty? I don't have a coverage additional hard disk, simply, I don't want to void any warranty on the existing material.

Hi pudelgrl,

Thanks for your post.

Adding additional pieces to your computer will not void the warranty.  Just keep in mind that if you want to help out with a Dell Technical Support, the unit must be returned to the original configuration.

Kind regards
Robert

  • I want to add another hard drive to my computer pls HELP

OK, so I want to add another hard drive for my windows xp, 512 MB of ram and 32 GB of hard drive and it's a Dell Dimension 3000/desktop PC.

How can I get a new one, how do I know if it is the right type, where I'd get a? Thank you for your help :D

You look at the manual of your system, see what kind of connection there / what lead types/sizes it can manage and buy appropriately.

However - given the age of this system - I'm just down, buy an external USB drive and use it.  You will eventually be able to take to any machine use - including the one that replaces the one you have.

  • Can I add another hard drive to my Mac Pro?

    End of 2013

3.7 GHz quad core Xeon E5

    16 GB of ram

    500 GB Flash

Ive run out of hard drive space. Can I add another flash drive or is it better to buy an external hard drive? If external which is more reliable Thunderbolt or USB 3?

Go on everymac.com and find your model of Mac Pro for a good list of specifications and upgrade opportunities.

I know "reliable." Limits of reliability are probably based on the envelope model and model also in car inside (not always easy to find) rather than the type of connection. Thunderbolt is probably faster but still a somewhat unusual connector to find so if you are looking for less cotly a USB3 will be cheaper and there will be more models available. Make sure you know that there is a reliable drive inside.

  • Can I add another HARD drive to my Satellite P200-1EE?

I have recently just bought a Toshiba Satellite P200-1EE. I can't blame it, it's great having a HD-DVD player, Vista Home Premium, 2 GB of RAM and 160 GB Hard Drive. The only problem is that I'm worried that 160 GB will go very quickly in adding games for Windows Game, being a game up to 16 GB.

So I wonder, in the model P200 - 1EE, is there a free slot in one of the hard drive bays, and if so, it would be possible to insert a 2.5 "Western Digital Scorpio SATA Drive (WD3200BEV) 320GB in there?
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=377he on this hard drive details at this page:

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Say the user manual?
Please see the user manual that must be preinstalled on your laptop.

As far as I know not all laptops Satellite P200 would support the second HDD due to lack of second HARD disk controller.
That's why it of necessary to check the second span for the HARD drive connectors available.

Remove the second HARD drive Bay cover and the devil if the interface is not available.

  • If your computer comes with a hard drive of 32-bit pc will work better by adding another hard drive of 60 bits or transfer all files on the hard drive of 60 bits?

The pc is a hp pavilion a706n and windows vista ultimate.

    Hello

You confuse the version of Windows with the hard drive.

A hard drive is a physical device for Windows (operating system)
are the programs installed. When the data is created and saved which are written in the
hard drive. A hard disk is analogous to a wardrobe as a storage device.

Hard drives are not little dependent, which means that you can run Windows 32 or 64 on them
If the rest of the system is compatible with every version.

Windows can be 32-bit or 64-bit. But not all hardware systems can run both.
Many 32-bit systems cannot run 64-bit Windows.

Your computer came with at least a possible hard disk to add possibly
    internally, and certainly outside.

    WiKi - hard disk drive
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Hard_disk_drive

As TrekDozer said that your computer cannot run as 64-bit Windows if you need to stay
with 32-bit Windows. However, you can add additional hard disks of extra disk space.

Check with HP support, their books online and the drivers, diagnosis, and
their forum are good sources of information from others with the same or similar
    systems.

  • Please help me. How can I unlock my administrator account while accessing this form another hard drive. ?

Please help me. How can I unlock my administrator account while accessing this form another hard drive. ?

    Please help me...
I use windows xp svc pack 3. some how it gets corrupted now and all my important data is in the folder my documents on my desk. I got my account with a password. I tried to repair my widows through the recovery console, but I was unable to open a session in my Windows through this procedure just stuck computer is there. even when I tried to fix it through the installation of windows, Setup also stuck on the step where it says "in search for earlier versions of windows."
now, I tried to copy the data by accessing another operating system on another hard drive but when I opened my account administrator located in the documents and settings folder, it says access is denied. I really need that data on these files is very important to me.
If you have an administrator password in windows, then the recovery console would need in order to log in the disk system, i.e. the c prompt.

If you tried to do a repair with the cd, then it may not have worked if your cd is the sp2 version of windows on your computer has been updated to sp3 version.  for the sp2 of xp cd works, you will need to uninstall the update to sp3 via Add/Remove programs.

so, now that you have enslaved the hard drive on another computer, you will need to do is try to take ownership of the files/folders:

  • Why my computer will not pick up my external hard drive?

Why my computer will not pick up my external hard drive?
    using Windows 7 sp1

    Original title: usb

    Hello Fred,.

Windows 7 sometimes has trouble recognizing external drives connected to the USB ports. There are a number of possible corrections for this.

    1. make sure you that the USB port in question works with another device, that you know works. For example, take a mouse that you know doesn't work and plug it into the USB port is connected. The mouse still works? If Yes, go to #2.

2 do a reset power coercive.

    1. Unplug the power cord. Then (on a laptop) remove the battery.
    2. Unplug all USB devices.
    3. Leave it alone - don't connect or reconnect the devices for several minutes.
    4. After several minutes plug the power supply cord.
    5. Then install the battery.
    6. Turn on the computer and restart as normal without plug any USB device.
    7. Connect your devices one at a time and let them install as usual.

The external hard drive works now? If not, go to #3.

    3. I have and others have used an application of part 3, the freeware Aomei Partition Wizard, download here: http://download.cnet.com/AOMEI-Partition-Assistant-Standard-Edition/3000-18512_4-75118871.html?tag=mncol;1 (only use the Direct download link). Once installed, you need only browse the external drive and select it, then click Properties. That's all; simply choose the drive is enough to get the drive recognized by Windows 7, no formatting required.

I would like to know if one of these methods works for you. After back here with your results.

    Kind regards

  • NTLDR is missing - when you try to install Windows 7 on another hard drive

I have a PC Compaq Presario SR2027X a/w Win XP Media Center Edition SP3 installed.  I downloaded and installed the Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to determine if WIN 7 would go on my system.  The airport of Win 7 Upgrade Advisor said that I could install Win 7.  I bought Win 7 32 bit and 2-1 GB PC5300 memory sticks.  I first installed the memory and booted up the system.  Everything worked well.  BIOS has seen the new memory and I have not encountered any error.

I then turning the system off and removed the HDD (120 GB Sata).  I installed another hard drive (160 GB Sata) which had been restructured and ready to use.  The BIOS detects the hard drive and the BIOS has been changed for a start of the OPTICAL drive.  I then placed the WIN 7 32-bit software disk in the OPTICAL drive and saved the changes in BIOS and rebooted the system.  I was expecting to see the normal WIN 7 screens during the installation.  Instead, I got "NTLDR is missing, press CTRL + ALT + DEL to restart".

Then I tried pressing ESC during boot to enter the boot menu.  Once in the boot menu, I select the optical drive and now I get the message "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND press ENTER".  I opened and close the optical drive optical drive light lights up, and I then press on enter.  I get the same message on "DISK BOOT FAILURE,...» ».

I built more than 40 PC and have never had this problem.  Is there something unique about Compaq/HP PC's that prevents me to install WIN 7 on another hard drive that is not the original hard drive came with this pc?

HP / Compaq computers are no different from any other computer on the market. You can install Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8 on almost all made within the last 7 years.

I think that your problem is due to a failure of CD/DVD drive or disk installation of Windows 7 corrupt or unbootable. Please check that the CD/DVD drive is fully functional and functional as should be. Also, check that your Windows 7 disc is free of errors and that it is bootable. If necessary, you can download a Windows 7 SP1 ISO from HERE and HERE and also download Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool.

  • Pavilion x 2 10-n100na: can I add a hard drive from a HP Pavilion x 2 10-n100na?

Can I add a hard drive to a Pavilion x 2 10-n100na? I noticed that some models in this range, for example. the Pavilion x 2 10-n107na, have a 1 TB drive. These 2 machines appear identical on the outside, so I was wondering if the 10 - 100na has all the required internal connections such as I could slot in my own hard drive.

All answers gratefully received. Thank you.

    @Huffer

I noticed that the manual indicates that it is for some models only, but unfortunately there is not any information about who they are.

I have to disagree with you and say no.

You cannot add a disk hard unless your x 2 is one of the special types.

In the manual, you'll notice that even the keyboard, the coverage and the closing of the bottom are different. Take a very close look at this manual.
