guaranteed x201i DOWNGRADE!

I bought X201i in Nov 2010. Initially the description of warranty has 3 years warranty (on-site service).

as the picture below.

But now, 3 months later, description of the warranty has changed to 3 year warranty (Carry-in)

This photo was taken by my friend the day he bought X201i. I have a photo of my x201i warranty coz why you do this? Normally, nobody will understand desction of warranty page.

This problem occurred with M/T 3323 - EAT and M/T 3323 - L7T.  (We have CTO and practice online store here.)

In any case, I tried to contact lenovo Thailand here. But we have no direct way to contact lenovo here. We do not yet have Lenovo care here! The only number that we have is the service of repair of Lenovo (IBM actually)

Repair Lenovo service center inform me that If I want to communicate with Lenovo Care, I made an international call to the Malaysia! WT_F? How much it will cost to contact lenovo care?

I asked Shop Lenovo (Lenovo authorized here). Even the Manager of the store don't know either. Then they promised, they will be asked lenovo Thailand for me.

And lenovo Thailand (atually Store Manager) Lenovo China recorded description of false security for most of the X201i. Thailand Lenovo also refer to the brochuer that they published ( http://goo.gl/jybyM). And it changed the description of the warranty of the X201i on the Thailand if brochuer Lenovo '3 years Carry-In warranty.

So the next time I bought ThinkPad I have to keep the brochuer as a "guarantee card" right? But the button on the brochuer there is a small note "* Lenovo reserved the right to change the spec, beams and promotion without any notification '(actuallyhttp://goo.gl/XthlB , he said in thai but I circled on it)... So that means lenovo can change anything on brchuer (guarantee reference)?

X201i 3323-EAT out in September 2010.
X201i 3323-L7T released at the same time and run out of stock in Nov 2010.
Description of the guarantee has been changed on the end of January 2011
It's half year to change the description of the warranty! 3323 - L7T are exhausted before the description of the guarantee have been changed!

For 6 months! Why Lenovo have no action for 6 months? Why Lenovo do not tell their store / dealer on this problem? There is no any ads don't come from lenovo?   Or as simple as post ad on ThaiThinkPad discussion Forum(Forum discussion user ThinkPad). Why?

I'm wrong, I don't know that there was a problem in the registration of the guarantee? Most of the customer and employee store here know that X201i will come with warranty serivce on-site.

Now, I've owned 6 ThinkPads (R61, T61, T400, X200si, X201i and Edge 11 "), but perhaps X201i the last of them, I've owned.

BR,

Hi all

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused. I know that there are many users of thaithinkpad.com have discussed about this.

As far as I know, guaranteed for users with these MTM (3323-L7T and 3323-EATING), will be considered later.

naja_return, how's it going with your question?

If you have problems, you can PM me your details and I'll see what we can do.

Thank you.

Kind regards
Cleo

  • Can I downgrade the BIOS on my X201i?

Does anyone know if it's possible/desirable to "update" sound BIOS to an older version? In other words, are there additional problems involved with decommissioning of the BIOS as the most common risks with the BIOS updates?

What I plan to do is downgraded to the version released late June 2013, because there supposedly solves the problem of battery drain. No Lenovo apparently cares to answer one of my questions of how it is possible that I have a newer version of the BIOS that is currently posted as the newest one (I have installed since Oct-2012 of 1.40 - 1, 20; the most recent version, the new post-Jun-2013 is 1.40 - 1.15), or what to do about it. So I plan to go ahead and reinstall (by crushing) my current BIOS with one posted on the web site: 1.40 to 1.15. (I have very serious problems with heat like terrible battery upgrade to Pro Win8 dump station).

I'm no expert BIOS, so I'm not aware of the risks or potential problems of decommissioning of its BIOS. Perhaps there is nothing for her and amounts to the same thing as any BIOS update/install. In the affirmative, please let me know. I'm in complete lack of reliable expertise.

    Thank you!

I guess I'm for a clean install then.

Funny TVSU suggested I have install the BIOS recently posted yesterday (finally!). I did, without any problem, and it has certainly supported the heating problem. I always battery only about two hours of time, however, down from almost 5 hours before the passage of Win7Pro to Win8Pro...

  • HP Envy 700-430qe: question to downgrade HP Envy 700-430qe operating system

This computer came with windwos 8.1 and to be honest, I hate it.  This model can downgrade to windows 7 if I have a few copies of this House, or can I get a HP disc with this system and drivers and what not... sent my bigest most question is are there drivers for this material available for windows 7 for this computer.

J6N60AAR is the spicific product number.

HP has no Windows 7 drivers for this unit.  Make them can be a challenge.

Don't forget to create the external HP recovery media before doing anything.

Update the BIOSon your PC and get your PC stable if need be.

You have a PC delivered W8.  Did you check with HP and see if you have downgrade rights?

Consult this publication of the article.

If you still wish to go forward with Windows 7, then you can get the drivers of thissimilar model.

No guarantee that they will work.

Be careful when using Windows 7 disks that you have around your House.  If the license key has been used on other computers, then you will not be able of their.  A key, a single computer.

  • HP Envy m6-k010dx: downgrade Windows 7?

    Hi all

I'm buying the computer HP laptop above, Envy m6-k010dx. I have a HP Elitebook 8540w, which I like very much. I run Win. 7 pro. Now, the seller (eBay) that I bought the other from, misled me. I was under the impression it was a 3rd generation of Intel core i5. Is it: an AMD Quad core A - 105745 m and win running. 8. This HP laptop can be downgraded to run Win. 7 if I get the factory set w drivers drive? He told me it was okay. I doubt, however, because of the misinformation of the CPU. I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give! Thank you!

    Hello:

HP does not support this model with W7 64 bit drivers.

A lot of people can't even W7 to install on models equipped with the same way.

You must get some of the drivers of other laptops with similar equipment and chipset drivers and graphics from AMD.

No. 100% guarantee that everything will work perfectly well W7 running.

  • on the guarantee to operatin system

    Mr President

If at all... I update to windows 8.1 have guaranteed with my windows 8. windows 8.1 hangs on... am I going to get the support of HP to warranty...

    Hello

Update to windows 8.1 will not affect you warranty with HP because this is a free update that is given to you from microsoft.

And if in case you have software problems at the HP max will ask or downgrade to windows 8 and always help you with the problem you have. But to be on the safe side, I would say that you create a set of recovery discs for the original operating system which is windows 8 that came with the PC and then update 8.1, this way if you have problems you can use the diska to return to windows 8.

Here is the link on how to create recovery discs.

    Question:

Can I downgrade from Windows 8 for Windows 7?

    Answer:

Yes, customers can downgrade to Windows 7, but Microsoft has different terms for the users and the railways downgrade rights.  HP recommends clients check with Microsoft for the conditions of their specific operating system edition.

Customers who are able to choose to downgrade their products compatible HP Windows-8 for Windows 7 will remain protected by guarantees of HP products. Hello

Win7 for XP > install XP on a Partition different for example E: partition. You can see under 'Computer' C:, E: or F: partitions. Windows will not be downgraded to the same partition.

If Win 7 took all the space and then reduce it to create the United Nations space partitioned. How to do? Type "compmgmt.msc" on start it > search.

Access storage disks and see the partitions. Right click on the C: partition (it could be different, must first ensure) that contains the Windows 7 system. then select "shrink"...  Enter the size to reduce for example of 50 GB.

Insert the XP cd and select "install a new copy.

Follow the instructions: and where you are prompted to select the partition to install to., select "UN partitioned space. It will be formatted everything first installation can continue.

Note: Anyone considering a downgrade to XP must check to ensure that a * comprehensive set of drivers XP * is available for the material in question before trying to install XP.

Another consideration as possible: If the computer in question is under a manufacturer's warranty, the owner can check with the manufacturer to find out if the guarantee is meant by changing the operating system.

    It will be useful.

  • Can I downgrade to Windows 7 from Windows 8.1 on my desktop computer Pavilion 500-368na

As I'm not impressed by Windows 8.1 on my brand new, aged 1 week, Desktop, I would like to know if it is possible to downgrade to Windows 7. My pc would be used mainly as office at home with absolutely no interest in the games. Advice and instructions would be appreciated, although I have been informed that it is a complicated procedure. Is this something that should be done by a pc engineer?

You are right in your assumption that the guarantee may be cancelled.

Overview of Windows 9 is expected at the end of the month and we are all eager to see more of what she's on about.  Leak screenshots and which are not pure speculation as Microsoft kept a tight lid on this version.  It's perhaps the last full blown, with what they come out.  It could very well become a subscription service similar to what they are currently doing with Office 365 updated.  Other software companies seem to go the same route.

As I said in my post, you can save 8 looks like Win 7.  There is a free ebook of Dell, Windows 8 for Dummies, you can download from this site, if you are interested.

You now have the tools to decide what is best for you, good luck.

  • Paid the Downgrade Option using Dell?

I called Dell technical support earlier and asked about my current OS (2012 R2) Server 2008 R2 downgrade. I learned that I had not chosen a field of eligibility of decommissioning over my car and so I would be able to downgrade for free.

I have just deleted and thanked the technician for his help and proceeded at the end of the call it. I do not understand that the free option is out of the question and whether he was interested or not Dell offers an option to buy a copy of their OEM Server 2008 R2 with a license that I would be able to use to downgrade my system.

I had thought to buy just 2008 R2 from an online retailer, but fear that the compatibility problems as not having does not have access to the tools for Dell to load their servers.

Any thoughts on this is welcomed and appreciated.

    Thank you.

2012 R2 Standard may be downgraded to 2008 R2, no matter where and how you got it and regardless of whether or not Dell can / will do it for you.

The ONLY thing that downgrade made for you when buying a Dell server is you entitles to installation of MEDIA for the downgrade.

You have NO need to Dell support to perform the downgrade, but do not have certainly complicates the process. To exercise your right of demotion, you must have a valid license of 2008 R2 key to activate. Remember that this key is ONLY for the purpose of activation; 2008 R2 will remain properly allowed after activation by inherent to the 2012 R2 license downgrade rights. The key can be OEM, retail, MSDN, etc. AND can be used on another system (and will continue to be valid after activation on the other machine).

There's a chance you have to contact Microsoft to activate by phone, and in some cases, I've heard, it will give you a key to activate the downgrade after checking the license, but that will probably be more difficult to do it yourself.

    sirpardon
If Dell offered an option to buy a copy of their OEM Server 2008 R2 with a license that I would be able to use to downgrade my system.

They do not. You don't want anyway. If you buy the OS separately, buy retail so it can be transferred as needed.

    sirpardon
I had thought to buy just 2008 R2 from an online retailer, but fear that the compatibility problems as not having does not have access to the tools for Dell to load their servers.

There is no compatibility issues in doing so. Dell doesn't have its own version of Windows. The difference of ONLY between Dell installation media and credits/retail media is branding (activation, technical support information, backgrounds, etc.). However, as noted, there is no need to buy 2008R2, like 2012 R2 gives you the right to run 2008 R2, if Dell decided to help you or not.

I personally contact your TAM or sales representative and tell him you want to go back and reorganize (if, in the back window). Working with a TAM, I guarantee you 'almost' he will send you the support you need, even if it must charge "filter replacement" you the customary law of $20 or something, but it will probably send it free of charge.

  • Downgrade from Windows 8 to 7

Please list the steps. It was not a recent change.

    Hello Meade,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the issue.

I also like the fact you want to downgrade to Windows 8 to 7.

Your downgrade Windows 8 an earlier version of Windows depends as well on Windows 8 version you have and the method by which you got Windows 8. Not all editions of Windows provide downgrade rights. If you have right to demotion and decide to use them, you continue to keep the licence and the rights of use for your original version and can 'upgrade' to the rear at any time.

I suggest you to refer to this article and check if it helps.
    Reference:
    How downgrade from Windows 8
    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/2832566

    Important notes:
BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

I strongly recommend that you back up all your important files and folders on an external storage device before performing any type of BONE repair, upgrade, downgrade, or resettlement. You may lose all the programs installed, you may need to reinstall.

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

    Thank you

  • Y at - it a plugin/downgrade to Windows Media Player get older features?

I use the CDs and WMP9 is used because of the feature that allows titles to be disabled or enabled, and really, I don't want to rip my CD or get another audio player.

I tried the old WMP9 Installer, but he wouldn't even on Win7.

So is there any plugins that allow this function, or y at - it a downgrade patch that works for Win7.

    Hello

It is not possible to return to an earlier version of Windows Media Player in Windows 7.

Windows 7 comes with Windows Media Player 12 default. However, you can use another 3 party media player that has the same functionality as Windows Media Player 9.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • restore point warranty Vs catdwgrd.sql downgrade for oracle 12 c

I understand that we have two ways to downgrade (assuming that the compatible parameter is not modified) when upgraded us a 11.2.0.3 database for oracle 12 c.

I am curious about the benefits of catdwgrd.sql compared to the guarantees of restore point downgrade. I think that the guaranteed restore point seems very simple

compared to catdwgrd.sql. I also think that oracle brings exactly the database in the same State when we use catdwgrd.sql, while

guaranteed restore point brings back us to the State.
