Hard drive crash, need to uninstall old and re - install new Mac

The raid on my hard drive with CS6 crapped out. My 'Time Machine' back up to an external hard drive has only operational CS5. I can see CS6 in my applications, but get 'mistake1' and said to uninstall trying to launch. During an attempt which he cannot find the original or alias. When I search an alias, CS5 time machine is the only option. Of course, my new Mac says I CS6 loaded on another computer. How uninstall disk fried so I can recharge on my new computer?

Contact support to reset the activations, run the cleanup tool and install the software correctly.

    Hello

It slowed the computer and check the new disc repeatedly. Then it wouldn't start without the external drive at all but it was working fine once he was conducting with the external hard drive. So thinking I can outsmart the computer, I uninstalled the drive from Control Panel. Now it primer not at all. The computer lights up briefly and then goes out of itself almost immediately, is there a solution to this? Thank you

    Hi SomBhattacharya,

Please try the possible fix following first thanks to Carey Frisch:

    1. open the BIOS of the motherboard.
    2. find where it says Priority Boot Device, then select CD/DVD-ROM 1, 2nd Hard Drive and disable all the rest.
3 find somewhere in the BIOS where it says BOOT USB, Wake on USB, etc. and disable all unnecessary options.

And second if it does not help, you can try the following with Blue Michael:

Local Geek Squad had me intentionally set the BIOS to the correct order, then re-order and SAVE.
It worked, even if the list of the BIOS was always in the right order.

    I hope this helps!

  • HARD drive crashed, need for Vista OS.

    Hello

I'd appreciate help with the following problem.

I bought a new series, G5000 HP Laptop with Vist pre insalled a few years ago and had used the recovery disk HARD to re install the OS a couple of times when the problems occurred.

The HARD drive is now broke and is unrecoverable, and I installed a new HARD drive, but I don't have an OS disk, even if the product is registered.

I don't want to buy another copy of Vista, because I already have the product code, I'm computer savvy, but do not know what the next move is, Ms. will provide a floppy disk to allow me to re install the operating system.

    Appreciate any help,

    Thank you.

    Hello

In the same way that it is possible to create a disc of the retail of Windows 7, use this to perform the installation, and then use the OEM windows 7 activation key from COA label, the same process is possible if your laptop comes with Vista.  A complete description (including links to downloads of Vista Image) of it on the following link.  The Image you use must be the same as the version initially installed on your laptop.

  • my laptop was preloaded and hard drive crashed. Do I have to buy a new drive to install the new hard drive?

My laptop that I bought in January this year has been preloaded with windows 7 starter. I don't have the installation disc. What I have to buy one in order to install the new hard disk

Have you given up on trying to resolve why the computer won't start? You will need to provide more information about what happens when you try to start the computer. There are several reasons for which a computer does not start and a damaged operating system is only one. Please describe in detail what happens when you press the button.

Remember that a computer bought in January 2011 is very likely still covered by the warranty.

In the event of failure of the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) system, if that's what you see, for most users there is sufficient time to fully record what he says. the exact text is important for anyone trying to diagnose what is wrong. You can save time when the error occurs then by following the procedure described below.

If you already did it disable the auto reboot system error. This should help by allowing the time to write the code to Stop error and related information correctly. Select Start, do a right-click on computer select Properties, advanced, system settings startup and recovery, system failure and uncheck the box before automatically restarting. Re-do not enable automatic restart in the event of system failure after obtaining this information, this setting is the best left to not allow an automatic restart.

If the failure occurs during the initialization of the computer, you need to try a different approach. You can access the Advanced Options Menu of Windows on multiple computers by constantly pressing the F8 (key) key when starting and selecting the option - disable automatic restart in case of system error. This method is not always easy to use because it may be difficult to press the F8 key at the right time. Try again if it doesn't work the first time. On some computers, a different key must be used.

You can get the computer to boot by following the advice in the following link:

  • HARD drive crashed, need to install vista on the new drive. Pc product key is dispelled. Is this possible?

I may be able to start my drive enough to get something out of windows itself, but the drive does often not at all. The recovery partition is toast as well. It is a true copy of Vista 32 bit Home Edition, but the key on the bottom is almost completely dissipated, essentially unusable. How should I proceed?

  • Hard drive crash, have no CD, they have a product key what do I do

My son gateway computer hard drive crashed. I'll have to buy a new hard drive.  I don't have vista or bridge or other recover CD.  I have the license of vista product key.  I don't want to buy a new copy of vista.  Gateway wants to charge us just to ask a question, since the machine is out of warranty.  Ideas, suggestions? Is there an ISO somewhere?  The machine was Vista Home Premium 32-bit. Thank you.

You don't need to buy a new copy of Vista; an unnecessary expense.

Follow the advice of Carey to communicate with the gateway: http://support.gateway.com/support/default.aspx

    And read this:

    Vista DVD:

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Or borrow a good DVD (not Dell, HP, etc.) Vista.
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

My lightroom was great before the crash to work and I have a lot of work still pending.

You will need the catalog file and all your images. If you have also stored your images on which crashed HDD you will need to copy them as well.

The default location of the LR catalog file is in your user name folder in the folder on the ROOT of the drive users

  • Transfer of files from the old HARD DRIVE to new computer without an old computer. (He's dead - can not use) I have the hard drive, but need help to transfer my old files and settings.

    ·        My old Win XP computer died - it is completely unusable. I bought a new PC with Win 7 Pro and 1 TB. I still have the old HARD DRIVE (250 GB) which I have attached on the new computer using an external enclosure supports SATA drives. The external hard drive is connected to the computer in USB 3.0. I checked that the new computer can see the external hard drive. (I also used for backups by changing the hard drive with a 2 TB drive 'mass storage' - that works.)

I searched the internet for possible solutions and found no help. If the transfer of files from Microsoft would change the disc to analyze, it would be simple. But if I select the OLD computer it scans the disk I'm on (new) - automatically.

Is there anyone who has had the same problem? He must be because computers die all the time and people buy new computers - who then, somehow, they get the former transferred files. I could do it manually, but that wouldn't change the settings. Last resort would be to buy an old computer XP (SATA), replace the drive. Transfer the files, and then sell this computer.

You may be able to recover your data files, but I hope that you will set up your new system to automatically backup a second internal hard drive or an external USB hard drive.

This suggestion may not work, but it's worth a try. Buy an external USB drive enclosure. They come in two sizes 2.5 "for the portable computer drives and 3.5" for desktop disks. You can purchase adapters for 3.5 "envelopes so that they can also be used with a portable player. Place the hard drive in the enclosure and connect to a USB port of another computer. Several hard disks are more able to start, but the contents of the disc can still be accessed, read and copied from the disk because you do not use the operating system on a failed disk.

Here is an example of the type of device, I suggest:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=external+hardrive+enclosure&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=14388537836&hvpos=1t1&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=556960941559985931&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&ref=pd_sl_32uorbwbuk_b

You need only to the speaker, that you see are not necessarily more expensive. Thereafter, you can put an old hard drive usable, an abandoned because you need a larger drive internal, in the enclosure and use it as additional external storage.
