Hard drive on HP Pavilion Notebook PC g4 Faliure?

Model: HP Pavilion Notebook PC g4

System ID: 165C

Product ID: LW342UA #ABA

Processor: AMD Athlon (TM) II P650 Dual-Core processor

Serial number: 5CD1241GPC

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

After a short period of time left on a surface hard and easily broken down in the standby mode, the laptop was considerably lag. I tried to restart it (after you have closed all programs) to see if that would fix the freezing, without result. Concerned, I have restored the laptop to an earlier date (yesterday), but that has not solved the problem.

I ran a test run-in via the start menu, and it doesn't have; the cause was the hard drive, and when I ran the specific test on the hard drive, it has also failed.

The ID of the error it gave me both times was: 9LGKKW-5NQ6GL-MFPV56-60RQ03, followed by the product ID of the hard disk, which is listed above (product ID, he registered as a Hard Disk 1). The failure has been described as a failure of the short DST.

I was wondering what the problem was, how I could possibly fix this (and otherwise, if the covered guarantee) and any other information that I could possibly be given about the issue.

I use a different laptop to access this site.

If the laptop is under warranty, HP will replace the hard drive. Call them and ask that they send you a replacement unit rather than ask them to send the entire unit. You did the recovery discs? If this isn't the case, you need to ask a set of thise be bundled with the drive. It seems that data may still be recoverable on the old drive, but I doubt that it now allows a set fo used recovery disks.

  • Hard drive the HP PAVILION DV6T - 4000 NOTES

My hard drive on HP PAVILION DV6T - 4000 NOTE failed. I need to order a replacement hard drive. Kindly let me know the best option for the same.

    Hello

This is a technical director of the machine so very little information we can find. He uses this means you can use any standard SATA HDD SATA. If you want to buy the original size and the brand, you can order from HP, or any computer store.

My suggestion: a WD SATA II 750 GB at 7200 RPM should work fine.

    Kind regards.

I couldn't find anything in a search of the internet.

    Thank you.

There are many ways to format the hard drive. You did not really provide details...

You can download the Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD) and burn it to a CD, then you can boot from the CD and use the tools of HARD drive to remove the partitions/erase the hard drive.

    Hello:

Unfortunately, the support pages do not work for most new PC HP.

It has been like this for about a day now.

Since I'm not employed by nor do I represent HP, I do not know when they will have pages working again.

    Come back again later.

With the Independence Day holiday in the USA weekend, I wouldn't wait it to be taken care of immediately.

If you follow these steps, I'll be able to see the drivers wireless and bluetooth, you need a professional laptop HP with the same wireless card...

Go to Device Manager and click on the marked device network controller that should the drivers.

Then click on the Details tab at the top of the control of the network window.

Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

Drop down on it and select 3rd in the list (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters that start with PCI\VEN.

So I'll post the link to the driver you need.

Hello Linda820, here is the link for information on how to remove the hard drive from the Pavilion p6210f.

Look at the bottom of the page for instructions on hard drive. It is a fairly simple process.

The only real "shove" the process is the system of lock at the bottom of the hard drive cage. You can see in the photo instructions.

Since you know exactly on the other HP model, it should be the same procedure to install the disk hard of the faulty system to the recently acquired system, or close to the same.

You must cable Sata of the old system, given that the other system probably does not have one, and you need to connect to the right of the current hard drve Sata port port.

  • I want to add a second hard drive for my Pavilion Elite HPE 410f. Recommendations?

I want to add a second hard drive for my Pavilion Elite HPE 410f. Recommendations?  Somewhere in the 320 to 500 GB range and I want a quick unit because it will be used for rendering videos.    Thank you for your response.

    Hello

How fast is fast is the real question.

Have you looked at hybrid drives OCZ? Expensive but probably the fastest option.

Seagate also made a hybrid hard drive.  Good price... You will need a 3.5 "to 2.5" support if the player does not support.  If you install the drive in an empty optical Bay then you will need a 5.25 "to 2.5" support.

Your other choice is 7 200 or 10 000 rpm traditional hard drives.

Another option would be to add a PCI sata and two external hard dirves configured in RAID 0.

  • 2nd hard drive for HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 CTO Notebook - what do I need?

Hi, I have the HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 CTO Select Edition Entertainment Notebook (product # WV703AV). It can accommodate two hard disks but only came with one. What would need to be able to install the second hard drive? I need just a connecting cable or I also need to caddy or kit?

Also, would I get a solid state? My laptop that would support or should I just use regular?

Currently, I am on Windows 7 64-bit. I have a 500 GB hd (which came to be partitioned with hp tools/restoration).

Help with what I would need to a conventional hard drive or ssd would be greatly appreciated. I tried to look through messages of others first, but could not find anything specific to my model. Thanks for your time!

    Hello:

The only place I know where you can get a 2nd hard drive kit is that provider.

    http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?Main_Page=product_info&products_id=345

Your laptop should be able to work with an SSD, but I can't guarantee it.

I don't really see any point in adding an SSD unless you make the main hard drive, and to do this, you must get an SSD of the same size as the original 500 GB hard drive to use the recovery discs to reinstall the operating system.

Most people get smaller SSD and they use the W7 product key to activate a simple installation of W7.

If you can read all 25 characters of your product key for windows 7, you can do your own installation media and allows to install Windows on a smaller than 500 GB SSD.

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

You can do it. Where are you located (country)? This will determine which brand of SSD can be purchased and at what price. If you can find the Samsung Evo 850 is a very good.

G6-2213so is the model and here is a video showing the replacement hard drive.

Here, the technician is not a question. You can avoid all eyes on the Bay coverage of service by pulling the battery Bay after removing the screws.

  • HP Pavilion G6: replacement hard drive on hp pavilion g6

Im trying to replace a hard drive on a HP pavilion G6 model number is G6 2239dx so I looked hard drives compatible with this model number that I did not buy directly from HP for a heavy sum. I found the other G6 drives with different model numbers, now I know that I certainly need the model number to order the Pack recovery but on the hard drive. It is somehow specific model number or can I use a hard drive from a 1B79dx of G6 G6 model number or any other g6 also. I'm new on this and do not want to buy something I can't use and have not been able to find clear information, I'm looking for. Any help is appreciated!

    Hello

Basically you can use any standard laptop HARD drive. But please use Hitachi or Toshiba. HP machines use Toshiba HDD much. You don't need special HARD drive to your machine.

    Kind regards.

  • Add hard drive to the Pavilion e9240f

Can I add another internal hard drive to my HP Pavilion e9240f that works under Windows 7 64-bit?  I'm looking to acquire another "Western Digital 1 TB Caviar Green SATA Intellipower 32 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Desktop Hard Drive WD10EADS" to complete the original, but I need to know if a drive location and connectivity is available for the disc.  I took a peek inside the case and there seems to be available, but I want to be sure before venturing forward.  In addition the original hard drive, my PC has 2 CD/DVD players.

    Hello

I have the same case with my HP e9280t and it is supplied for two hard disks.  You will need a SATA data cable.  The motherboard has six SATA ports, so you won't have to question to find an empty SATA port.

The specifications for the Commission on the motherboard shows SATA I and SATA II ports.  You should be OK with the SATA III disc as I have not seen any problems with SATA III drives on SATA II ports.  I've seen some laptops have problems with SATA III SSD on SATA channels.

Check with Western Digital and see if you need to apply an update to the firmware on the hard disk.  I see that HP has a firmware for this drive, but I don't know if it will work on your particular WD drive.

Be sure to do a full format on the hard drive.

  • is there a slide in the hard drive for hp pavilion m8013w

I want to load windows 8.1 on my current hp pavilion m8013w but, don't want to erase Vista with all my data on the current hard drive.

So I think to install a hard drive "slide in" front loading slot and on the hard disk and then move all my data of visited.

Anyone know what I should do when shopping for a slide in the hard drive.  is there a model number?

    Peace!

    Isely, welcome to the forum.

Have you run the Wizard upgrade of Windows 8 to ensure that the components of the computer are compatible with Win 8.1?  It is available in the link I have provided.

I am not sure what you mean by a hard drive "slide in".  You hear a "Personal Media Drive"?  If so, I can't find one any where.

If the computer is compatible with Win 8.1, it would be easier to buy a SATA hard drive.  You can use the FREE copy of Aomei Partion Wizard to transfer your BONES and your data.  I downloaded it to see what it will do.  It seems to be a great program.  You should read all the 'tutorials' which are provided.

  • Adding 3rd hard drive for HP Pavilion Elite m9250f

I have a Pavilion Elite m9250f running Windows Vista Home 64 bit. The computer currently has two 500 GB hard drives for a total capacity of 1 TB. I would like to add a third drive to increase storage capacity.  I have a SATA to 2 to and cables. When I tried to install the new drive above the two existing disks, he did not slide smoothly. When I removed the already highest reader, I could slide the new drive into but the screws are not line up properly with the new drive. This leads me to believe that I can not install a third drive in the Bay. Is this a correct assumption?

I have an available expansion Bay below the optical drive but am not sure that it is usable for a hard drive. If the use of the expansion Bay is possible, do I have to buy a hook or how to mount the drive in this space?

If necessary, I can copy the data from the secondary drive on an external drive and replace it with the new drive. However, I need confirmation that the secondary is the player in the foreground of both in the hard disc enclosure.

    Thank you for your help.

If the task under the existing optical Bay is open, just use an adapter to fill the space and to mount the drive in there.  Make sure of course that there is a power cord and a SATA port.
